The application of electro-coagulation in biodiesel wastewater treatment
A large quantity of oily wastewater is generated by biodiesel refineries which results in terrible environmental pollution and resource utilization problems. This wastewater must be treated before being released into the environment due to it normally rich in biological oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) which usually have damaging and harmful effects on plants, sea, river as well as surface and groundwater sources. Conventional biodiesel wastewater treatment methods such as gravity separation and skimming, air flotation, coagulation, de-emulsification and flocculation, posses several disadvantages including high operation cost, low efficiency, corrosion and recontamination problems. Indeed, most of these conventional methods unable to remove the micron or submicron sized oil droplets efficiently. Currently, new processes for efficient and adequate treatment of various industrial wastewaters with relatively low operating costs have been developed to meet the strict environmental regulations. At this point, the electrocoagulation process has attracted a great deal of attention in treating industrial wastewaters because of its versatility and environmental compatibility. Therefore, in this chapter, the advatages and application of electro-coagulation techniques were reviewed and discussed
Relationship between Macroeconomic Variables and Malaysia Available Shariah Indices
This paper aims to study the relationship between local and foreign macroeconomic variables and Malaysia available Shariah Indices. In our study, we used the Vector Error Correction (VEC) framework by initially looking at the long run and short run relationship between Malaysia available Shariah indices (i.e. KLSI, FTSE Bursa Malaysia EMAS Shariah Index and FTSE Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Shariah Index) and the macroeconomic variables via the Johansen cointegration technique. Monthly data during the twenty two-year period (from January 1990 to December 2011) has been collected from DataStream and tested. The findings show positive relationship between the variables from 1990 to 2006. However, mix results were found after the period till 2011. This study then conclude that the standardized set of macroeconomic variables that specified by earlier researchers still can be relied but in careful policy formulation

Constraints in Implementation of Green Building Projects in Malaysia: A Short Review
Green building (GB) is the foundation of sustainable construction and a part of promoting environmental conservation. Bringing change to the building construction industry requires multiple efforts from various angles especially to overcome any resistances in the form of technology, human aspects, financial and resources. The transition from conventional to sustainable approach consumes time as it requires changes from different facets in the industry ranging from individual, organizational to industry level. In Malaysia, there are various efforts to bring green into the industry but the progress is low moderate. The current review identified the major constraints that hinder a faster progress for green buildings development in Malaysia which include high initial cost, lack of knowledge and awareness among public and industry players, challenges in technology and expertise as well as lack of government enforcement and incentives. The outcomes of this paper will assist in enhancing and improving the sustainable practice in Malaysian’s construction industry for the betterment of life for sustainable communities
Does Urbanization Affects Economic Growth? Panel Analysis on Selected ASEAN Countries
This research study is conducted to examine the relationship between economic development, population, carbon dioxide (CO2) emission, energy consumption and foreign direct investment during the process of urbanization in selected countries namely Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The annual dataset is taken from 2010 to 2017 in World Bank and CEIC. Software Eviews 10 is used for panel data analysis and tests used are Descriptive analysis, Pooled Ordinary Least Square (POLS) Method, Correlation Test, Random Effect Model, Fixed Effect Model, Breusch-Pagan LM test, Hausman Test, Panel Unit Root Test, Panel Cointegration Test and Panel Granger Causality Test. Results shows that all variable data is valid as the mean for each variable was below the
range of minimum and maximum values reflect that there is no possible outlier. In addition, majority of the variables are in 1st order and found to be cointegrated, indicating the existence of a long-term equilibrium relationship between carbon dioxide emissions, FDI, population and energy consumption in terms of GDP. In the short term, there are three uni-directional Granger causality that run from GDP, energy consumption and foreign investment to population, while ECT shows that population and energy use exist in the long run. Policies such as decentralization, business and industry. and human resources need to be implemented by
policy makers in selected ASEAN countries to ensure economic growth without affecting the environment during the process of urbanization
Covid run game serious game for health : Covid-19 preventive care
Since 12th December 2019 , COVID-19 has increasingly spread throughout the world rapidly and the situation is very worrying. They are less aware about the dangerous of COVID-19. Malaysian community fewer preventive information and knowledge, which educate and give awareness about the dangerous of COVID-1
The attitudes of MTUN students towards m-learning usage during COVID-19 Pandemic
Open and Distance Learning (ODL) is an online
Teaching and Learning (T&L) method that has been
implemented to all educational institutions in Malaysia to curb
the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is
to identify the attitude level of Malaysian Technical University
Network (MTUN) students towards the Mobile Learning
(M-learning) usage in ODL methods during the COVID-19
pandemic situation. The total number of respondents involved
was 481 engineering students from four MTUN institutions. The
study design used is quantitative which uses a questionnaire as a
research instrument. The questionnaire used measures three
elements of students' attitudes in the aspect of affective,
behavior and cognitive towards M-learning implementation.
Results were analyzed using descriptive statistics involving the
use of mean and standard deviation while inferential statistics
involved One-way ANOVA analysis. Result shows that attitudes
level of MTUN students towards M-learning was at moderate
level for two (2) aspects of affective and cognitive while the
behavior aspect was rated at high level. Meanwhile, the result of
one-way ANOVA showed no significant difference between the
attitudes of student towards ODL across year of studies.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the students of MTUN
institutions had positive attitudes towards the implementation
of M-learning with year of study in the university does not have
influence on student’s attitude towards M-learning
environment. It is advisable that the use of M-learning in the
future needs to be enriched with the features of 21st century
learning as to enhance students learning experiences

Biomechanics Measurements in Archery
The purpose of this study is to measure the biomechanics parameters of the sport of archery and correlate these with the games performance. Archery is becoming a sport that may potentially success in the 2016 Olympic Games. Therefore, research in this sport can be directly relevant to athlete’s performance during games tournaments. This research is considered as a preliminary study to measure the biomechanics parameters that can be applied to the professional athlete. Biomechanics parameters such as muscle activity, heartbeat, balance and body posture as well as the draw force line were selected as important parameters related to the athlete’s performance. The subject in this study shot arrows on a force plate while a high speed video camera captured the arrow velocity, body posture and elbow angle. Furthermore, these parameters are then correlated with the point of the target or the archer’s performance in order to propose the correct shooting technique. The findings of this study are the draw force line angle, the most active muscle, the foot weight balance and the aiming concentration release time. All the results will help both coach and athlete to improve the performance of the sport, and especially assist both beginner level archers aiming to become expert and elite players
