    The Study of the Effect of Impeller Shape and Location on the Mixing Behaviour Using CFD Modeling

    This project presents on predicting the flow and mixing behaviour inside the mixing tank and to investigate the effect of impeller design or shape and location on the mixing characteristic. Impeller location is defined as the distance between the base of the tank and the surface below the impeller’s blade. It is generally believed that mixing in stirred tank is dominated by the turbulent diffusion or dispersion compared to the convective mixing. Replace a new impeller inside the tank without properly tested, designed and modelling will cost much. If bad mixing occurs, it may lead to increase cost due to further modification and the production also will decrease. Prototype also incurred cost to build and operate it and require looking like the same as the real one. Therefore, in this project, FLUENT 12.0.6 will be used to simulate the flow inside the mixing tank. The impeller shape and location will be investigated to know how they will affect the flow and the mixing behaviour inside the mixing tank. The existing mesh created by GAMBIT® for the tutorial will be re-used and modified its impeller design and to simulate the flow by using FLUENT®. The objective of this project is to predict the result which design for the impeller is the best for better and efficient mixing in the tank. It is clearly shown that the lower impeller location inside the tank gives better mixing condition than others. The time to reach settling time for this impeller’s location also is optimum and acceptable. Recreate the impeller shape cause the weight of impeller to increase thus reducing the impeller’s rotational speed. This will lessen the efficiency of the mixing tank

    Pasar layanan jaringan transportasi cukup luas dan terus mengalami pertumbuhan setiap tahun. Akan tetapi pemain kunci di dalam bisnis ini masih didominasi oleh pemain lama seperti Go-Jek, Grab, dan Uber. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan model-model bisnis yang diterapkan oleh platform perusahaan jaringan transportasi. Dalam melakukan perbandingan, penelitian ini menggunakan framework Platform Design Toolkit v.2 (PDT). Di dalam PDT terdapat sembilan komponen model bisnis yang akan dianalisis: Platform owner, Platform stakeholders, Peers, Partners, Transactions, Channel and Context, Services, Value propositions, Infrastructure and Core Components. Data didapatkan melalui web review, app review, dan literature review. Penelitian ini mengambil studi kasus perusahaan jaringan transportasi di Indonesia. Penelitian memilih Indonesia, karena Indonesia adalah negara dengan nilai ekonomi terbesar di ASEAN. Ada 4 perusahaan yang kami analisis antara lain: Go-Jek, Grab, Uber, Ojek Syar’i. Hasil dari tugas akhir ini adalah pemetaan perbandingan model bisnis antara perusahaan jaringan transportasi di Indonesia. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan fakta-fakta mengenai model bisnis perusahaan jaringan transportai di Indonesia. Fakta tersebut antara lain mengenai peran penting investor asing terhadap perkembangan perusahaan jaringan transportasi, nilai unggul armada sebuah perusahaan jaringan transportasi, mitra-mitra dari perusahaan jaringan transportasi, channel yang diberikan perusahaan untuk berkomunikasi dengan pengguna, dan nilai unggul layanan dari perusahaan jaringan transportasi satu diantara lainnya. Hasil dari perbandingan ini dapat digunakan calon consumers dan calon producers dapat memilih platform jaringan transportasi yang mana yang cocok untuk mereka berdasarkan pemetaan tersebut =============================================================================================== The fast growing of crowd-driven transportation network companies have provided customers with unprecedented alternatives than ever. This leads to a question whether a transportation network company (TNC) will survive in this tight emerging businesses. This research aims at understanding what business model components that contribute to the sustainability of a TNC. In doing so, we use Platform Design Toolkit (PDT) in which suitable in mapping corporate business model. To this point, we analyze ten transportation network companies in Indonesia and benchmark each other. We select Indonesia because Indonesia is one of the emerging digital economies worldwide and is the largest economy in ASEAN in 2017. The expected result of this research is a knowledge regarding what components that make a TNC is better than other TNCs. This understanding may help business entities to decide which TNCs that are reliable for future vendor-customer-type collaboration

