    We consider twist-3 operators in the sl(2) sector of N=4 SYM built out of three scalar fields with derivatives. We extract from the Bethe Ansatz equations of this sector the exact lowest anomalous dimension gamma(s) of scaling fields for several values of the operator spin s. We propose compact closed expressions for the spin dependence of gamma(s) up to the four loop level and show that they obey a simple new twist-3 transcendentality principle. As a check, we reproduce the four loop universal cusp anomalous dimension governing the logarithmic large spin limit of gamma(s).Comment: 26 pages, JHEP styl

    Large spin expansion of the long-range Baxter equation in the sl(2) sector of N=4 SYM

    Recently, several multi-loop conjectures have been proposed for the spin dependence of anomalous dimensions of twist-2 and 3 operators in the sl(2) sector of N=4 SYM. Currently, these conjectures are not proven, although several consistency checks have been performed on their large spin expansion. In this paper, we show how these expansions can be efficiently computed without resorting to any conjecture. To this aim we present in full details a method to expand at large spin the solution of the long-range Baxter equation. We treat the twist-2 and 3 cases at two loops and the twist-3 case at three loops. Several subtleties arise whose resolution leads to a simple algorithm computing the expansion.Comment: 26 page

    Completeness of reporting of case reports in high-impact medical journals

    Introduction: Case reports represent a relevant, timely and important study design in advancing medical scientific knowledge. They allow integration between clinical practice and clinical epidemiology. We aimed to assess the completeness of reporting (COR) of case reports published in high-impact journals. We assessed the COR of case reports using the CARE guidelines. Materials and methods: We selected three high-impact journals and one journal specialized in publishing case reports, in which we included all published case reports from July to December 2017. Median COR score was calculated per study, and CORs were compared between journals with and without endorsement of CARE guidelines. Results: One hundred and fourteen case reports were included. Overall median COR was 81%, IQR [63%-96%]. Sections with the highest COR (84%-100%) were patient information, clinical findings, therapeutic intervention, follow-up and outcomes, discussion and informed consent. Sections with the lowest COR were title, keywords, timeline and patient perspective (2%-34%). COR was higher in journals endorsing in comparison to those not endorsing CARE guidelines (77% vs 65%), respectively, median difference = −12% 95% CI [−16% to −7%]. Discussion: Overall completeness of case reports in included journals is high especially for CARE endorsing and dedicated journals but reporting of some items could be improved. Ongoing and future evaluations of endorsement status of reporting guidelines in medical journals should be assessed to improve completeness and reduce waste of clinical research, including case reports

    Classical/quantum integrability in non-compact sector of AdS/CFT

    We discuss non-compact SL(2,R) sectors in N=4 SYM and in AdS string theory and compare their integrable structures.     Absence of spin superradiance in resonatorless magnets

    A spin system is considered with a Hamiltonian typical of molecular magnets, having dipole-dipole interactions and a single-site magnetic anisotropy. In addition, spin interactions through the common radiation field are included. A fully quantum-mechanical derivation of the collective radiation rate is presented. An effective narrowing of the dipole-dipole attenuation, due to high spin polarization is taken into account. The influence of the radiation rate on spin dynamics is carefully analysed. It is shown that this influence is completely negligible. No noticeable collective effects, such as superradiance, can appear in molecular magnets, being caused by electromagnetic spin radiation. Spin superradiance can arise in molecular magnets only when these are coupled to a resonant electric circuit, as has been suggested earlier by one of the authors in Laser Phys. {\bf 12}, 1089 (2002).Comment: Latex file, 14 pages, 5 figure

    On the Strong Coupling Scaling Dimension of High Spin Operators

    We give an exact analytic solution of the strong coupling limit of the integral equation which was recently proposed to describe the universal scaling function of high spin operators in N = 4 gauge theory.     Large spin limits of AdS/CFT and generalized Landau-Lifshitz equations

    We consider AdS_5 x S^5 string states with several large angular momenta along AdS_5 and S^5 directions which are dual to single-trace Super-Yang-Mills (SYM) operators built out of chiral combinations of scalars and covariant derivatives. In particular, we focus on the SU(3) sector (with three spins in S^5) and the SL(2) sector (with one spin in AdS_5 and one in S^5), generalizing recent work hep-th/0311203 and hep-th/0403120 on the SU(2) sector with two spins in S^5. We show that, in the large spin limit and at the leading order in the effective coupling expansion, the string sigma model equations of motion reduce to matrix Landau-Lifshitz equations. We then demonstrate that the coherent-state expectation value of the one-loop SYM dilatation operator restricted to the corresponding sector of single trace operators is also effectively described by the same equations. This implies a universal leading order equivalence between string energies and SYM anomalous dimensions, as well as a matching of integrable structures. We also discuss the more general 5-spin sector and comment on SO(6) states dual to non-chiral scalar operators

    Yang-Mills Correlation Functions from Integrable Spin Chains

    The relation between the dilatation operator of N=4 Yang-Mills theory and integrable spin chains makes it possible to compute the one-loop anomalous dimensions of all operators in the theory. In this paper we show how to apply the technology of integrable spin chains to the calculation of Yang-Mills correlation functions by expressing them in terms of matrix elements of spin operators on the corresponding spin chain.
