Ecological Agriculture as a strategy to sustainable rural development as demonstrated in a Mexican Project
The Humboldt-University of Berlin, Germany and the University of Chapingo, Mexico are working together on a project named âDevelopment of Environmental Agriculture in Central Countries of Mexicoâ. The study began two years ago. The main focus is the analysis and research of eco-logical agriculture as a strategy to sustainable rural development. My con-tribution will be to show the experiences with ecological agriculture on a long time project in Mexico in the State of Tlaxcala. The village Vicente Guerrero is located in the high area of Tlaxcala-Country (2600 m above sea level, on the north-side of Mexico City). Most of the fields are located on the hillsides. Water erosion is a big problem for soil fertilization. Corn, beans, pumpkins and wheat are the typical crops in this area. The village people work on small farms of 2-5 hectare land holdings. The project for integrated rural development started in 1982. Itâs target is to make envi-ronmental methods in agriculture save the employment of inhabitants and to consolidate the regional structure. This is the first time that it was ac-knowledged that there were negative results of the âgreen revolutionâ in Tlaxcala. The harvest was lower and the cost of fertilizer and pesticides has increased. Also, the soil has eroded. At this moment, eight farmers of Vicente Guerrero went in for a class on soil protection and soil conserva-tion in Guatemala. This would be their first contact with the principles of ecological agriculture . After this course the farmers have started a consul-tation project in their own village and later for other farmers in the sur-rounding areas. Today eight advisors (2 women) are working with Vicente Guerrero. Many fields are being cultivated ecologically. Other responsibili-ties are the water management, feeding, traditional medicine, environ-mental education and national and international exchange of experiences. Here are some of the best demonstrations in the fields for normal living and some of the best examples of sustainable rural development
Measurement of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in pp and p-Pb collisions with ALICE
ALICE measured electrons from inclusive heavy-flavour hadron decays and
beauty-hadron decays at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at \sqrt{s} = 7 TeV and
2.76 TeV and p-Pb collisions at \sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5.02 TeV. For both pp collision
energies, p_T-differential electron production cross sections are presented and
compared to pQCD predictions. For p-Pb collisions, the p_T-dependent nuclear
modification factor of electrons from inclusive heavy-flavour hadron decays is
presented.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, Proceedings of the Strangeness in Quark Matter

Fourier-Reflexive Partitions and MacWilliams Identities for Additive Codes
A partition of a finite abelian group gives rise to a dual partition on the
character group via the Fourier transform. Properties of the dual partitions
are investigated and a convenient test is given for the case that the bidual
partition coincides the primal partition. Such partitions permit MacWilliams
identities for the partition enumerators of additive codes. It is shown that
dualization commutes with taking products and symmetrized products of
partitions on cartesian powers of the given group. After translating the
results to Frobenius rings, which are identified with their character module,
the approach is applied to partitions that arise from poset structures

Performing class, performing genre : The squire of low degree as fifteenth-century drag
Despite the expansion of Judith Butler's theories of performativity which have proliferated since the publication of Gender Trouble: Feminism and the Subversion of Identity in 1990, few scholars have examined the implications that performativity may have for social class. Fewer still have considered how social class might be performed in the premodern text. In this thesis, I examine how the economic language which pervades the little-studied fifteenth-century romance The Squire of Low Degree enacts a socioeconomic iteration of Butler's theory of performativity. This performance of social class occurs primarily in the speeches of this romance's courtly characters and at the site of the squire's body, as he attempts to rise above his ascribed social class to become a knight and qualify as a suitable partner for his beloved, born of royalty. Finally, this thesis demonstrates not only the social performativity within the poem's narrative, but also the classed performance enacted by the genre of the romance itself, producing a medievalist fantasy of social mobility for the increasingly prominent late medieval gentry classes itself, producing a medievalist fantasy of social mobility for the increasingly prominent late medieval gentry classes.Englis
Church, State, and Moral Values: The Limits of American Pluralism
This thesis aims to help sailboat owners to decide a preferable NACA profile. A CFD comparison in terms of drag and lift coefficients between two NACA profiles have been applied on a typical fin keel. Each profile has been computed with different angles of attack to investigate the impact of small direction changes. ANSYS Fluent 13.0 is used to model the flow according to RANS k-epsilon model. The conclusion is that NACA65 series gives lower drag while NACA64 series gives higher lift.
