TECHNICAL NOTE PRELIMINARY MAPPING OF THE SITES OF MEMORY OF THE ATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE AND THE HISTORY OF ENSLAVED AFRICANS AND THEIR DESCENDANTS IN BRAZIL TECHNICAL TEAM

The aim of this technical note is to describe the procedures performed and to indicate the use of the viewer of the Preliminary Thematic Map of Sites of Memory of the Atlantic Slave Trade and the History of Enslaved Africans in Brazil. O artigo tem como objetivo apresentar elementos constitutivos da história de São Tomé e Príncipe, segundo menor país do continente africano, que tem como língua oficial o português. Considerations about the use and constitution of a photography corpus on anthropological research <br> Considerações sobre a constituição e a utilização de um corpus fotográfico na pesquisa antropológica

This paper deals with the use of photography as a science and anthropological research instrument. The text is organized in two different parts. The first one presents an inventory about photography possibility of use by social sciences, along with reflections about its use. The second part of the text brings a didactic experience as a laboratory for these reflections, based on the discipline Fotography as research instrument witch gathered master and doctorate students from different São Paulo institutions. The group background diversity contributed to the production of a wide range of approaches about photography uses and functions on local research – also analyzed on this paper. <p><p> Este estudo trata da utilização da fotografia como instrumento de pesquisa na antropologia. O texto está organizado em duas partes. Na primeira, apresenta um inventário das possibilidades de utilização da fotografia pelas ciências sociais, acompanhado de uma reflexão sobre sua implementação prática. Na segunda, relata uma experiência didática tomada como laboratório para a prática deste conjunto de reflexões, consubstanciada na disciplina Fotografia como instrumento de pesquisa, que reuniu mestrandos e doutorandos de diversas instituições do estado de São Paulo. A diversidade do grupo contribuiu para a elaboração de um conjunto variado de abordagens sobre os usos e funções da fotografia na pesquisa social, também analisadas nesse artigo
