Sample holder support for microscopes

A sample filter holder is disclosed for use with a microscope for holding the filter in a planar condition on the stage of the microscope so that automatic focusing of the microscope can be performed on particle samples dispersed on the filter. The holder includes a base having a well that communicates with an inlet port which is connected to a suction pump. A screen assembly is positioned within the well. The screen assembly includes a disk having a screen positioned on its top surface and secured to the disk at the peripheral edge of the screen. Small bores allow the outer surface of the screen to communicate with the well. The filter is placed on the screen and is held in a flat disposition by the suction forces

Internal ballistics model update for ASRM dome

A previous report (no. 5-32279, contract NAS8-36955, DO 51) describes the measures taken to adapt the NASA Complex Burning Region Model and code so that is was applicable to the Advanced Solid Rocket Motor as envisioned at that time. The code so modified was called the CBRM-A. CBRM-A could calculate the port volume and burning area for the star, transition, and cylindrically perforated regions of the motor. Described here is a subsequent effort to add computation of port volume and burning area for the Advanced Solid Rocket Motor head dome. Sample output, input, and overview of the models are included. A History of Intercollegiate Athletics at Milligan College, 1887-1973

Purpose. The problem of this study was to present the history of intercollegiate athletics at Milligan College from 1887-1973. Method. Both primary and secondary sources were used in gaining knowledge of the history of sports. Interviews were conducted with individuals who had been in the position of president or athletic director. All interviews were tape recorded. These interviews were transcribed for use in the study. A questionnaire was used to secure the opinions of professors, students, and former students. Past practices and records were gleaned from residents who had lived in the area of Milligan College for a great length of time. All of the data thus collected and analyzed were considered as nuclei in the proposed study. Summary. Three basic factors have been found to permeate the athletic program at Milligan College: 1. The first organized event on the campus was a baseball game in 1887. This was followed by basketball in 1914. These sports were followed by football which was instituted in 1924 by Asa F. Cochran, a faculty member of Milligan College at the time. 2. The athletic program has grown from its first intercollegiate sport (baseball in 1887) to include an extensive sports program on a varsity or club level at the present time. 3. Fine Christian leadership has been given to the athletes through many outstanding athletic coaches. Conclusions. The findings in this study warranted the following conclusions: 1. Athletics at Milligan College have grown from a meager beginning in 1887 to a very important place in the total college program. 2. The athletic facilities have improved at the college and have helped with the fine athletic program found on the campus today. 3. The athletic program at Milligan College has been supported by the faculty, students, alumni, and community. 4. Milligan College has been recognized throughout the nation for its outstanding athletic program through teams, coaches, and athletes who represented the school. 5. Intercollegiate athletics at Milligan College has been considered one aspect of the total program of physical education since the early 1900\u27s. This operational principle was reflected in the administrative structure of the institution and of athletics. 6. Traditionally, Milligan College has attempted to meet the athletic needs of as many members of the male student body as possible. Not only was this evident in the intramural athletic and recreation program, but it has also been the practice of the institution to offer a wide number of intercollegiate sports. Menambahnya pemilik komputer membuat pengguna kurang atau lebih memiliki pengaruh kepada sejumlah pengguna yang berinteraksi dengan komputer. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh National Center Education Statistics (NCES, 2003). Penggunaan internet oleh pengguna dibedakan dengan bagaimana pengguna menggunakannya, apakah dari pengguna menggunakannya untuk fasilitas chatting, email, tugas, browsing untuk mendapatkan informasi, termasuk bermain game online. Tetapi tidak semua konten yang ada berisikan informasi yang edukatif, dan juga terdapat banyak sekali informasi negative yang tidak sesuai yang dapat diakses oleh anak-anak. Pengawasan terhadap penggunaan teknologi informasi sangatlah dibutuhkan karena perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan mengenai pembuatan virus, worm, atau spyware. Menginstalasi antivirus adalah solusi untuk mencegahnya virus mengkontaminasi jaringan ataupun sistem komputer. Namun dengan demikian antivirus-pun tidak dapat memantau aktifitas pengguna, dengan kata lain, kegiatan penggunaan keyboard. Keylogger dapat mampu merekan semua aktivitas keyboard. Keylogger harus diinstal pada komputer yang ditargetkan untuk merekam aktivitas penggunaan keyboard. Kemudian untuk dapat mengambil file log, Keylogger harus memiliki akses secara fisik ke dalam komputer. Dengan ini sebagai dasar untuk membuat sebuah ide untuk memantau aktivitas keyboard pengguna. Tetapi jika hanya ini, pasti akan menimbulkan masalah jika pengguna mengetahui tentang adanya keylogger. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, menciptakan sebuah program yang dapat memantau aktivitas pengguna saat mengakses komputer atau dalam hal ini apa yang pengguna ketikkan untuk memberikan hak-hak istimewa untuk mengetahui apa yang pengguna telah lakukan selama penggunaan.
