    The assistant principal in curriculum affairs is a strategic position, so it is necessary to carry out training for these office holders to carry out their roles properly. For training to run well, it needs to be preceded by implementing a training needs analysis. The study aims to analyze the training's need for an assistant principal in public elementary school curriculum affairs. The questions posed in the research were 1) What is the assistant principal's competency profile in the curriculum affairs?; 2) Are there differences in the assistant principal's competency mastery in the curriculum affairs based on the educational background?; 3) What are the compulsory training that needs to be developed to improve the performance of assistant principals in curriculum affairs?; 4) What optional training needs to be developed to strengthen assistant principals' performance in curriculum affairs?. The research method used was a mixed-method, with univariate statistical analysis techniques. This study population consisted of 68 assistant principals in the curriculum affairs, with a sample of 58 respondents. Research respondents came from Cempaka Putih, Johar Baru, Senen, and Kemayoran. The results of the research were: 1) The assistant principal still needs strengthening of the competence in the field of duties related to curriculum development; 2) There is a significant difference between the educational background of the respondent and the competence they have; 3) Compulsory training that needs to be developed for all assistant principals in curriculum affairs is curriculum development competency; 4) Optional training that needs to be developed for assistant principals in curriculum affairs is student management training, personnel, finance, infrastructure, and information technology training. Research is expected to provide input for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology to include curriculum development competencies as the competence of assistant principals in curriculum affairs. Moreover, The research is expected to provide input for developing the assistant principal's training in curriculum affairs

    Prevalence of Subclinical Mastitis in the Local Goats in the Province of Laghouat (ALGERIA)

    Subclinical mastitis is a disease of the udder that passes mostly unnoticed. Or several germs associated with it and their presence in milk constitutes a major risk to consumer health. Our study aims to determine the prevalence of subclinical mastitis in local goats in Laghouat region (Algeria). We undertook a study based on the detection of sub-clinical mastitis by Califirnian Mastitis Test (CMT) in 60 goats aged 1 to 9 years and weighing 18 to 45 kg of live weight and whose lactation number varies from 2 to 8. We found a prevalence of subclinical mastitis reaching 46.6%. A clearly significant difference (P <0.05) is reported on this prevalence compared to age. The highest rate is recorded especially in goats aged between 3 to 7 years with 62% of detected subclinical mastitis, followed by the older goats (over 7 years) with a prevalence of 27%, and at the end the youngest goats (1-3 years) with a prevalence of 11%. A significant difference was also recorded between the different lactation ranks (P <0.05). The goats having the highest rank of lactation were most affected by subclinical mastitis. Prevalence of 46%, 31%, 11% and 8% respectively are found for the 6th rank of lactation and more, 4 lactations, 5 lactations and 1 lactation. We noticed that the majority of diagnosed mastitis were caused by poor hygiene conditions. This study allows us to conclude that there is a high prevalence of subclinical mastitis in the local goats in the province of Laghouat (Algeria)

    Estrous cycle length in the algerian arbia goat: exfoliative vaginal cytology and serum progesterone levels

    This study aimed to estimate the estrous cycle length of the Algerian Arbia goat in Northern Algeria. For this, eighteen (18) Arbia goats, aged between 2 and 6 years, were used in our work that took place in the experimental farm of the Saad Dahlab University (Blida, Algeria). Blood samples were taken from each goat twice a week (at a 2 or 3-day interval) for 3 months. The serum progesterone concentration was determined by Radio-Immuno-Assay. Smears of the vaginal mucosa were taken at the same time as the blood samples. The predominance of superficial cells on the smear of the vaginal mucosa as well as a serum progesterone level less than 1 ng/mL expressed the return to estrous which was considered the beginning of a new cycle. A negative correlation was observed between the percentage of superficial cells (SC) and serum progesterone (P4) levels in all goats. Our results showed a significant difference (P<0.05) between the means of different cycle lengths obtained among the females. In addition, normal cycles had an average of 20.11±1.85 days (17-25 days) representing 59.6% of cycles. Besides, a large number of short cycles (<17 days) with an average of 14.41±1.51 days were found representing 25.5% of recorded cycles. The number of long cycles (>25 days; with an average of 32.14±5.58 days), represented 14.9% of recorded cycles. Following these results, it can be concluded that the local goat in Northern Algeria had different types of cycles (normal, short, and long) with a large percentage of normal cycles

    The LHCb upgrade I

    The LHCb upgrade represents a major change of the experiment. The detectors have been almost completely renewed to allow running at an instantaneous luminosity five times larger than that of the previous running periods. Readout of all detectors into an all-software trigger is central to the new design, facilitating the reconstruction of events at the maximum LHC interaction rate, and their selection in real time. The experiment's tracking system has been completely upgraded with a new pixel vertex detector, a silicon tracker upstream of the dipole magnet and three scintillating fibre tracking stations downstream of the magnet. The whole photon detection system of the RICH detectors has been renewed and the readout electronics of the calorimeter and muon systems have been fully overhauled. The first stage of the all-software trigger is implemented on a GPU farm. The output of the trigger provides a combination of totally reconstructed physics objects, such as tracks and vertices, ready for final analysis, and of entire events which need further offline reprocessing. This scheme required a complete revision of the computing model and rewriting of the experiment's software

    Penelitian dilatarbelakangi proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru di SD Negeri Pancasila yang tidak memperhatikan modalitas belajar yang dimiliki siswa. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian yaitu bagaimana gambaran umum modalitas belajar dan prestasi belajar siswa dan seberapa besarkah hubungan antara modalitas belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa. Tujuan Penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara modalitas belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa kelas V SDN Pancasila Tahun Ajaran 2010/2011. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan desain penelitian korelasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukan siswa kelas V SDN Pancasila dominan memiliki modalitas belajar auditori dan memiliki prestasi belajar yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Uji korelasi menunjukan tidak terdapat hubungan antara modalitas belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa. Saran penelitian ditujukan kepada guru SDN Pancasila agar menggunakan model Cooperative Learning dalam mengajar yang disesuaikan dengan modalitas belajar siswa; kepada peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan dapat memperbanyak subjek penelitian dan melakukan penelitian di jenjang pendidikan menengah seperti SMP dan SMA
