Procedure for deformation detection using STARNET

    Get PDF
The main steps in the deformation detection via geodetic methods are the least square estimation (LSE) of each epoch, and the deformation detection between epochs. This research focuses on the development of an interface programs called CONVERT, to integrate STARNET V6 (a commercial software) and our in-house software (DEFORM99 and GPSAD 2000), for deformation detection between two epoch (for 2D and 3D applications respectively). In this research, STARNET V6 is used first for LSE of each epoch due to its powerful adjustment capabilities. Next, CONVERT reads the special files created by STARNET, and create the appropriate input files for DEFORM99 and GPSAD 2000. An example is included to show the possibility of using output from STARNET for deformations detection applications

This article will explain asynchronous learn- ing system using attractive discussion forums and video teaching materials features for user so that the devel- opment of both features will increase e-learning system USAge by students and lecturers which can eventually im- prove the students' absorption on the provided teaching materials, increase the active participation of students, improve self-learning ability, and to improve the quality of learning materials. The method used in this study by distributing questionnaires in online form to stakeholders users consisting of lecturers and students with the num- ber of respondents is 225 people and author use model ADDIE which focuses on Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation as development design. Results of this study is an application of web-based asynchronous learning which can be used by students and lecturers with the results of the application evaluation is based on a survey to students and lecturers. From this study, can be concluded that to support online learning with asynchronous method using the video learning feature in online lecture needs to be developed in order to support the science transformation process from lecturers to students. Attractive video teaching materials model for students has characteristics such as screen shots and presentation models

Subprime mortgage is one factor causes world economic in crisis. The impact has stroke the stock exchange world wide, included Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI).The investors who are investing in the instrument of Stocks and Mutual Fund are having consequences of global financial crisis and index prices drops. In Indonesia, Mutual Fund is guaranteed by the BAPEPAM with the Act of Capital Market no.8, 1995 (Undang-Undang Pasar Modal). The main purposes of the research is to analyze JCI and LQ 45 index with Equity Mutual Fund and Balanced Mutual Fund in terms of risk and return, sharpe ratio, correlation and whether the JCI and LQ 45 are linked together over time with Vector Autoregression (VAR). Types of research methodology are using secondary research method and analysis method. In return, Equity Mutual Fund has a higher return than Balanced Mutual Fund because the portfolio diversification consists of money market and equity, but in Balanced Mutual Fund there is also bond as portfolio. In risk, Equity Mutual Fund is more risky than Balanced Mutual Fund as compensation with higher return. Sharpe ratio is used to measure the performance of mutual fund. The higher the Sharpe ratio, the better the fund's historical risk-adjusted performance. In VAR, both Equity Mutual Fund and Balanced Mutual Fund will affect by both JCI and LQ 45 Index

The purpose of this research was to know the difference Quality Of Life (QOL) among chronic pain patient with various method of pain management that is pharmacology, pharmacology and physiotherapy, physiotherapy and multidisciplinary chronic pain management program (Potensi). We used several questionnaire, such as disability, pain intensity, PSEQ, PRSS, WHOQOL-BREF, PDM, DASS administered in 77 patients with chronic pain. The results of this study showed that there are significant differences in QOL between patients with chronic pain in the four methods of pain management. The results of the study revealed that the QOL in the pain group with Potensi method is better than the other three methods. In addition, there were significant differences in the QOL of chronic pain-related pain patients in general and the dimensions of pain relief. It can be concluded that the method of pain management is effective in dealing with patients with chronic pain that is by Potential method

Probabilistic Methods of Quantitative Risk Analysis: A Case Study with Bayesian Networks and Petri Nets Approach

    Get PDF
PresentationConventional risk assessment methods such as Bow Ties have been incapable of capturing the dynamic nature of a system and hence have failed to properly predict the time dependent failure of barriers. Modifications made to incorporate time dependencies in such methods have not found wide application yet. Rapidly changing physical parameters necessitate techniques capable of considering the dynamic aspects of a system throughout its lifetime. The present work is aimed at demonstrating the applicability of Bayesian Networks and Petri Nets to capture the time dependencies of systems to carry out a quantitative risk analysis. A case study is to be carried out using both Bayesian Network and Petri Nets to provide an insight into the pros and cons of using each method to model the system. This insight is to provide a starting point for the development of a model that will enable us to conduct a quantitative risk analysis considering all factors that can lead to an incident

Morphologies of Nanostuctured ZnO prepared by matrix-assisted method and its effects on photocatalytic activity

    Get PDF
Zinc oxide nanoparticles have been successfully synthesized by matrix-assisted method using activated carbon as a matrix and zinc nitrate and zinc acetate as ZnO precursors. Different weight percentages (10-40 wt %) of Zn precursor were loaded onto activated carbon and calcined in air at 500 and 600 ºC, producing highly crystallined ZnO particles with a wurtzite structure. Nanospherical ZnO and a mixture of nanosphere and nanorod ZnO were produced from zinc nitrate and zinc acetate, respectively. The efficiency study of the synthesized ZnO in the photodegradation of rhodamine 6G indicated that ZnO produced from zinc acetate is more effective than that from zinc nitrate, possibly due to the differences in the morphology of the synthesized ZnO

Altitudinal accumulation and diversity of leaf beetle (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) at Fraser’s Hill, Pahang

Most of the research on leaf beetles more focusing on their roles as a pest or biological control. On the ecological part is much understudied. So the objective of this study is to determine the accumulation and diversity of leaf beetles at different altitude on Fraser’s Hill, Pahang. Sampling was done in Dec 2016 – Feb 2017 at lower (900 m a.s.l) altitudes by using sweep net from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. A total of 296 individuals, 28 species and five subfamilies successfully collected. Galerucinae has the highest number of species and individuals with 14 and 154 respectively. Lower altitude has the highest individuals with 116 but has the lowest number of species with only 11. Meanwhile, sampling on Jan 2017 has the highest abundance of 108 individuals and 17 species. However, t-test indicates that there is no significant different between all Shannon index either by altitude-wise (H’ Higher = 1.80; Middle = 2.07; Lower = 1.95) or month-wise (H’ Dec ’16 = 2.36; Jan ’17 = 2.46; Feb ’17 = 2.32). Nevertheless, there is evidence showing that existence of species specificity towards altitude especially on the higher altitude which only one species that shared with middle altitude (Galerucinae sp. 1), while middle and lower shared more overlapped species. More intensive study must be done to view the distribution pattern more clear and detailed
