Introduction: A Field experiment was conducted at the experimental farm, Dept. of Field Crop (Al-Jadriya), Coll. of Agric., Univ. of Baghdad to study the effects of brassinolide concentrations and spraying stages on yield and its components of maize (Baghdad 3 cultivar) during spring and autumn seasons in 2017. Materials and Methods: A randomized complete blocks design arranged in actorial experiment was used with three replicates. The first factor included three concentrations (0, 2 and 4 mg L-1) of brassinolide, and the second factor included spraying stages (4, 8, 12, 4 + 8, 4 + 12, and 8 + 12 leaves) using the same concentrations for each stage. Results and discussion: Results showed that the concentration 4 mg L-1 gave the highest grain yield (6.59 and 7.15 t ha-1) for its superiority in 500 grain weight (102.74 and 112.26 g) and number of ears per plant (1.43 and 1.44 ear) for both spring and autumn seasons, respectively. The spraying stage (4 + 8 leaves) recorded highest grain yield (6.33 and 6.77 t ha-1), and 500 grain weight (104.73 and 119.20 g) for both spring and autumn seasons, respectively. The effect of interaction for both factors was significant in most studied traits. Conclusion: Therefore, we recommend spraying Brassinolide in a concentration of 4 mg L-1 at the stage 4 + 8 leaves to increase grain yield of maiz

Composite materials are used in many industries such: solar cells, optoelectronic device elements, light emitting diodes, aircraft, military and car industry. In this paper, effect of potassium chloride on physical and optical properties of polystyrene has been studied to use the new material in many applications. The physical properties showed that the absorption of composite to water increases with increase time of the submerging in the water. Also, diffusion coefficient increases with increase the potassium chloride concentrations. The optical properties was measured in wavelength range from 200nm to 800nm. The experimental results showed that absorbance of polystyrene increases with increase  the potassium chloride concentrations. The optical constants (absorption coefficient, energy band gap, extinction coefficient, refractive index and real and imaginary parts of dielectric constants) are increasing with increase the potassium chloride concentrations. Keywords: optical properties, composites, physical properties, potassium chloride

    Get PDF
The oxidative stress is result of unbalancing between oxidants and antioxidants in the body. Hypertension (HT) is a measure of average systolic blood pressure which created by the heart contracting, greater ?140 mmHg or an average diastolic blood pressure, which is the heart fills, of ?equal to 90 mmHg. The study is conducted on 28 female patients with HT from Ibn Al-nafese hospital in addition to 28 female control. The markers measured are albumin, malondialdehyde (MDA) and 8-Hydroxy deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). Also electrophoresis study on extracted DNA with Fenton reaction was done. Results of this study show there are high significant decrease (p?0.01) in albumin concentration of patient related to control, and there is a high significant increase (p? 0.01) in each MDA and 8-OHdG for patients group in comparison with controls. The Fenton reaction done shows that oxidant has degradation effect on DNA either in two minutes of reaction. It is concluded that oxidative stress in its parameter (albumin) and markers (MDA and 8-OHdG) is main chemical manifestation of group under study. And oxidants produced by Fenton can denature the DNA in vitro

Mathematical Model of FHXWBranching Type with Hyphal Death

A mathematical description of growth and branching in fungi can be derived in terms of continuous variables such as densities of filaments and tips. The general concept of continuum modeling yields the following equations of fungal growth in which a balance is kept for the accumulation of hyphal filaments and their tips.Hyphae are immobile. They are created only through the motion of tips-essentially the trail left behind tips as they moves. The rate of local length accumulation depends on the number of tips and branches present as well as on their rate of motion

The importance of preserving the environment from waste and its pollution lies in many matters such as preserving people health, enhancing the aesthetic character of cites, attracting tourists, and protecting society from environmental disasters. The environmental wastes are the main dilemmas in our daily life and in the world at large. With the existence of modern technology, development and the field of the internet, many solutions have been undertaken to get rid these dilemmas. In this paper, a smart waste system based on internet of things (IoT) technique has been proposed using ESP-32 Wi-Fi microcontroller. This system can be adopted to avoid the accumulation of waste in the streets that distort the face of civilization, also to reduce the burden of workers and limit the workforce. The system is based on a multiple sensors in the garbage baskets, as they measure the waste level by using ultrasonic sensor, the moisture percent and temperature degree using DHT-22 sensor. The sensors data are processed by ESP32 microcontroller and displayed to both LCD screen using I2C protocol and mobile application using IoT cloud. System baskets automatically open their covers when the person approaches with a distance less or equal to 30 cm to throw garbage. Any approval waste basket is automatically discharged through an underground dump system using conveyor belt if the basket is full by 80% garbage and/or the basket moisture reaches to 40%

The rapid and uncontrollable cell division that spreads to surrounding tissues medically termed as malignant neoplasm, cancer is one of the most common diseases worldwide. The need for effective cancer treatment arises due to the increase in the number of cases and the anticipation of higher levels in the coming years. Oncolytic virotherapy is a promising technique that has shown encouraging results in several cases. Mathematical models of virotherapy have been widely developed, and one such model is the interaction between tumor cells and oncolytic virus. In this paper an artificially optimized Immune- Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) is introduced to improve the outcome of oncolytic virotherapy. The control strategy has been evaluated in silico on number of subjects. The crow search algorithm is used to tune immune and LQR parameters. The study is conducted on two subjects, S1 and S3, with LQR and Immune-LQR. The experimental results reveal a decrease in the number of tumor cells and remain in the treatment area from day ten onwards, this indicates the robustness of treatment strategies that can achieve tumor reduction regardless of the uncertainty in the biological parameters

summary:The main purpose of the present paper is to study the geometric properties of the conharmonic curvature tensor of normal locally conformal almost cosymplectic manifolds (normal LCAC-manifold). In particular, three conhoronic invariants are distinguished with regard to the vanishing conharmonic tensor. Subsequentaly, three classes of normal LCAC-manifolds are established. Moreover, it is proved that the manifolds of these classes are η \eta -Einstein manifolds of type (α,β) (\alpha,\beta) . Furthermore, we have determined α \alpha and β \beta for each class

The expansion of networks involved higher jump on the users utilizing the networks resources, which may require extra higher bandwidth. Due to the development of technology especially those folded under the Internet of Things (IoT), the new demand of higher data rate is been witnesses among the users. In order to feed the demand of users with high data rate, broadband networks are required where high data rate can be ensured for each user. Broadband networks can be established using optical network that carries the data through wide broadband. Areas such as rural and forests sides which are witnessing plenty of natural obstacles such as mountains, trees, seas, etc. are forming big challenge for propagating a cable (wire) or optical network. Due to the limitations of the wire network, World Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) technology has been introduced as substitution for the broadband network. Such kind of alternative can be deployed through any geographical area without concerning on the wire paths. WiMAX preserved large coverage area and hence it may not suffer from the signal hand-off as in the case of another wireless network. In this project, Chordal Ring network topology is implemented to enhance the performance of wireless broadband network. With different routing protocols such as Destination Sequenced Distance Vector Protocol (DSDV) and Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV), the network performance was examined for various Chordal Ring degree (e.g. fourth degree and fifth degree). Performance metrics such as number of transmitted packets, number of received packers, delivered packet rate (PDR), total number of drop packers (DP) and average queuing delay (been measured). Finally, the obtained results had been shown that fifth-degree Chordal Ring network is outperforming through DSDV routing protoco
