    Nous rapportons un cas de lymphome extranodal T/Nk primitif du larynx. il s’agit d’un patient ĂągĂ© de 22 ans qui s’était prĂ©sentĂ© pour une dysphonie chronique associĂ©e Ă  une dyspnĂ©e inspiratoire. une chimiothĂ©rapie protocole SMiLE avec radiothĂ©rapie ont Ă©tĂ© instituĂ©s avec obtention d’une rĂ©mission complĂšte. Huit mois plus tard, le patient prĂ©sentait une rĂ©cidive de la tumeur avec un oedĂšme palpĂ©bral et une obstruction du canal lacrymonasal. L’évolution a Ă©tĂ© fatale suite Ă  une aspergillose invasive en cours de chimiothĂ©rapie.Mots clĂ©s : lymphome, larynx.A rare case of primary laryngeal T/Nk- cell lymphoma, nasal type is reported. The patient was 22-year old male who presented with dysphonia, dyspnea. Chemotherapy protocol SMiLE and radiotherapy were instituted with complete remission of the tumor. Eight months afterward, he presented with tumor recurrence, palpebral edema, obstruction of the lacrymonasal duct. He died within few days with invasive aspergillosis while he was receiving chemotherapy SMiLE regimen.Keyswords : lymphoma, larynx

    AbstractThis study reports the influence of the condition parameters on the electrodeposition of zinc oxide using Zn(NO3)2 6H2O. ZnO thin films were electrodeposited on FTO and Mo substrate, using a pulse electrodeposition technique. Thin and adherent films have been obtained after 360 cycles. The pulse electrodeposition process was investigated though voltammetry cyclic. The morphology as well as the optical properties of the films was studied by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and optical transmittance spectroscopy

    Open Institute of the African BioGenome Project: Bridging the gap in African biodiversity genomics and bioinformatics

    Africa, a continent of 1.3 billion people, had 326 researchers per one million people in 2018 (Schneegans, 2021; UNESCO, 2022), despite the global average for the number of researchers per million people being 1368 (Schneegans, 2021; UNESCO, 2022). Nevertheless, a strong research community is a requirement to advance scientific knowledge and innovation and drive economic growth (Agnew, et al., 2020; Sianes, et al., 2022). This low number of researchers extends to scientific research across Africa and finds resonance with genomic projects such as the African BioGenome Project (Ebenezer, et al., 2022). The African BioGenome project (AfricaBP) plans to sequence 100,000 endemic African species in 10 years (Ebenezer, et al., 2022) with an estimated 203,000 gigabases of DNA sequence. AfricaBP aims to generate these genomes on-the-ground in Africa. However, for AfricaBP to achieve its goals of on-the-ground sequencing and data analysis, there is a need to empower African scientists and institutions to obtain the required skill sets, capacity and infrastructure to generate, analyse, and utilise these sequenced genomes in-country. The Open Institute is the genomics and bioinformatics knowledge exchange programme for the AfricaBP (Figures 1 & 2). It consists of 10 participating institutions including the University of South Africa in South Africa and National Institute of Agricultural Research in Morocco. It aims to: develop biodiversity genomics and bioinformatics curricula targeted at African scientists, promote and develop genomics and bioinformatics tools that will address critical needs relevant to the African terrain such as limited internet access, and advance grassroot knowledge exchange through outreach and public engagement such as quarterly training and workshops

    Accessing new physics with an undoped, cryogenic CsI CEvNS detector for COHERENT at the SNS

    We consider the potential for a 10-kg undoped cryogenic CsI detector operating at the Spallation Neutron Source to measure coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering and its sensitivity to discover new physics beyond the standard model. Through a combination of increased event rate, lower threshold, and good timing resolution, such a detector would significantly improve on past measurements. We considered tests of several beyond-the-standard-model scenarios such as neutrino non-standard interactions and accelerator-produced dark matter. This detector's performance was also studied for relevant questions in nuclear physics and neutrino astronomy, namely the weak charge distribution of CsI nuclei and detection of neutrinos from a core-collapse supernova

    Measurement of nat{}^{nat}Pb(Îœe\nu_e,Xnn) production with a stopped-pion neutrino source

    Using neutrinos produced at the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), the COHERENT collaboration has studied the Pb(Îœe\nu_e,Xnn) process with a lead neutrino-induced-neutron (NIN) detector. Data from this detector are fit jointly with previously collected COHERENT data on this process. A combined analysis of the two datasets yields a cross section that is 0.29−0.16+0.170.29^{+0.17}_{-0.16} times that predicted by the MARLEY event generator using experimentally-measured Gamow-Teller strength distributions, consistent with no NIN events at 1.8σ\sigma. This is the first inelastic neutrino-nucleus process COHERENT has studied, among several planned exploiting the high flux of low-energy neutrinos produced at the SNS.Comment: 11 pages, 9 figures, version accepted by Phys.
