This study entitled Language Allegories in Ratu Sikumbang set of songs. This study aimed to describe the types of figurative language and meaning contained in Ratu Sikumbang set of songs. This research uses descriptive method. The object of this study is figurative language and meaning of figurative language. The data source is the object of this study are the songs contained in a collection of songs Ratu Sikumbang. This research process qualitative data. To obtain the data and document engineering researchers conducted a study or library. Data in the form of lyrics that correspond to figures of speech in Ratu Sikumbang set of songs. Data obtained using qualitative analysis techniques and validity of the data obtained with the technique of the adequacy of reference, discussion and triangulation. Ratu Sikumbang collection of songs produced by Agri'e and Al-Glory. A collection of songs Ratu Sikumbang totaling 53 songs. The results of this study are as follows. (1) The types of figurative language found amounted to 102 the data; 5 metaphors, hyperbole 24, 24, parable, allegory 22, 9 parable, fable 1, 2 personification, one epithet, 1 sinekdoke, 2 metonymy, antonomasia 9, 1 1 hipalase and satire. The specificity of figurative language used every song lies in the use of words that come from the environment, and the words derived from the expression of feelings of the author; (2) The meanings of figurative language that amounted to 102, has diverse meanings based on the use of figurative language found in the collection of the song Ratu Sikumbang. The meaning of life in the form of hardship, heartbreak, insults and expression of love to the mother. The specificity of meaning used by the composer lies in the use of figurative language from the natural surroundings containing social and cultural dimensions of West Sumatra

Variabilitas Fenotipik Hasil Persilangan Mentimun Padang Generasi F2

Mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.) varietas Padang memiliki kelemahan pada ukuran dan bobot buah yang relatif kecil serta umur simpan yang pendek. Perbaikan karakter mentimun Padang dilakukan dengan cara melakukan persilangan varietas galur murni mentimun Padang dengan genotipe lain yang memiliki karakter baik yang diinginkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat variabilitas fenotipik populasi hasil persilangan mentimun Padang generasi F2 dan mendapatkan tanaman mentimun Padang dengan karakter buah dan umur simpan yang lebih baik dari mentimun Padang. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan besarnya variabilitas fenotipik karakter pertumbuhan dan pembungaan tanaman, bobot buah segar dan umur simpan buah. Populasi N2, N3, N4 dan N7 memiliki karakter buah dan umur simpan yang lebih baik dari mentimun Padang sehingga berpotensi untuk dilanjutkan untuk mendapatkan generasi F3

Produksi dan Karakterisasi Enzim Kitinase dari Bakteri Kitinolitik Asal Kerang Anadara Granosa

This research aims to investigate the maximal generation time and the characterization of chitinase enzyme of Chitinolytic bacteria from Anadara granosa shell in various pH, temperature and substrate concentration. The result of the maximal time of Chitinolytic bacteria was showed at 120 hours. The result of Chitinolytic bacteria characteristic in various pH shows that the highest activity of chitinase is on pH 6 and in various temperature shows that the highest activity at 350C while in various substrate concentration shows that the highest activity value of chitinase is on substrate concentration 0.5%

We questioned 180 patients with end-stage renal disease on maintenance haemodialysis, chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and those who had undergone renal transplantation at the Department of Nephrology, General Hospital, Kuala Lumpur. Twelve patients (6.7%) had consumed excessive quantities ofanalgesics prior to the institution oflong-term dialysis or transplantation. Primary renal disease was considered to be analgesic nephropathy in seven patients (3.9%); in five patients (2.8%), analgesic abuse could have been a contributory factor to end-stage renal failure. Analgesic nephropathy is hence an uncommon cause of end-stage renal disease in Malaysia. However, it is important to be aware of the problem and to institute preventive measures as the cost of treatment for end-stage renal disease is prohibitive

A Game Experience Scoring Approach on Digital Educational Games and Cognitive Styles Behaviour

Assessing game experience on Digital Educational Games (DEGs) can enhance knowledge on users behaviour and experiences. The growth and popularity for DEGs among the young continues to evolve therefore further studies remains required. This study investigated how game experiences were related to children’s cognitive styles (i.e., focused attention and interaction strategies) on DEGs. In this study, a game experience scoring approach was used to examine the cognitive styles. Preliminary results presented that the Working Area of the DEG influenced a child's game experience and the Distractor was less seen by children during the interactive sorting activity. Focus attention on the Working Area and Banner works closely together (p<.05) indicating that children revisit items for confirmations. As for game experience on interaction strategies, an enjoyable game experience can be achieved when a child practice structured gameplay that develops into attention and engagement. Overall this study expands the knowledge of objects in game design and human behaviour for young children in DEGs

Effect of flecainide derivatives on sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium release suggests a lack of direct action on the cardiac ryanodine receptor

Background and Purpose Flecainide is a use-dependent blocker of cardiac Na+ channels. Mechanistic analysis of this block showed that the cationic form of flecainide enters the cytosolic vestibule of the open Na+ channel. Flecainide is also effective in the treatment of catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia but, in this condition, its mechanism of action is contentious. We investigated how flecainide derivatives influence Ca2+-release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum through the ryanodine receptor channel (RyR2) and whether this correlates with their effectiveness as blockers of Na+ and/or RyR2 channels. Experimental Approach We compared the ability of fully charged (QX-FL) and neutral (NU-FL) derivatives of flecainide to block individual recombinant human RyR2 channels incorporated into planar phospholipid bilayers, and their effects on the properties of Ca2+ sparks in intact adult rat cardiac myocytes. Key Results Both QX-FL and NU-FL were partial blockers of the non-physiological cytosolic to luminal flux of cations through RyR2 channels but were significantly less effective than flecainide. None of the compounds influenced the physiologically relevant luminal to cytosol cation flux through RyR2 channels. Intracellular flecainide or QX-FL, but not NU-FL, reduced Ca2+ spark frequency. Conclusions and Implications Given its inability to block physiologically relevant cation flux through RyR2 channels, and its lack of efficacy in blocking the cytosolic-to-luminal current, the effect of QX-FL on Ca2+ sparks is likely, by analogy with flecainide, to result from Na+ channel block. Our data reveal important differences in the interaction of flecainide with sites in the cytosolic vestibules of Na+ and RyR2 channels

Packaging design as a marketing and branding strategy for Kampar pineapple chips products

Pineapple is a popular crop in the peatlands of Riau province. One of the centers for pineapple production in Riau Province is Kualu Nanas Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. Pineapple is processed into chips, one of Riau Province's typical souvenirs. The pineapple chip industry in Kampar Regency faces various obstacles, such as very simple product packaging, short shelf life, varied or negotiable prices, and sub-optimal distribution and marketing. This study aimed to analyze marketing strategies and update the packaging design of pineapple chips to increase sales of pineapple chips. This research uses quantitative descriptive analysis methods (IFE and EFE matrix analysis) and qualitative descriptive analysis (SWOT analysis). Primary data was collected by survey method through interviews and field observations, while secondary data was collected by literature study. The IFE matrix has a score of 2.6165, while the matrix EFE score is 2,5195. One of the results of formulating the pineapple chips marketing strategy is the renewal of the packaging design and improving product marketing through digital marketing
