    Anterior glenohumeral instability: Classification of pathologies of anteroinferior labroligamentous structures using MR arthrography

    We examined labroligamentous structures in unstable anteroinferior glenohumeral joints using MR arthrography (MRA) to demonstrate that not all instabilities are Bankart lesions. We aimed to show that other surgical protocols besides classic Bankart repair are appropriate for labroligamentous lesions. The study included 35 patients (33 males and 2 females; mean age: 30.2; range: 18 to 57 years). MRA was performed in all patients. The lesions underlying patients’ instability such as Bankart, anterior labral periosteal sleeve avulsion (ALPSA), and Perthes lesions were diagnosed by two radiologists. MRA yielded 16 diagnoses of Bankart lesions, 5 of ALPSA lesions, and 14 of Perthes lesions. Albeit invasive, MRA seems to be a more reliable and accurate diagnostic imaging modality for the classification and treatment of instabilities compared to standard MRI

    There are many definitions of narcissism. In terms of common points of definitions, it is possible to define narcissism as appreciation at the higher level that people feel towards themselves. The purpose of the study was to reveal the positive and negative effects of the concept of narcissism in sports organizations. In this research, methodological qualitative method called "descriptive", "field scanning", documentary or "documentary work" has been used. The concept of narcissism has been examined in the historical process and evaluated in the context of sports. There are many successful sports people in sports organizations who work in any position and show narcissism behaviors. In the literature, it has been determined that the occurrence of narcissism is generally investigated with negative effects, but positive effects of the occurrence of narcissism in sports organizations are more likely to be benefited from these positive effects than other organizations. As a result, it has been stated that the existence of controllable narcissism in the sports environment has an effect on giving some opportunities, especially taking advantage of the positive effects that can bring about narcissism in the sports environment where self-confidence can be regarded as an important skill.Extended English abstract is in the end of PDF (TURKISH) file.  ÖzetNarsisizm kavramı ile ilgili birçok tanım yapılmıştır. Tanımların ortak noktaları doğrultusunda narsisizmi kişilerin kendilerine karşı hissettikleri yüksek seviyede beğeni olarak tanımlamak mümkündür. Yapılan çalışmanın amacını narsisizm kavramının spor örgütleri içerisindeki değerlendirmek, aynı zamanda olumlu ve olumsuz etkilerini ortaya koymak oluşturmuştur. Spor örgütleri içerisinde herhangi bir pozisyonda görev yapan ve narsisizm olgusu ile ilişkilendirilebilecek davranışları sergilemekten kaçınmayan birçok başarılı spor insanı bulunmaktadır. Literatürde narsisizm olgusu genel olarak olumsuz etkileri ile incelenmiş olsa da diğer örgütlere kıyasla spor örgütleri içerisinde narsisizm olgusunun olumlu etkilerinin daha fazla olabileceği ve bu olumlu etkilerden yararlanmanın mümkün olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak spor ortamı içerisinde kontrol edilebilir bir narsisizm olgusunun bazı fırsatları doğurma noktasında etkisi olduğu, özellikle risk almanın ve özgüvenin önemli bir beceri olarak değerlendirilebileceği spor ortamında narsisizmin ortaya çıkarabileceği olumlu etkilerden yararlanmanın insan kaynaklarından maksimum verimi alma noktasında etkili olacağı belirtilmiştir

    Investigation of job satisfaction and organizational commitment level of football coachesFutbol antrenörlerinin iş doyumlarinin ve örgütsel bağliliklarinin incelenmesi

