Driving the atom by atomic fluorescence: analytic results for the power and noise spectra
We study how the spectral properties of resonance fluorescence propagate
through a two-atom system. Within the weak-driving-field approximation we find
that, as we go from one atom to the next, the power spectrum exhibits both
sub-natural linewidth narrowing and large asymmetries while the spectrum of
squeezing narrows but remains otherwise unchanged. Analytical results for the
observed spectral features of the fluorescence are provided and their origin is

A Portuguese East Indiaman from the 1502-1503 Fleet of Vasco da Gama off Al Hallaniyah Island, Oman: An interim report
Two Portuguese naus from Vasco da Gama's second voyage to India, left behind to disrupt maritime trade between India and the Red Sea, were wrecked in May 1503 off the north-eastern coast of Al Hallaniyah Island, Oman. The ships, Esmeralda and São Pedro, had been commanded by da Gama's maternal uncles, Vicente and Brás Sodré, respectively. A detailed study and scientific analysis of an artefact assemblage recovered during archaeological excavations conducted in Al Hallaniyah in 2013 and 2014 confirms the location of an early 16th-century Portuguese wreck-site, initially discovered in 1998. Esmeralda is proposed as the probable source of the remaining, un-salved wreckage
Resonance fluorescence spectrum of a two-level atom driven by a bichromatic field in a squeezed vacuum
The steady-state resonance fluorescence spectrum of a two-level atom driven by a bichromatic field in a broadband squeezed vacuum is studied. When the carrier frequency of the squeezed vacuum is tuned to the frequency of the central spectral line, anomalous spectral features, such as hole burning and dispersive profiles, can occur at the central line. We show that these features appear for wider, and experimentally more convenient, ranges of the parameters than in the case of monochromatic excitation. ?he absence of a coherent spectral component at the central line makes any experimental attempt to observe these features much easier. We also discuss the general features of the spectrum. When the carrier frequency of the squeezed vacuum is tuned to the first odd or even sidebands, the spectrum is asymmetric and only the sidebands an sensitive to phase. For appropriate choices of the phase the linewidths or only the odd or even sidebands can be reduced. A dressed-stale interpretation is provided
Time development of squeezing in two photon absorption
We present numerical results for the development of squeezing in one of the components of the field as a single mode coherent beam propagates through a resonant two photon absorber. Exact calculations lead to much higher squeezing than that predicted by short time calculations. Squeezing is found to persist over a range of the propagation distances
