    This research was conducted in three locations, namely hotels in Makassar, Bali, and Jakarta. This study aims to see the marketing innovation strategies carried out by the three hotels in tourism recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is the Mix method with SWOT analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was found that promotions carried out through advertisements in newspapers, magazines, the internet, radio, and environmental activities themselves were quite good. carry out various innovations in terms of management, especially in the field of computerization related to finance and also employees. In addition, the hotel also reduces the number of employees.     This study analyses the actual condition of a tourism village from a sustainable tourism perspective. There is limited study on the implementation of sustainable tourism in tourism villages. This study aims to 1) identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing sustainable tourism; 2) analyse the steps or efforts in achieving sustainable tourism villages. Qualitative research has guided the researchers in collecting data in Paccekke Village, Barru Regency, in 2021. The results reveal supporting and inhibiting factors for implementing sustainable tourism villages. The supporting factors are the natural and cultural potential of the village; sustainable natural conditional; positive attitude of the community towards tourism and the culture of collaborative work (gotong royong); the existence of cultural events; and commitment of local stakeholders. The inhibiting factors are limited facilities and infrastructure, weak planning in the tourism sector, extreme accessibility; weak internet network; and the low awareness and ability of the community in managing tourism potential. This study recommends the importance of utilising the existence of tourist villages in the Barru Regency as a whole in order to improve the quality of tourist visits. Utilising social media as a promotional tool, anticipating the impact of massive visits on environmental quality, and collaborating with various stakeholders for community involvement are strategies to implement sustainable tourism villages. This study provides an overview of the factual conditions of a village, not only from a positive perspective but also obstacles that require solutions or strategies for a sustainable tourism village

    Lombok tourism industry requires systematic human resource management through MICE education to compete at the global level. The initial strategy needed is to conduct a market feasibility study on the proposed establishment of MICE Study Program. This study aims to explain the various factors determining the interest of prospective students and the perception of tourism stakeholders on the proposed establishment of a Convention and Event Management Study Program at Lombok Tourism Polytechnic. The case study method with a qualitative descriptive approach was applied towards 252 vocational students. The study showed that the interest of students in continuing their studies is perceived high determined by six factors. Furthermore, the tourism stakeholders shows their support for the proposed establishment of the study program. This study is expected to be a fundamental basis in strengthening the competitiveness of MICE in Lombok

    Empirical data on how the local governments implement tourism innovation is very limited. Thus, it is necessary to explore how the regional board of tourism develops tourism potential through innovative approach.The aims of this research are to explore the festival of Habibie-Ainun as well as to recommend ways in optimizing the festival for community welfare.This research is a qualitative study by interviewing (in-depth interview) four staff at the regional board of tourism as well as doing participant observation at Parepare city.The research reveals that Habibie-Ainun is choosen as an icon of tourism because of the enchantment of Habibie, the former president of Indonesia who was born in Parepare city.Habibie-Ainun festival, becak of tourism and the statue of Habibie-Ainun are considered as innovative strategies in attracting tourists.This research suggests that strategy of Habibie-Ainun should be supported with various and continuous activities that may involve tourists particularly in the area of the statue.The local government should also inform the community on how the strategy can help community improve their income through tourism. Innovative strategies may come from the community, and thus, it is important to strengthen synergy between the local government and the community

    Overcoming local human resources barriers in tourism industry : Case study on West Nusa Tenggara Indonesia

    Tourism industry in Indonesia is hindered by barriers in its development. There are internal barriers (denial from immigrant, old tradition) and also external barriers (new skill, Covid-19 pandemic) that affect its governance. All of them stem from human resources problems that should be overcome immediately. Using funding from the Ministry of Tourism, this research aims to address said barriers and overcome human resources problems in the tourism industry, especially in Nusa Tenggara Barat. The researchers who are based in Tourism Polytechnic Lombok seek the answers from vocational higher education overview. The answers are gathered by summarizing from the Focus Group Discussion process and also benchmarking with another tourism polytechnic in Indonesia. The results are as follows: (1) NTB, as a unique combination of the tourism industry, has big potential and upcoming modern destination (Mandalika) which should become better in the future, (2) Internal barriers factor can be overcome by optimizing local human resources, (3) In problem-solving of external barrier factor, Tourism Polytechnic should also provide IT skills to support e-tourism implementation, and (4) Human resources problem in the tourism industry has a root cause in early vocational higher education which holds important factors in overcoming the problems
