    Get PDF
Laboratory and field trials were carried out at Koom Hamada district and Etay El-baroud research station during 2004/ 2005 season to clarify the molluscicidal ac-tivities of the following: indoxacarb, lufenuron, Bacillus thurringiensis, kurestaci (Bt.) and methomyl against glassy clover snails Monacha cartusiana (Müler). Re-sults indicated that all tested pesticides decreased snails population compared with control. Under the field conditions, the efficiency of the tested compounds were 98.0, 93.4, 93 and 71.58% for methomyl, lufenuron, indoxacarb and Bt. after 5, 6, 13, and 28 days of treatment, respectively. Moreover the effect of LC50 and 0.5 LC50 of these compounds were investigated on some biochemical parameters in vivo. The activities of acetylcholinestrase (AChE), alanine aminotransferases (ALT) , as-partate aminotransferases (AST) and protein contents at different time intervals were evaluated. The specific activity of AChE reached 0.009, 0.002, 0.006 and 0.001 mole/ mg protein/ min for indoxacarb, lufenuron, Bt. and methomyl, respectively, after one day of treatment with (LC50 for each compound). In general, Bt. and in-doxacarb caused slight inhibition on AChE enzyme. All treatments decreased ALT and AST enzyme activity in the tested animals. However, Bt. Showed slight effect on the activity of aminotransferases enzymes

This paper presents the design of 5.8 GHz front end Low Noise Amplifier application for IEEE standard 802.11 systems for WLAN application. Revolution and demand of WLAN technology have urged development of low cost, low power and small size transceiver by using microstrip technology [1]. This paper is present design and simulation of single stage LNA circuits. This paper is focusing on development of Low Noise Amplifier operating at 5.75-5.85GHz (5GHz upper U-NII band) for WLAN application. The amplifier design used FHX76LP Low noise SuperHEMT from Eudyna Device USA Inc. The design circuit uses lumped elements to implement the matching networks. The purpose single stage of input and output matching network is to produces 50Ω impedance at the input and output port of the LNA. The matching network is used at both sides of the transistor [2],[3]. The target simulation are gain (S21)with >10dB, noise figure with <10dB and input and output return loss <-10dB at 5.8 GHz. A single stage LNA has successfully designed with 15.924 dB forward gain , 0.552 dB noise figure, -11.182 dB output return loss(S22) and -13.246 dB input return loss(S11) by using ADS software

Effect of Substrate Orientation on the Growth of Germanium Oxide in Dry Oxygen Ambience

    Get PDF
The present investigation deals with the effect of substrate orientation effect on the growth of thermally oxidized Ge. The thermal oxidation was performed at temperature between 375 and 550°C in dry oxygen ambient under atmospheric pressure. The thickness of thermally oxidized Ge films was measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry and the chemical bonding structures were characterized by using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). No orientation dependence was observed for the oxidation at temperature of 375°C while for oxidation at 490 and 550°C, Ge oxidation and GeO desorption rate of (100) orientation yield higher rate than (111). The larger atomic space of (100) orientation explains the higher oxidation and desorption rate at Ge surface

Search for gravitational waves from Scorpius X-1 in the second Advanced LIGO observing run with an improved hidden Markov model

    Get PDF
We present results from a semicoherent search for continuous gravitational waves from the low-mass x-ray binary Scorpius X-1, using a hidden Markov model (HMM) to track spin wandering. This search improves on previous HMM-based searches of LIGO data by using an improved frequency domain matched filter, the J-statistic, and by analyzing data from Advanced LIGO's second observing run. In the frequency range searched, from 60 to 650 Hz, we find no evidence of gravitational radiation. At 194.6 Hz, the most sensitive search frequency, we report an upper limit on gravitational wave strain (at 95% confidence) of h095%=3.47×10-25 when marginalizing over source inclination angle. This is the most sensitive search for Scorpius X-1, to date, that is specifically designed to be robust in the presence of spin wandering. © 2019 American Physical Society

Search for Tensor, Vector, and Scalar Polarizations in the Stochastic Gravitational-Wave Background

    Get PDF
The detection of gravitational waves with Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo has enabled novel tests of general relativity, including direct study of the polarization of gravitational waves. While general relativity allows for only two tensor gravitational-wave polarizations, general metric theories can additionally predict two vector and two scalar polarizations. The polarization of gravitational waves is encoded in the spectral shape of the stochastic gravitational-wave background, formed by the superposition of cosmological and individually unresolved astrophysical sources. Using data recorded by Advanced LIGO during its first observing run, we search for a stochastic background of generically polarized gravitational waves. We find no evidence for a background of any polarization, and place the first direct bounds on the contributions of vector and scalar polarizations to the stochastic background. Under log-uniform priors for the energy in each polarization, we limit the energy densities of tensor, vector, and scalar modes at 95% credibility to Ω0T<5.58×10-8, Ω0V<6.35×10-8, and Ω0S<1.08×10-7 at a reference frequency f0=25 Hz. © 2018 American Physical Society
