Bosonic behavior of entangled fermions
Two bound, entangled fermions form a composite boson, which can be treated as
an elementary boson as long as the Pauli principle does not affect the behavior
of many such composite bosons. The departure of ideal bosonic behavior is
quantified by the normalization ratio of multi-composite-boson states. We
derive the two-fermion-states that extremize the normalization ratio for a
fixed single-fermion purity P, and establish general tight bounds for this
indicator. For very small purities, P<1/N^2, the upper and lower bounds
converge, which allows to quantify accurately the departure from perfectly
bosonic behavior, for any state of many composite bosons.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures, accepted by PR
Development of 3D beach evolution model for sand nourishments and its application to morphodynamics around coastal structures
A numerical model to predict three-dimensional (3D) beach evolution after sand nourishment was developed. The injection process of sand to near shoreline or offshore area was expressed by the sediment flux in the conservation equation associated with sediment transports and water depth changes, furthermore, sand dredging process\ud
was considered. In this study, First, computation of beach evolution around a coastal structure with and without nourishment was carried out. Secondly, the developed model was applied to the sand recycling project conducted at a field site, Kaike Coast, Tottori, Japan. Computed result was compared with the field data at Kaike Coast. Finally, the applicability of the developed model was investigated
Public Health Agenciesā Health Informatics Capacity and Its Impact on Activities to Address Health Disparities
This study examines LHDsā activities and strategies that seek to address health disparities and inequities and whether the LHDsā informatics capacities shape the likelihood of performing those activities
Development of microwave diagnostic simulator
Two-dimensional simulator models are presented for microwave diagnostics. The models assume the Maxwell wave equation coupled with the equation of plasma current density in a cold magnetized plasma, which can describe propagation, reflection, and cross polarization scattering of the ordinary and extraordinary modes. The effects of waveguide for the microwave launcher and wall boundary of the vacuum vessel are included in the models. The simulations of ultrashort-pulse reflectometry with the use of incident subcyclic ordinary modes in the models are performed to test the problem of density profile reconstruction
