Random walk based heuristic algorithms for distributed memory model checking

    Get PDF
technical reportModel checking techniques suffer from the state space explosion problem: as the size of the system being verified increases, the total state space of the system increases exponentially. Some of the methods that have been devised to tackle this problem are partial order reduction, symmetry reduction, hash compaction, selective state caching, etc. One approach to the problem that has gained interest in recent years is the parallelization of model checking algorithms. A random walk on the state space has some nice properties, the most important of which is the fact that it lends itself to being parallelized in a natural way. Random walk is a low overhead and a partial search method. Breadth first search, on the other hand, is a high overhead and a full search technique. In this article, we propose various heuristic algorithms that combine random walks on the state space with bounded breadth first search in a parallel context. These algorithms are in the process of being incorporated into a distributed memory model checker

Let Bt(n) denote the number of t-regular bipartitions of n. In this work, we establish several infinite families of congruences modulo powers of 2 and 5 for B5(n). For example, we find that for all nonnegative integers n, i and j and r ϵ 23, 47, B5 (22i+4.52j+1n + r.22i+1.52j-1/3) 0(mod24). © 2017 World Scientific Publishing Company

An observational study on the prescription pattern of antihypertensive drugs in a private health care centre, Chennai

Background: Hypertension is a public health problem worldwide. Elevated systolic blood pressure ≥140 mm Hg or diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg are defined as Hypertension. The choice of an antihypertensive drug is based on its efficacy, side-effects, effects on other systems and cost. The objective of this study is to evaluate the prescription pattern of antihypertensive drugs in a private health care centre. Methods: A retrospective observational study was carried out in the out-patient department of a private health care centre, Chennai from November 2018 to December 2018.Results: In the present study, 104 prescriptions were selected based on the inclusion criteria. In which 62 (59.61%) were males and 42 (40.38%) were females. Prescriptions belonging to age group of <40 years were 11 (10.57%), 40–59 years were 48 (46.15%) and >60 years were 45 (43.26%). Monotherapy was received by 62 hypertensive patients and as combination therapy by 42 patients. Conclusions: Even though the prescription pattern of antihypertensive drugs in this study complied with the recommended guidelines, clinicians should always be vigilant and consider change of regimen whenever necessary

Color Partition Identities Arising from Ramanujan's Theta-Functions

We establish several partition identities with distinct colors that arise from Ramanujan’s theta-function identities and formulas for multipliers in the theory of modular equations. Also, we deduce few partition congruences as a corollary of some partition identities

On some new modular relations for Ramanujan's remarkable product of theta functions

In this paper, we establish several new P-Q mixed modular equations involving thetafunctions which are similar to those recorded by Ramanujan in his notebooks. As an application, we establish several new general formulas for explicit evaluations of Ramanujan's remarkable product of theta-functions and a remarkable product of theta-functions

Comparative evaluation of shear bond strength of universal dental adhesives : an in vitro study

Patient demand for tooth colored restorations and desire for minimally invasive restorations have made composites an indispensable part of the restorative process. An important factor affecting the intra-oral performance of composite restorations is bonding. Ninty six freshly extracted molar teeth were collected and occlusal 3mm is removed using a diamond disc to expose dentine. Following with samples were divided in to two main groups (self-etch and total etch). Each main group is again sub divided in to three groups each according to bonding agent used (Tetric N- Bond Universal, Single Bond Universal, Tetric N Bond Total etch in total etch group and Clear Fill SE in self etch group). Following which bonding protocol is followed according to manufacture instructions, a composite buildup of 2x3 mm is done on each specimen and then specimen were subjected to shear bond test under universal testing machine. All the readings were noted and subjected to statistical analysis using One way ANOVA and Tukey?s posthoc test. It showed that there is no significant difference among the groups in both self-etch and total etch modes. It can be concluded that application of an etching step prior to Universal Adhesives significantly improves their dentine penetration pattern, although this does not affect their mean SBS. The bond strength values of the TBU regardless of application mode were comparable to SBU making them reliable for working under different clinical conditions

    DESIGN &FABRICATION OF TILTING VEHICLE

This project report includes information regarding “TILTING MECHANISM” of a four wheel vehicle .The main objective of the project is to design and a fabricate a four wheel tilting vehicle. The vehicle consists of the independent suspension system. The design of the vehicle is to be obtained by setting up parameters such as track width, vehicle length and ride height. By discussing and calculating the basic dimensions of the vehicle the main frame was designed in Solid Works and the frame was analyzed using Solid Works-Simulation and after the design was finished according to several attempts. The manufacturing part is to be done in a workshop where all tools needed are available at exposal. The report also determines the suspension profile needed for the mechanism to avoid the load factors. It also contains the profile of wishbones used in the front suspension part of the types of joints used for the free movement of the wheels during bumps and uneven roads, upgrade in the design of knuckle hubs, tie rod linkages. The operation carried out in the process of fabricating the whole vehicle is included in the report