    The purpose of this study is to determine the organizational commitment and job satisfaction of youth team football coaches.The sample of the study is consisted of 212 youth team coaches who work in Central Anatolian region. Coaches were selected by purpose sampling method. During the study, basic personal information form was utilized. In addition to this, the job satisfaction survey which was developed by Spector (1985) and the organizational commitment survey which was developed by Porter et al. (1974) was used. The Cronbach Alpha value of job satisfaction survey was calculated .80 and Cronbach Alpha value of organizational commitment survey was calculated .72 after data’s were analyzed. The data’s, normal distribution for the data were analyzed with non-parametric tests. Standard deviation, minimum and maximum values, percentage, of the data which obtained from the survey was analyzed by using, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests in SPSS 21.0 statistic program. Also the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment of coaches were tried to determine by using Spearman Test.Job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels of the coaches who participated in this study was found average. The lowest levels of job satisfaction factor structures were found Pay and Promotion. In spite of this the highest levels of job satisfaction factor structures were found Nature of Work and Coworkers. Besides, it was found out that there was a positive relationship between the job satisfaction levels and organizational commitment degrees of the coaches. When coaches are compared by their education status, it was seen that, higher educated coaches’ job satisfaction levels were detected lower. Moreover, when coaches are compared by their football club types, it was found that, professional club coaches, job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels were reached higher than amateur club coaches. Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file.  ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacını, futbol altyapı antrenörlerinin iş doyum düzeylerinin ve örgütsel bağlılıklarının incelenmesi, oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma örneklemini, İç Anadolu Bölgesi’nde bulunan futbol kulüplerinin altyapılarında görev yapan, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilmiş 212 antrenör oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak kişisel bilgi formu ile 1985 yılında Spector tarafından geliştirilmiş, Yelboğa (2009) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan 9 alt boyuttan oluşan İş Doyum Ölçeği ve Porter ve ark.  (1974) tarafından geliştirilen, Türkçeye uyarlaması ise 2009 yılında Buluç (2009) tarafından yapılan örgütsel bağlılık ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Kullanılan iş doyum ölçeğinin Cronbach Alpha değeri .80 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Örgütsel bağlılık ölçeğinin Cronbach Alpha değeri ise .72 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmada verilerin normal dağılım gösterip göstermediği Kolmogrov-Simirnov testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Her iki ölçeğin verilerinin de normal dağılım göstermediği tespit edilmiş ve parametrik olmayan testler kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin ortalama, standart sapma, minimum, maksimum değerler ile yüzdelik sayılar, Kruskal-Wallis ve Mann-Whitney U testi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca altyapı antrenörlerinin iş doyum düzeylerin ve örgütsel bağlılık seviyeleri arasında herhangi bir ilişki olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla Spearman Sıra Farkları Korelasyon Katsayısı testi uygulanmıştır.Araştırmaya katılan altyapı antrenörlerinin iş doyum düzeyleri ve örgütsel bağlılık seviyeleri orta düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Antrenörlerin iş doyum düzeylerinde en düşük değerde tespit edilen alt boyutlar Ödeme ve Prim iken en yüksek değerde tespit edilen alt boyutları ise İşin Doğası ve İş Arkadaşlarıdır. Ayrıca antrenörlerin iş doyum düzeyleri ve örgütsel bağlılık seviyeleri arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Antrenörler, eğitim durumu değişkeni açısından değerlendirildiğinde, eğitim seviyesi daha yüksek olan antrenörlerin, iş doyum düzeyleri ve örgütsel bağlılık seviyelerinin daha düşük olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Antrenörler, görev yaptıkları kulüp yapısı değişkeni açısından değerlendirildiğinde ise profesyonel gurubun iş doyum düzeyleri ve örgütsel bağlılık seviyelerinin amatör gruba göre daha yüksek çıktığı tespit edilmiştir

The sensor has fabricated as freestanding fabric exhibiting 10 to 100 KOhm base resistivity upon bias applied. The moving object has been sensed through the electrostatic interactions between fibers and object. The sensing range has been found to be 1-5 cm above the surface of fabric. By the controlled combination of conductive polymers electrospun polymer nanofibers effective device miniaturization has been provided without loss of performance. The noncontact motion sensor platform has unique flexibility and light weight holding a potential for wearable sensor technology

    Culture’s impact on entrepreneurship and interaction effect of economic development level: an 81 country study