    Comparative Study of Spray of Different Liquids

    Sprays can be defined as a dispersion of droplets with sufficient momentum to penetrate the surrounding medium. Generally a spray is produced by using a nozzle which is normally referred to as an atomizer and the surrounding medium is gaseous. Processes utilizing droplets require enough momentum to transport the droplets to where they are utilized or to provide mixing with the gas. Shape, pattern and some measure of droplet sizes are the primary spray characteristics. The study of sprays of liquid fuels can be hazardous and costly. However, by replacing the liquid fuel with non flammable liquids such as water can reduce these problems. The objective of the project is to find whether water has any similar characteristics with the selected liquid fuel or not. The studies focus on two major components. Firstly, the study focuses on microscopic characteristics such as droplet size and mean velocity. Spray characteristics of different liquids (methanol, diesel and water) are analyzed by Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) and Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA). Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) systems are used to measure droplet velocities of fluid sprays. Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA) systems are used to measure the droplet sizes of fluid sprays. A high speed camera is used in the second part of the research in order to observe the structure of droplets, measure the spray angles at nozzle exit and determine the droplets movement. Spray angle variations are observed under different pressures for each fluid. From analysis of the results, it is found that the water and diesel has similarity in Sauter Mean Diameter. For both horizontal and vertical velocities, water and diesel did not have any similarity in term of spray characteristics

In this modern era, laboratory test is crucial to analyse any illness especially a critical syndrome like Autism Spectrum Disorder. Autism Spectrum Disorder Screening for Toddlers application is developed to screen and give knowledge of the behaviour and personality traits of the children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Since twin pairs has higher percentage of inheritability compared to the normal children in a family, it can increase the chance of inheriting the ASD. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder have a disruption in brain development as they are growing and it can affects one’s communication, interaction, behaviour, preference and interest with other people in their daily life, Usually, the father is not worried about the behaviour and social skill but stressed more on the syndrome’s seriousness affected on his children. Furthermore, teacher-student relationship plays an important role to polish up the quality of a student such as in academic, social behaviour and even emotion Artificial Intelligence rule-based technique is used to develop the project. The project is developed using Waterfall model which consists of 5 phases such as analysis, design, implementation, testing and maintenance. Use case diagram, flowchart, rule-based flowchart and sketch design are showed in the report. Blackbox testing is used for the functionality testing. In the future, database will be implemented to make the application to be real time

    Leadership competencies are leadership skills and behaviours that contribute to superior performance. This study was undertaken to investigate the tendency of vocational students in leadership competencies towards design subject in Vocational College. The study sample consisted of 278 samples from vocational college students. This research used the questionnaire to answer the research question related to leadership competencies. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics which includes mean score and standard deviation. Pergau River, Jeli, which is located at the southwest of the state of Kelantan, is the location to be chosen since the preliminary observation had shown that the river have many resources which are favorably in providing the river-tourism activities resources. River-tourism activities are rarely to be seen in the state of Kelantan. Some of the activities such as adventure water activities, white-water rafting, kayaking, boating, tubing, swimming, fishing and cruising are such an attractive and enjoyable moment which are get a high demand from the tourist around the world especially tourist who is seeking for challenges, adventures, experiences and satisfaction. This research paper consider several elements in river-tourism prospect include the geomorphological study of the Pergau River, Water Profile Study, Social Survey and also study of the suitability for nature-tourism area. All of those elements are important in determining Pergau River and surrounding area as a potential spot for river-tourism activities. The conclusion of the paper shows significant and scientific proves of the suitability and potential of the area, in terms of physical, biological, ecological and social aspect to be considered as one of the river-tourism spot in the state of Kelantan.     Invariance in Transverse Momentum of Photons in Double-slit Experiment

    One of the intriguing mystery in modern physics is the quantum interference phenomena, which the behaviour of photons in double-slit experiment is still ambiguous. Instead of relying on the naive probabilistic point of view, Bohmian mechanics provides the ground base for interpreting quantum system in a deterministic way closely related to classical mechanics such as it constructs the photon trajectory for the double-slit set up. The appearance on the bending in the constructed photon trajectory seem to contravene the notable law of conservation of momentum. Here, we report on conservation of the transverse momentum of photon trajectories based on numerical solution of Bohmian mechanics in double-slit set up for single photon, pair of photons and ensemble of photons until interference pattern is produced. It is shown that the total transverse momentum in the system of Bohmian mechanics is invariance due to the non-local action of quantum potential
