Buy, sell and chatter: A case analysis of a Lisbon flea market
This thesis aims explore the sociocultural as well as economic significance of the modern-day flea market, as a form of alternative marketplace system. More specifically, the main goal of the research is to determine the motivation for participation in flea markets of different participants, from vendors to consumers, using an interactionist perspective. By studying these groups in details, I seek to explore the embeddedness of social aspects in economic activity and vice versa. The basic assumption is to put aside the previous notions of the flea market as a second-order system with implied inferiority, and to explore the potential of the flea market to both challenge and complement more formal marketplace systems, by comparing and contrasting the flea market with market venues that belong to the formal sector. Feira da Ladra in Lisbon, Portugal, the oldest a hugely successful flea market in Europe, was chosen to be the research site, where its economic participants were studied in details in various exchanges, using naturalistic observations, semi-structured interviews and a sociocultural perspective.NSBE - UN
MANAGING CHANGE TO UPGRADE ENGLISH TEACHING IN VIETNAM
Managing change in English Language Teaching (ELT) has been implemented to meet the changing requirements and expectations of language learners in a globalized society. This paper investigates the application of change management models in the field of ELT, with particular emphasis on Vietnam. The research employed a document analysis approach by reviewing and analyzing relevant academic papers on change management and managing change in ELT. The study identified five change management models, including Lewin's Change Management Model, ADKAR Model, Kotter's 8 Step Change Model, McKinsey 7S Model, and Kübler-Ross Five Stage Model. Many of these models have been employed in the ELT sector. The best practice of applying change management models in EFL is recommended to Vietnam in order to improve English teaching in its institutions and centers. The paper is expected to provide an in-depth analysis of various change management models and their potential application in the Vietnamese context. Article visualizations
Linear topological invariants of spaces of holomorphic functions in infinite dimension
It is shown that if is a Frechet space with the strong dual then , the space of holomorphic functions on which are bounded on every bounded set in , has the property when and that when and either has an absolute basis or is a Hilbert-Frechet-Montel space. Moreover the complementness of ideals consisting of holomorphic functions on which are equal to on in for every nuclear Frechet space with is stablished when is finitely generated by continuous polynomials on
Empirical Investigation of Omni-channel Customer Behavior: Multiple Mediation Effects of Website and Mobile Interactivity
While existing retail research has focused on retail channels in isolation from a single or multi-channel retailing perspective, there is a need to investigate shopping behavioral intention from an omni-channel and customer-centric retailing perspective. The main of this study is to analyze the customer omni-channel behavior under multiple mediating effects of website and mobile interactivity. Data collected from valid 287 respondents via both online and paper form. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and Smart-PLS software have been used to test proposed hypotheses. The result underlined the significant positive effects of technology literacy, attitude towards website interactivity and attitude towards mobile device interactivity on customer’s behavioral intention. Moreover, website interactivity and augmented reality have highest impact attitude towards website interactivity and attitude towards mobile device interactivity respectively
The Impact of Education on Child Abuse Prevention
This research investigates the impact of education on child abuse prevention in Vietnam by using Vietnamese government's reports (2012 – 2019) on child abuse. In order to analyze the impact of education on child abuse prevention, this study focuses on reviewing the previous policies in preventing child abuse, surveying three main determinants of parents, teachers and children and testing the data collected from the survey. The result shows that education plays an important role in improving the ability to take actions against child abuse. Some recommendations to parents, teachers, children and the government are also proposed for encouraging improvements in child abuse prevention education. IMPACT OF THE EVFTA AGREEMENT: A STUDY ON VIETNAM'S EXPORTED GOODS
Abstract
The research aims to assess the quantitative impact of the Vietnam-European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) on Vietnam's export growth to the EU market. The study employs quantitative analysis using the SMART model with data on export turnover and scenarios of tariff reduction to 0% when EVFTA takes effect. Based on the export turnover data and necessary parameters, the analysis results show an increase in Vietnam's exports to the EU market when EVFTA becomes effective. As a result, the research proposes some implications to promote Vietnam's export activities to the EU in the future
LBMT team at VLSP2022-Abmusu: Hybrid method with text correlation and generative models for Vietnamese multi-document summarization
Multi-document summarization is challenging because the summaries should not
only describe the most important information from all documents but also
provide a coherent interpretation of the documents. This paper proposes a
method for multi-document summarization based on cluster similarity. In the
extractive method we use hybrid model based on a modified version of the
PageRank algorithm and a text correlation considerations mechanism. After
generating summaries by selecting the most important sentences from each
cluster, we apply BARTpho and ViT5 to construct the abstractive models. Both
extractive and abstractive approaches were considered in this study. The
proposed method achieves competitive results in VLSP 2022 competition.Comment: In Proceedings of the 9th International Workshop on Vietnamese
