Ontogeny of a human being is influenced by several innate and environmental factors. One of the key environmental factors is family, its structure, and the dynamics of family relationships. These can depend, among other things, on the birth order. Relatively a lot of research has been conducted to study the effect of birth order on humans, but the area of human sexuality is often neglected. Research in this area has so far yielded relatively inconsistent results and needs to be expanded further with new knowledge. That is the main goal of this diploma thesis. In our cross-sectional study, 4495 subjects from two-child families were analyzed. We performed a partial correlation analysis of birth order and selected variables related to human sexuality, considering the sex of siblings. Particular attention was paid to the first sexual experience, the number of sexual partners, sociosexual orientation (SOI-R), and dominant-submissive sexual preferences. We found that the order of birth is related to several of these variables (age of first sexual experience, number of sexual partners, sexual preferences), but the key role is played by the combination of the individual's gender and the sex of his sibling. These results should be followed up by more detailed research within specific families to verify the..

7 Abstract This thesis presents the case of the Collective House (Koldům) in Litvínov, Czech Republic in the period of 1945-60. The house with its 352 flats was built between 1947- 1957 by a local chemical factory for its employees, mainly for families with children. House's collective facilities should have made child- and household care easier. Koldům was also supposed to offer colorful social life. I have tried to depict the beginnings of living in Koldům, the use of collective facilities and social life in the house, supported by memories of informants, who settled down in Koldům in the 1950s and have been living there since. The memories of the informants showed, that the newcomers used spaces and facilities of the house according to their lifestyles. Some services, offered to the inhabitants were therefore more successful than others. Considering the high living standards offered in Koldům, the inhabitants perceived living there as very status-important. This has changed a lot until today. Shared images of the past serve as a powerful tool of legitimization for the community of the original inhabitants, amongst them the informants belong, and serve as a tool, by which the difference between the past and the presence is emphasized. In contrast to the past, the presence is perceived as declining,..

Motor skills of children with autistic spectrum disorder

    No full text
The contribution contains results of a research of motor skills of children with autistic spectrum disorder. The group of children represents besides major triad of symptoms, also described difficulties in the field of motor skills. Our aim to find out what motor skills of these children are in comparison with intact population and what differences are found in individual motor items, i.e. in fine motor skills, gross motor skills and in balance. The data was gained with the use of standardized Movement Assessment Battery test for Children 2 (MABC-2). Objective testing of this group of children is relatively difficult. There were successfully tested 36 children with ASD during this phase of research. The research demonstrated evident motor disorder at 86% of children in the observed sample. Statistically significant were worse results in the field of fine motor skills compared to the results in gross motor skills and balance
