Hydrodynamic design of generic pump components
Inducer and impellar base geometries were defined for a fuel pump for a generic generator cycle. Blade surface data and inlet flowfield definition are available in sufficient detail to allow computational fluid dynamic analysis of the two components
Apollo experience report: Mission evaluation team postflight documentation
The various postflight reports prepared by the mission evaluation team, including the final mission evaluation report, report supplements, anomaly reports, and the 5-day mission report, are described. The procedures for preparing each report from the inputs of the various disciplines are explained, and the general method of reporting postflight results is discussed. Recommendations for postflight documentation in future space programs are included. The official requirements for postflight documentation and a typical example of an anomaly report are provided as appendixes

LOX/Hydrocarbon Combustion Instability Investigation
The LOX/Hydrocarbon Combustion Instability Investigation Program was structured to determine if the use of light hydrocarbon combustion fuels with liquid oxygen (LOX) produces combustion performance and stability behavior similar to the LOX/hydrogen propellant combination. In particular methane was investigated to determine if that fuel can be rated for combustion instability using the same techniques as previously used for LOX/hydrogen. These techniques included fuel temperature ramping and stability bomb tests. The hot fire program probed the combustion behavior of methane from ambient to subambient temperatures. Very interesting results were obtained from this program that have potential importance to future LOX/methane development programs. A very thorough and carefully reasoned documentation of the experimental data obtained is contained. The hot fire test logic and the associated tests are discussed. Subscale performance and stability rating testing was accomplished using 40,000 lb. thrust class hardware. Stability rating tests used both bombs and fuel temperature ramping techniques. The test program was successful in generating data for the evaluation of the methane stability characteristics relative to hydrogen and to anchor stability models. Data correlations, performance analysis, stability analyses, and key stability margin enhancement parameters are discussed

Relative astrometry of the J=1-0, v=1 and v=2 SiO masers towards R Leonis Minoris using VERA
Oxygen-rich Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars are intense emitters of SiO
and HO maser lines at 43 (J=1-0, v=1 and 2) and 22 GHz, respectively. VLBI
observations of the maser emission provides a unique tool to sample the
innermost layers of the circumstellar envelopes in AGB stars. Nevertheless, the
difficulties in achieving astrometrically aligned v=1 and v=2 SiO maser maps
have traditionally prevented a unique interpretation of the observations in
terms of physical underlying conditions, which depend on the nature of the SiO
pumping mechanism.
We have carried out observations of the SiO and HO maser emission towards
RLMi, using the astrometric capabilities of VERA. Due to the too-weak emission
of the reference calibrator we had to develop a special method to accurately
relate the coordinates for both transitions. We present relative
astrometrically aligned v=1 and v=2 J=1-0 SiO maser maps, at multiple epochs,
and discuss the astrophysical results. The incorporation of astrometric
information into the maps of SiO masers challenges the weak points in the
current theoretical models, which will need further refinements to address the
observations results.Comment: 17 pages, 8 figure