    This research has two aims. The first one is to determine how and to what extent the national cultural characteristic of a country plays a role in her entrepreneurship success. The second one is to determine whether culture and economic development levels interact with each other on influencing entrepreneurship success. A consecutive five-year longitudinal study, covering 81 countries is conducted. Longitudinal Random Effect Regression Analysis is used to determine the effects of culture on entrepreneurship rates. Data regarding the cultural dimensions indexes of the countries is obtained from Geert Hofstede website and the entrepreneurship rates from the annual reports of the Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute. The interaction effect of cultural dimensions and economic development levels on entrepreneurship is analyzed by treating the economic development level is the interacting variable between cultural dimensions and entrepreneurship rates. Economic development levels of the countries are measured by GDP per capita, figures obtained from the World Bank. The findings are that the cultural dimensions Individualism, Long Term Orientation, and Indulgence vs. Restraint influence the entrepreneurship rate in a supportive manner, whereas Masculinity’s impact is in a rendering manner. Other dimensions seem to have no significant effect. Although relevant cultural dimensions do interact with economic development levels, their interaction effects are small. This study has several unique contributions to the entrepreneurship literature, such as its longitudinal nature, using all Hofstede Dimensions, applying a very comprehensive entrepreneurship measurement scale, its huge sample size and containing an interactive analysis of culture and economic development level which is very rare in the literature

    EVALUATING AGGRESSION LEVELS OF SPORT SPECTATORS

    The aim of this study was to examine the aggressiveness levels of the individuals who are in different sports branches and who define themselves as spectators of those sports according to different parameters. Research group of the study is composed of 696 people who live in Ankara and define themselves as spectators of a sports branch. The aggression scale developed by Buss and Perry (1992) was used in the research. The scale is a 5-point Likert-type scale consisting of 29 items. The normal distribution of the data was examined by Skewness (.417) and Kurtosis (.576) tests and normal distribution of the data was determined. In this context, in the analysis of the data, the independent t-test and One Way Anova test were used as parametric tests. Also, the reliability of the data was determined by Cronbach Alpha internal consistency .822. As a result, a rate of aggression of sports spectators has been found in the middle and higher levels. The highest level of aggression sports spectators were found in combat sports and football branches. In addition, the aggressiveness levels of male spectators are higher than those of female spectators. Also, the highest level Sub-Dimension of sports spectators were found in physical aggression Sub-Dimension.  Article visualizations

    Serum Paraoxonase, Arylesterase, and GlutathioneS-Transferase Activities and Oxidative Stress Levels in Patients with Mushroom Poisoning

    OBJECTIVES: Consumption of toxic species of mushrooms may have detrimental effects and increase oxidative stress. Paraoxonase, arylesterase and glutathione-S-transferase are antioxidants that resist oxidative stress. In this study, we analyzed the changes in these enzymes during intoxication due to mushrooms. METHODS: The study enrolled 49 adult patients with a diagnosis of mushroom poisoning according to clinical findings and 49 healthy volunteers as the control group. The patients with mild clinical findings were hospitalized due to the possibility that the patient had also eaten the mushrooms and due to clinical findings in the late period, which could be fatal. Paraoxonase, arylesterase, and glutathione-S-transferase concentrations, as well as total antioxidant and oxidant status, were determined in the 49 patients and 49 healthy volunteers by taking blood samples in the emergency department. RESULTS: While paraoxonase, arylesterase, and total antioxidant status were significantly decreased in the patient group (po0.05), glutathione-S-transferase, total oxidant status and the oxidative stress index were significantly higher (po0.05). There was a positive correlation between the hospitalization time and the oxidative stress index (r=0.752, po0.001), whereas a negative correlation was found with glutathione-S-transferase (r=-0.420, p=0.003). CONCLUSION: We observed a significant decrease in paraoxonase and arylesterase and an increase in glutathione-S-transferase and oxidative stress indexes in patients with mushroom poisoning, indicating that these patients had an oxidative status. In particular, a low total antioxidant status and high oxidative stress index may gain importance in terms of the assessment of hospitalization duration

    Evaluation of Physical Exercise'S Effects on Low Back Pain Among University Students With Short Form-36 and Oswestry Disability Index

