F-DCTCP: Fair Congestion Control for SDN-Based Data Center Networks

    Get PDF
Network congestion control and management has long been a major issue in providing low-latency, high throughput and high link-utilisation. In particular, Data Center Network (DCN) environments, often dominated by partition-aggregate workloads, suffer performance collapse due to TCP Incast caused by inadequate congestion control parameters. This paper proposes a step in solving this problem. In particular, we describe a novel framework to overcome and control congestion in DCNs based on Software Defined Networking (SDN). We propose a native SDN-based congestion control mechanism, termed Fair Data Center TCP (F-DCTCP). As we shall see, the experimental results show that F-DCTCP outperforms all previous proposals by providing the best combined overall performance in terms of throughout, fairness and flow completion times, making it highly attractive for next generation networks

This research is purpose to detemine the amount of invesment, income, profit also feasibility of tilapia cultivation in the pond in Tebing Tinggi Village, district of Benai, Regency of Kuantan Singingi. The method used based on case study. Populations in this research are 11 firsh farmers. From that populations sample taken with Stratified Random Sampling. Stratified Random Sampling is a method to choose sample by dividing populations into three categories that called level that is small secondary and big scale.Result ofresearch showed average investment of small scale that is Rp. 13.672.063. secondary scale that is Rp. 33.059.550 and for big scale it shown Rp. 116.571.950. Small scale earns Rp. 10.242.000 for average income and benefits about Rp. 1.783.388,-/hervest. Secondary scale aerns Rp. 27.166.000 and benefits about Rp. 6.158.182,-/harvest. Foe the big scale result shown Rp. 100.674.000 for average income and benefits Rp. 22. 947.184,-/harvest. Value of average RCR obtained from the small scale is 1,21, and 1,29 for secondary scale and 1,30 for big scale. Average FRR for small scale is 13,04%. 18,63% for secondary scale and 19,68% for the big one. And the value of average PPC for all scale are 5,67 period (small) 5,37 period (secondary) 5,08 period (big)

A Content Analysis-Based Approach to Explore Simulation Verification and Identify Its Current Challenges

    Get PDF
Verification is a crucial process to facilitate the identification and removal of errors within simulations. This study explores semantic changes to the concept of simulation verification over the past six decades using a data-supported, automated content analysis approach. We collect and utilize a corpus of 4,047 peer-reviewed Modeling and Simulation (M&S) publications dealing with a wide range of studies of simulation verification from 1963 to 2015. We group the selected papers by decade of publication to provide insights and explore the corpus from four perspectives: (i) the positioning of prominent concepts across the corpus as a whole; (ii) a comparison of the prominence of verification, validation, and Verification and Validation (V&V) as separate concepts; (iii) the positioning of the concepts specifically associated with verification; and (iv) an evaluation of verification\u27s defining characteristics within each decade. Our analysis reveals unique characterizations of verification in each decade. The insights gathered helped to identify and discuss three categories of verification challenges as avenues of future research, awareness, and understanding for researchers, students, and practitioners. These categories include conveying confidence and maintaining ease of use; techniques\u27 coverage abilities for handling increasing simulation complexities; and new ways to provide error feedback to model users

On the existence of positive solutions for generalized fractional boundary value problems

    Get PDF
The existence of positive solutions is established for boundary value problems defined within generalized Riemann–Liouville and Caputo fractional operators. Our approach is based on utilizing the technique of fixed point theorems. For the sake of converting the proposed problems into integral equations, we construct Green functions and study their properties for three different types of boundary value problems. Examples are presented to demonstrate the validity of theoretical findings.Scopu

Moral Values That Thwart Intergroup Interactions: an Investigation on the Interaction Between Indonesian Moslems and Chinese-Indonesian Christians

As one of the most established theories, the contact hypothesis has been well-researched throughout decades of investigations. However, there have been few attempts to investigate individual factors that may influence interaction processes that may lower prejudice. The present study attempts to find the individual factors that can moderate the contact – prejudice effect, that is, individual moral values. Previous researches have noted that individuals with high moral loyalty, authority, and sanctity may resist interacting with outgroups. Consequently, these individuals may possess higher prejudice. Thus, we hypothesize that individuals with higher levels of those three moral values may experience the contact effect more profoundly, in which there is stronger contact – prejudice effect. 594 Moslem participants participated in the online survey we administered. We found that moral authority and purity can moderate the contact – prejudice effect, consistent with our hypotheses. These patterns were found only for the contact – subtle prejudice effect. However, moral loyalty cannot moderate this effect. We discuss the implications by examining the Indonesian current sociopolitical conditions and how the three moral values influence the dynamics of intergroup contact
