    Implementation of Decision Support System for Integrated Coastal Zone Management of Sustainable Mariculture Development Industry in Indonesia

    Indonesia has abundant and potential coastal resources for future development of mariculture industry activities. However, complex problem is found in the land and coastal zone utilization, among others: coastal environment degradation, resources depletion, conflict and overlapping utilization of marine area. New perspective of Decision Support System (DSS) for integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) can be used to solve this complexity with respect to the results of high resolution of hydrodynamic and wave numerical model, water quality, and ICZM. The aim of this paper is to determine the suitable site for the implementation of sustainable future development of mariculture in Galang Island, Riau Province, Indonesia. A suitability map of geographic information system based on ICZM is indicated by sixteen thematic maps. Implementations of the comprehensive ICZM of DSS criteria prove that Galang Island has a bright potential of Grouper mariculture development industry by sustainable suitable area of about 12,940 hectares

    Abstrak. Fenomena El Nino merupakan salah satu penyebab terjadinya pemanasan global yang saat ini sedang terjadi di seluruh dunia. Indonesia tidak terkecuali turut merasakan dampak dari fenomena tersebut. Fenomena tersebut mengakibatkan kekeringan dan krisis air bersih, terutama pada dataran rendah seperti daerah pesisir. Untuk itu, pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bermetode Service Learning ini, mahasiswa memberikan kontribusi langsung terhadap krisis air bersih di daerah pesisir terpencil di Dusun Tegalsari, Desa Dukuh Kupang, Kecamatan Jabon, Kota Sidoarjo. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam rangka Program Pembinaan UMKM Nusantara Pangan Sejati Dalam Rangka Perluasan Pasar Dan Eksplorasi Manfaat Kesehatan Produk Dan Program Pembinaan UMKM Nurul Ismiati. Adapun tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memanfaatkan air payau yang tidak layak pakai menjadi air bersih yang layak konsumsi dengan menggunakan Alat Pemurni Air Payau Berbasis Material Lokal (ALPAMAL) dan membantu proses produksi UMKM. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bermetode Service Learning ini dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu pra pelaksanaan, pelaksanaan, pasca pelaksanaan, yang dilaksanakan selama dua hari dengan waktu persiapan selama tiga minggu. Kegiatan Service Learning diawali dengan survei lokasi dan penjelasan ALPAMAL dalam pra pelaksanaan, dilanjutkan dengan pemasangan ALPAMAL di Dusun Tegalsari dalam tahap pelaksanaan, dan diakhiri dengan survei terhadap masyarakat dan mahasiswa sebagai tahap pasca pelaksanaan. Berdasarkan hasil dari survei kepada masyarakat, diketahui bahwa hampir seluruh (93,33%) responden merasa kegiatan Service Learning ini terbantu oleh kontribusi mahasiswa melalui kegiatan Service Learning, dan diketahui hampir seluruh (89,5%) mahasiswa yang mengikuti Service Learning merasa bahwa kegiatan Service Learning membuat mereka lebih ingin untuk terlibat aktif dalam membantu lingkungan di sekitarnya

    Abstract. In recent years, Surabaya as one of the Metropolitan cities in Indonesia has become increasingly crowded. Through the increasing level of urbanization in Surabaya, peoples purchasing power of land has decreased and the number of illegal buildings erected around public facilities is increasing, such as on the outrun of railways. The background and object of this research is an elementary school where less than 2 (two) meters located in the middle of the intersection of two Dupak Magersari railroad tracks, Surabaya. Besides, COVID-19 pandemic is still one of the concerns of all people. During the New Normal, the school may reopen soon. Thus, the goal of this research is to carry out the sustainable school design concerning inclusive, resilience along with safety school operation. The research method begins with a survey and questionnaires to determine the behavior and perceptions of residents related to the existence of the elementary school. The outcomes of the initial survey illustrated that some people think that every accident is fate without realizing that there is a solution to prevent it. Then the results of the analysis from observations and questionnaires are used as a reference in providing solutions for both problems in the short and long term in the form of safe and sustainable school design

    High Spatial Grid Resolution of Hydrodynamic Numerical Modeling for Sea Current Energy Site Selection in Indonesia

    The need for renewable energy in Indonesia has increased constantly as a part of Indonesia�s agenda to meet energy demand while reducing the over-dependency on fossil fuel. Tidal sea current energy is one of the technologies which offers a huge and predictable energy resource. This paper presents the assessment utilized 2-dimensional numerical models of sea tidal current velocities in the vicinity of Galang Island, Riau Archipelago Province, Indonesia. Simulations were carried out by applying an open source model, Delft3D modeling system. To assess hydrodynamic flow models results in accordance to the standards of sea current energy device development, this result demonstrates information at a high spatial grid resolution of 44 m to 52 m and a sequential resolution for the suitability assessment within the area of interest. It performs that the potential areas of sea current energy generation possibilities in the vicinity of Galang Island have a current speed greater 2.5 m/s

