Sigma Model Corrections to the Confining Background
Sigma model () corrections to the confining string
background are obtained. The main result is that the Poincar\'e invariant
ansatz is maintained. Physical conditions for the dissapearance of the naked
singularity are discussed.Comment: LaTeX,12 page

An Approach to Comprehensively Evaluate Potential Park and Ride Facilities
ABSTRACTA park and ride facility provides an option to car drivers to park their cars and switch to public transportation for the remaining portions of their trips. Although park and ride has been implemented in many cities in the United States and integrated with different modes of transportation, no comprehensive approach has been developed in published literature to assess the feasibility of a potential park and ride site. This research proposes a comprehensive approach, which consists of the following tasks, to evaluate potential park and ride facilities:
1Site location analysis2Bus system reliability analysis3Parking supply and usage analysis4Mode choice model5User demand and ridership estimation6Cost estimation and economic impacts analysisThe application of the proposed tasks was demonstrated through a case study of a site in the City of El Paso, Texas

BIM Bamboo: a digital design framework for bamboo culms
For decades bamboo has been identified as one of the most promising alternatives to help reduce the rising demand for industrialised building materials in the global south but numerous technical, normative and cultural challenges have so far prevented its widespread use in construction. In response, significant resources are currently being invested in the development of standardised, highly processed structural bamboo components following the unsustainable model of mass industrialisation prevalent in the global north. As a counterpoint, this research re-examines the structural use of natural bamboo culms against the backdrop of the digital age and postulates a new design and fabrication framework to support the construction of high-quality, sustainable and resilient bamboo structures suitable for the twenty-first century. This framework is based on the principles of building information modelling and is focused on managing, as opposed to forcibly eliminating, the inherent variability of a natural structural element through modern three-dimensional scanning, digital modelling and robotic fabrication. This paper presents the conceptual details of this framework with a particular focus on Mexico, one of the largest emergent economies in the world, as a potential implementation platform
Laboral y la obtención del TÃtuloThis Master's Thesis has been carried out according to the specifications of the
Educational Practice modality in which a reflexive analysis of the Didactic
Programming of the Training and Labor Orientation Module corresponding to the Title
of Intermediate Degree Technician in Auxiliary Care is carried out of Nursing taught by
CIFP Los Gladiolos for the 2021-2022 academic year. On the other hand, the
elaboration of a Programming proposal is carried out, after carrying out said previous
analysis and a complete Work Unit of the Module is developed, in which the activities
to be carried out are detailed and with which it is intended that the students reach the
necessary competences of the Training and Labor Orientation Module and obtain the
degree
Point-of-care tests for urinary tract infections : protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis of diagnostic test accuracy
Funding: DFN is supported by an NES general practice academic fellowship, AAL is supported by an HDR UK clinical postdoctoral fellowship and VHS is supported by an NRS clinical academic fellowship.Introduction Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the second most common type of infection worldwide, accounting for a large number of primary care consultations and antibiotic prescribing. Current diagnosis is based on an empirical approach, relying on symptoms and occasional use of urine dipsticks. The diagnostic reference standard is still urine culture, although it is not routinely recommended for uncomplicated UTIs in the community, due to time to diagnosis (48 hours). Faster point-of-care tests have been developed, but their diagnostic accuracy has not been compared. Our objective is to systematically review and meta-analyse the diagnostic accuracy of currently available point-of-care tests for UTIs. Methods and analysis Studies evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of point-of-care tests for UTIs will be included. PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews were searched from inception to 1 June 2019. Data extraction and risk-of-bias assessment will be assessed using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies tool. Meta-analysis will be performed depending on data availability and heterogeneity. Ethics and dissemination This is a systematic review protocol and therefore formal ethical approval is not required, as no primary, identifiable, personal data will be collected. Patients or the public were not involved in the design of our research. However, the findings from this review will be shared with key stakeholders, including patient groups, clinicians and guideline developers, and will also be presented and national and international conferences.Publisher PDFPeer reviewe