    DergiPark: 762681tmsjAims: This study aims to investigate the main effects of physical exercise on lower back pain with the Short Form-36 Health Survey and Oswestry Disability Index scores. Methods: University students between 18-25 years old who suffer from low back pain were enrolled in the study. Short Form-36 Health Survey and Oswestry Disability Index were used as the reference scales of lower back pain and quality of life, respectively. There are some questions in the questionnaire to scale the average comfort of the place they sleep and sit during the day, which is the result of the Personal Comfort Score. The Mann-Whitney U test was used for non-normal distributed variables. Correlation and Linear Regression were used to analyze data. SPSS 25.0 was used for all statistical analysis. Results: A total of 139 university students (94 females, 45 males) were included in the study. The median age was 20 years (IQR=2) for female students and 20 years (IQR=1) for male students. Oswestry Disability Index scores of fe- male students were higher, while Short Form-36 scores were lower than the male students. Male students' physical functioning scores were higher than female students. Each one-unit increase in Personal Comfort Score is associated with an increase in the rate between the energy/fatigue (3.34 units). Body Mass Index considerably affected the pain and Oswestry Disability Score, an increase in one unit of baseline BMI upsurged the Short Form-36 pain score to 0.13, and Oswestry disability score to 0.55. Conc- lusion: In our study, Body Mass Index is found to be associated with Oswestry Disability Index and Short Form-36 score, which are used for the severity of low back pain and defining the life quality and of patients. PCS had a positive correlation between energy/fatigue. In addition, There was a positive correlation between physical exercise and general health score

    Memristör 1971 yılında kuramsal olarak ortaya konmuş ve bundan yaklaşık 40 yıl sonra, 2008 yılında memristör davranışına sahip bir memristif sistem bulunmuştur. Memristör günümüzde yaygın biçimde dördüncü temel devre elemanı olarak kabul edilmektedir. Memristörün analog devreler alanında uygulamaları, üzerine artarak ilgi duyulan önemli bir çalışma alanıdır. Memristör temelli analog süzgeçler ayarlanabilir memristans özelliği sayesinde kazanç, değer katsayısı vb. süzgeç özelliklerinde klasik devre elemanları ile sağlanamayan otomatik ayarlanabilme özelliği getirmektedir. Bu çalışmada literatürde ilk kez alçak-geçiren ve yüksek-geçiren olmak üzere iki farklı tip memristör temelli Sallen-Key süzgeç analizi ve bunlara ilişkin benzetim sonuçları sunulmaktadır. Süzgeçler memristörün TiO2 doğrusal sürüklenme modeli temel alınarak tasarlanmış ve analiz edilmiştir. Çok düşük frekanslarda doyum durumunun oluştuğu gözlenmiş, daha yüksek frekanslarda ise her iki süzgeçte de başarım için bir sınırlama ortaya çıkmadığı belirlenmiştir. Memristör temelli Sallen-Key süzgeçlerin tasarımında kullanılmak üzere doyma ve buna karşılık bozulmanın ortaya çıkmamasına yönelik tasarım kriterleri verilmiştir. Memristor is accepted by many as the new and the fourth fundamental circuit element. Analog applications of memristor have emerged as a new research area in recent years. An analog filter with memristor can have automatically adjustable gain, quality factor and bandwidth characteristics etc. thanks to its variable memristance. In this paper, two different types of secondorder Sallen-Key filters, which are the low-pass and the high-pass Sallen Key filters, are analyzed using simulations. The linear drift model of TiO2 memristor is used in all analysis and simulations. It has been found that the memristor in the filters can go into saturation at very low frequencies and both of the filters operate well at higher frequencies. A criterion is suggested to prevent memristor from going into saturation and to prevent distortion at low frequencies. Using the criteria and choosing a memristor with more appropriate parameters, the simulations are repeated for the low-pass filter and it is shown that the low-pass filter operates better with the new parameters chosen. The analysis and the criteria given in this paper can be used to design memristor-based Sallen-Key filters and adaptable to other memristor-based filters as well
