The quality of life in children with cerebral palsy is very important to be studied along with the factors that influence it to improve the quality of health services. The Problem of quality of life in children with cerebral palsy is not only influenced by socio-economic aspect, but also health aspect, such as physical health, pain and motor limitation which is experienced by children. This study aims to determine the relationship between gross motor skills and the quality of life of children with cerebral palsy in Makassar. This study used a cross-sectional design with thirty people as the sample (n = 30). They are students who got cerebral palsy at SLB YPAC Makassar, SLB Negeri 1 Pembina at South Sulawesi Province, SLB Laniang and SLB Reskiani Makassar. There are several primary data collected including gross motor skills and quality of life. The data were collected using the PedsQLTM 3.0 questionnaire for the cerebral palsy module and the GMFCS-E & R (Gross Motor Function Classification System Expanded and Resived) measurement guide. Based on the results of the analysis of the relationship test with the fisher exact test, it was found a significance value (p) of 0,037 (p <0.05) with a relative risk value for poor and very bad quality of life, namely 0.714, which means that there is a relationship between gross motor skills and quality of life, with children cerebral palsy who have mild and moderate gross motor skills have a chance to have very poor and poor quality of life 0.714 times less than cerebral palsu children who have severe gross motor skills (N = 30)

Semakin besar nilai kekuatan otot lengan, semakin tinggi kecepatan renang

The Correlation Between Working Posture and Work Duration and Non-Specific Neck Pain Symptoms in Computer User Employees

Introduction: Longer work processes with non-ergonomic working postures by employees who use computers can certainly cause musculoskeletal tension. One of the musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) associated with computer use is complaints of non-specific neck pain caused by a non-ergonomic posture of the neck muscles over a long period, which causes muscle tension. This study aims to determine the relationship between working posture and duration of work using a computer on non-specific neck pain complaints among Hasanuddin University Rectorate employees.Method: A cross-sectional research design was carried out on 121 administrative employees aged 22 years who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Assessment of working posture uses the Baseline Risk Identification of Ergonomic Factor (BRIEF) questionnaire, and for non-specific neck pain complaints using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. The Spearman's rho correlation test analyzes the relationship between variables.Results: 49 out of 121 respondents had a high-risk working posture for non-specific neck pain, and 59 out of 121 had a long working duration. Working posture is positively correlated with symptoms of non-specific neck pain (p = 0.001; r = 0.598). In contrast, work duration did not correlate with symptoms of non-specific neck pain (p = 0.063; r = 0.169).Conclusion: High-risk working postures can predict the incidence of non-specific neck pain in office administration employees. This can be a consideration for office leaders to pay attention to the working posture of their employees.Key words: Duration, non-specific neck pain, working postur

The Effect of Bridging Exercise and Heel Rises Exercise on Balance Post Stroke in Makassar City

    Get PDF
Post-stroke sensory motor disorders will also result in disturbances in the sensory and motor components which cause disturbances in the posture control system so that it is unable to maintain body balance in certain positions. One of the rehabilitation programs that are often used to restore function due to motor deficits is Bridging Exercise and Heel Raises Exercise. Bridging exercise is an exercise to strengthen and stabilize the gluteus, hip and lower back. This exercise is a great way to isolate and strengthen the gluteus and hamstring (back of the upper leg) muscles. Heel raises exercise is an exercise to strengthen the leg muscles, especially the gastrocnemius muscles and plantar flexion muscles which can have effects on the nerves and skeleton. From this stimulation, when it reaches proprioception, the body will maintain balance. The method used is a quasy experiment with a pretest-posttest two-group design. And it was found that the results of this study showed that there was an effect of bridging exercise 0.001 (p<0.05) and heel raises exercise 0.002 (p<0.05) in improving the balance of post-stroke patients. So it can be concluded that the two exercises can improve the balance of post-stroke patients

This study aims to determine the effect of workplace stretching exercise with kinesiotapping on reducing Musculoskeletal Disorders complaints in loading and unloading workers at Makassar City Port. This study is a quasi-experimental study with the dependent treatment variable in the form of workplace stretching exercise with Kinesiotapping, while the dependent variable is complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders, the intervention is given 2 times a week for 2 months. The research design is a quasi experiment with a pretest-post test two group design. The research population is loading and unloading workers at the port of Makassar city. The number of samples is 20 people who are divided into 2 groups, namely the Kinesiotaping group and the workplace exercise group of 10 people each. This study uses VAS to measure Musculoskeletal Disorders pain before and after workplace stretching exercise treatment for treatment group I, and kinesiotapping for treatment group II. giving Workplace Stretching Exercise can reduce pain significantly with a value of <0.05 from 4.53 to 3.60 (scale 0-10). This shows that H0 is rejected, meaning that there is an effect of Workplace Stretching Exercise on the complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders. Kinesiotapping can significantly reduce pain with a value of <0.05 from 4.73 to 3.93 (scale 0-10). This shows that H0 is rejected, meaning that there is an effect of kinesiotapping on the complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders

Elderly is the process of slowly disappearing the ability of tissues to repair themselves / replace and maintain their normal structure and function so that they cannot survive the traces (including infection) and repair the damage suffered. Problems that are often experienced by the elderly are decreased bone density and balance problems. In every body activity or movement, the body will always need balance both statically and dynamically so that the position of the human body becomes stable and reduces the risk of falling. This study aims to determine the effect of elderly exercise on bone density and balance in the elderly at the Hati Mulia Foundation, Takalar Regency. This study uses a quasi-experimental research design with a pretest-post-test one group design. The research population is the elderly at the Hati Mulia Foundation, Takalar Regency. The number of samples was 30 people who were divided into 2 groups, namely the control group carried out by the Batara Hati Mulia Gowa Foundation and the control group each 15 people by the Batara Hati Mulia Takalar Foundation. This study used bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to measure bone density and Stork Stand Test to measure balance before and after the Elderly exercise treatment for the treatment group, while the control group was not given any intervention
