    Serum prolactin, Preptin, CCL 18 and genetic polymorphisms in Iraqi women with polycystic ovary syndrome

    تعتبر متلازمة تكيس المبايض من اضطرابات الغدد الصماء وهي أكثر الاضطرابات انتشارا بين النساء وأحد الأسباب الرئيسية لضعف الخصوبة عند النساء. أجريت الدراسة على 100 امرأة عراقية (50 مريضة تم تشخيصهن بمرض متلازمة تكيس المبايض و 50 عينة من نسوة صحيحات تم الحصول على عينات الدم من المعهد المتقدم لتشخيص العقم والتكنولوجيا الإنجابية / جامعة النهرين ومختبر خاص بين تشرين الاول 2019 واذار 2020. تم تقييم المعلمات البيوكيميائية لـAFIAS-6و Preptin و FSH والأنسولين و LH و CCL 18 في عينات المصل بواسطة التحاليل المناعية المرتبطة (ELISA).أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن قيم البرولاكتين (نانوغرام / مل(  LH ,(mlU / مل) ، بريتين (بيكوغرام / مل) وCCL 18(نانوغرام / مل) كانت أعلى بشكل ملحوظ في متلازمة تكيس المبايض  مقارنة بمجموعة التحكم.(p <0.001) كانت قيم هرمون التستوستيرون (نانوغرام / مل) و FSH (mIU / ml) أعلى بشكل ملحوظ (p <0.05) ، وزادت مستويات التعبير الجيني PRLR في مرضى متلازمة تكيس المبايض بشكل ملحوظ بمقدار 3. 6مرات.نستنتج من ذلك ان من الممكن اعتبار مستويات البريتين و CCL18 كواسم لـمتلازمة تكيس المبايض.The polycystic ovary syndrome is an endocrine condition. One of the leading causes of female infertility and the most common disorder among women. The work was being carried out on 100 Iraqi women (50 cases confirmed with PCOS and 50 controls). Between October 2019 and March 2020, blood samples were collected from the Advanced Institute of Infertility Diagnosis and Assisted Reproductive Technology at AL-Nahrain University and a private laboratory. ELISA was used to evaluate the biochemical parameters of preptin, FSH, insulin, LH, and CCL 18 in serum samples from the AFIAS-6 (AFIAS Automated Immunoassay System). The findings of the analysis indicate that, as opposed to the control group, values of prolactin (ng/ml), LH (mIU/ml), Preptin (pg/ml) and CCL 18 (ng/ml) Quite higher in PCOS sickness (p < 0.001) Compared with the patient group, the values of testosterone (ng/ml) and FSH (mIU/ml) was noticeably higher (p <0.05), and PRLR gene expression levels in PCOS patients were significantly increased by 3.6 times. I n summary, the levels of Preptin and CCL18 can be regarded as PCOS markers

    Influence of the Icelandic Low latitude on the frequency of Greenland tip jet events : implications for Irminger Sea convection

The definitive version was published in Journal of Geophysical Research 112 (2007): C04020, doi:10.1029/2006JC003807.The occurrence of Greenland tip jet events has been reported as the dominant factor controlling the formation of intermediate water in the Irminger Sea. It has been suggested that the frequency of these events is correlated with the North Atlantic Oscillation. To examine this process in more detail, we separate the North Atlantic Oscillation into Icelandic Low and Azores High components and carry out a regression fit of the frequency of tip jet events between 1961 and 2005. Our findings suggest that the frequency of Greenland tip jet events is highly dependent on the latitude of the Icelandic Low and the 2-year time-lagged February Icelandic Low latitude, with R2 = 0.48. We find that the winds near the southern tip of Greenland are predominately westerly during years when the Iceland Low is located above 63°N latitude. These conditions also correspond to colder air temperatures in the Labrador and Irminger Seas, implying larger oceanic heat losses due to the Greenland tip jet events and hence stronger convective overturning in the Irminger Sea.R.     Evaluation of Electrolytes Disturbances in Iraqi Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Patients treated with Nilotinib with Monitoring of Response by FISH Study

    Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder characterized by the presence Philadelphia chromosome (Ph) which was created by a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22 (t [9;22] [q34;q11]. The approval of the 2nd generation TKI ( Nilotinib) takes the treatment of CML patients into new erea with more efficiency and mild to moderate adverse effects. This study was aimed at evaluation of molecular cytogenetic response by (FISH) for Nilotinib in Iraqi patients with assessment for electrolytes disturbances of Nilotinb by measuring a panel of electrolyte (Na+, K+, Ca++, PO4--- and Mg++) , where thirty Iraqi patients with CML who have resistance or no response to Imatinib treatment, attending to Baghdad Teaching Hospital/Hematology Department, have been submitted to this study. Blood samples have been taken pre and post starting treatment with Nilotinib, FISH study was done only for CML patients, while 30 normal healthy control volunteers submitted to the same panel of electrolytes measurements (Na+, K+, Ca++, PO4--- and Mg++) in addition to pre and post treatment Nilotinib patients. The results show out of 30 patients (17) males and (13) females with male to female ratio 1.3:1, FISH results for patients (pre and post) treatment mean±SD were(58.7%±26.2 % and 45.7%±29.9%) obviously significant with good cytogenetic response in resistance CML for Imatinib. Sodium levels in mmol/L pre, post treatment and control mean±SD were (139.2±6.9 , 142.4±9.2 and 140.4±2.52) respectively, with no significant difference between each other with P value > 0.05 in all comparisons. Potassium levels mean±SD in mmol/L results for patients (pre, post) and control were (4.6±0.69, 4.3±0.68 and 4.46±0.76) respectively, with no significant difference between each other with P value > 0.05 in all comparisons. Calcium levels in mg/dL results for patients (pre, post) and control as mean±SD were (8.68 ±1.68, 8.1±1.72 and 9.12±0.38) respectively with no significant differences except between post treatment and control group with P value > 0.05 in all comparisons. Phosphate levels in mg/dL results for patients (pre, post) and control as mean±SD were (2.5±0.84, 2.95±1.04 and 3.4±0.49) respectively with significant difference with P value 0.05 in all comparisons. This study sheds a light on the molecular cytogenetic response for CML patients who have already resistance to Imatinib and Nilotinib that has much more potent effect as approved by studies and this study has used FISH technique. This study emphasizes on the importance of evaluation of electrolyte panel for CML patients before starting Nilotinib study taking in to consideration if these patients are already receiving Imatinib which can also affect bone metabolism and calcium and phosphate levels

    Microbial lipases are an important group of biotechnologically valuable enzymes, because of the versatility of their applied properties and ease of mass production. Lipases of microbial origin are widely diversified in their enzymatic properties and substrate specificity, which make them very attractive for industrial applications. This review describes the applications of microbial lipases in detergents. Enzymes can reduce the environmental load of detergent products as the chemicals used in conventional detergents are reduced; they are biodegradable, non-toxic and leave no harmful residues. Besides lipases, other enzymes are widely used in household cleaning products, in laundering, medical, agriculture, etc. This article also reviews the use of enzymes, especially lipases as detergents and different types of lipase containing detergents available in the market.Key words: Detergents, enzymes, lipases

    دائما ما تعاني المناطق الصحراوية من نقص المياه النقية في أجزء كبير منها. وفي هذه المناطق، تكون المياه العذبة نادرة جدا حيث أن المياه التي يتم الحصول عليها من المستنقعات أو آبار المياه الجوفية هي مياه مالحة، ومن الضروري تنقيتها أو تقطيرها. وفي الدراسة التجريبية الحالية، تم إنشاء تصميم جديد لتحسين إنتاجية المياه العذبة لهرم التقطير الشمسي باستخدام السخان مغمور من نوع DC. إنه يبحث في تأثير المروحة الخارجية لتبريد سطح الزجاج. تم إجراء التجربة في فصل الصيف في ظروف العراق عند خط العرض (33.2 درجة شمالاً). يتم اختيار هرم التقطير الشمسي الزجاجي ذا زاوية ميل 32.5 درجة في هذا البيحث. نظرًا لأن التقطير الشمسي لا يزال يستخدم بصورة أكبر بالنسبة لأعماق المياه المنخفضة، لذلك فإن مستوى المياه في الحوض السفلي يبقى عند ارتفاع 3 سم. لوحظ من النتائج التجريبية أن انتاج المياه العذبة زادت بنسبة كبيرة قدرها 370 ٪ عندما تم استخدام سخان المياه DC لكل قدرة 350 واط. أثناء استخدام مروحة التبريد الخارجية، كانت إنتاجية المياه العذبة تتناقص بنسبة (7٪) و (15٪) لسرعات الرياح البالغة (7 م / ث) و (9 م / ث) على التوالي.A deserted reign always suffers from lack of pure water in a large part of its area. In this area, valuable fresh water from swamps or ground water wells is salt water, and it is necessary purified or distillated.  In the current experimental study, a new design is made to improve the yield of fresh water of a pyramid solar still by using an immersion type DC- water heater. It investigates the effect of an external fan to cool the glass surface. The Experiment was take placed in the summer season in Iraq conditions at latitude (33.2 ° N). A solar still with 32.5°glass slope angle is chosen in our work. As the productivity of a solar still is more for low water depths, the water level in the bottom basin maintained at 3 cm. The experimental outcomes observed that the yield of fresh water increased by a significant 370% when DC water heater each having 350 W capacities was used. During used the external cooling fan the productivity of fresh water was existed to decrease by (7%) and (15%) for wind speeds of (7 m/s) and (9 m/s) respectively. A good comparison takes placed with other experimental study was taken

    On the mathematical complexity and the time implementation of proposed variants of elliptic curves cryptosystems

    The group of the elliptic curve points forms an abelian group, which is considered as a suitable choice for constructing a problem similar to the Discrete Logarithm Problem. This creates and opens a new door for treatments of the special group and new operations. In 2005, Al-Saffar (2005) proposed two new methods for elliptic curve cryptosystems using the keys from the algorithm of Diffie–Hellman Key Exchange. In addition, she introduced a variant of the ElGamal scheme. Also, three propositions were introduced to develop the Menezes-Vanstone Elliptic Curves Cryptosystem (MVECC). In this paper, we will discuss all of these propositions and will compare them with the original schemes (ElGamal and MVECC) according to the complexity and the time which they took to implement each scheme