    The Benefit of Decision Support System as Sustainable Environment Technology to Utilize Coastal Abundant Resources in Indonesia

    Being the largest archipelagic state in the world (± 81 000 km of coastline), Indonesia has a great potential for developing the aquaculture industry. But, the accomplishment of sustainable practices and management systems are still in its infancy. Therefore, it is vital to improve aquaculture technology and develop management tools that address the need for an eco-friendly production process. In this manuscript, the Decision Support System software is applied for the management of sustainable floating net cage finfish cultures. This software integrates physical, chemical, biological properties and information on coastal uses to determine site selection, production carrying capacity, ecological carrying capacity and socio-economic assessment of 18 cases, focusing on the economic viability of Tiger grouper [Epinephelus fuscoguttatus (Forsskål, 1775)], Humpback grouper [Cromoliptes altivelis (Valenciennes, 1828)] and Leopard Coral grouper [Plectropomeus leopardus (Lacepède, 1802)] at three remote areas in Indonesia, including: Ekas Bay, Talise and Galang Island. The outcomes demonstrate that only Galang Island provides a suitable area of 12 940 ha with the estimated production carrying capacity of (0.5 to 366) t/annual per fish farm along with ecological carrying capacity are limited of (18 393 to 21 727) t/annual and economic evaluation highlighted that all cultures development are economically viable

    Climate change caused by global warming has occurred, and its negative impacts felt in almost all parts of the earth in the era of construction 4.0. Likewise, at the end of 2017, Rob flood disaster occurred at the research location where is a coastal area with very large potential, especially seaweed cultivation along with 90% population depended on income for this cultivation. Thus, the research method needs to be done through a technological approach based on the industrial revolution 4.0 that uses data, internet and human resources. Through photography that is further related to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and sonar, where the use of this tool is one of the fields in the world of photography, aerial photography. Making topographic and bathymetry maps using the photogrammetric method is done using drones and taking pictures in the area under study, then processing data through MenciAPS software, and ArcGIS. The results obtained have been able to provide information on both topography and bathymetry, but still, need to be improved further through further research. Then, it can use as a reference for related parties, both Government and Private, in designing the construction of civil buildings against the threat of Rob flooding

    Pemerintah Kabupaten Tana Tidung dibentuk berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 34 Tahun 2007 Tanggal 10 Agustus 2007 tentang pembentukan Kabupaten Tana Tidung di Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Tujuan utama dalam pemekaran Kabupaten Tana Tidung adalah untuk mendekatkan pelayanan pemerintah kepada masyarakat dan pemerataan pembangunan. Sejak dimekarkan dan IPM Kabupaten Tana Tidung mulai dihitung, status kinerja pembangunan manusia di Kabupaten Tana Tidung relatif masih rendah, khususnya pada komponen kesehatan. Hal tersebut menunjukkan belum maksimalnya tingkat pelayanan kesehatan kepada masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini untuk mempermudah menganalisis evaluasi penyediaan layanan publik bidang kesehatan, peneliti menggunakan model CIPP. Dimana setelah dilakukan evaluasi dengan model CIPP, peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa tingkat pelayanan kesehatan masih belum maksimal. Sehingga, saran yang dapat diberikan adalah Pemerintah Kabupaten Tana Tidung perlu untuk memperbaiki fasilitas kesehatan yang ada dan meningkatkan tenaga kesehatan yang memenuhi standar baik dari segi kualitas mapun kuantita

    Application and Lesson Learned in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science Service-Learning Program

    Environmental Science class is an integral part of any modern 21st century Civil Engineering education curriculum. The rising need for sustainable development education in addition of education that does not only focus on the cognitive part but also the affective part required an evaluation of Environmental Science class curriculum. Petra Christian University began to apply Service-Learning style of education in its Environmental Science class since 2017, in order to fulfill the previously stated challenges. Reworks on class material and implementation of classwide Service-Learning project was done. Putting student�s creativity and autonomy at the forefront of the Service-Learning project, the class is considered as a success. The student produced reflections and academic report that demonstrated their comprehension of sustainable development showed that the Service-Learning project managed to educate their heart. The Service-Learning based Environmental Science class can be used as a model and precedent for other Civil Engineering Departments that want to implement meaningful and impactful Environmental Science class

    The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and online learning on college stress in accounting students directly and mediated by accounting student motivation. The sampling technique is probability sampling with a simple random sampling as many of as 149 students from the Accounting Study Program at the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS version 3.2.9 was used to analyze the data in this study. The results of this research indicate that: Emotional intelligence and self-efficacy have no impact on college stress and are insignificant; online learning and motivation have a significant effect on college stress; emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and online learning have a significant effect on motivation; motivation can mediate emotional intelligence on college stress; motivation can mediate self-efficacy towards college stress; motivation can mediate online learning against college stress
