Induction Motor Fault Modeling Based on the Winding Function

    Get PDF
The deterioration in electrical equipment, is normal and its process begins as soon as the equipment is installed. Failure to inspect may cause faults. A failure in these devices can represent from thousands of dollars in losses of production to loss of lives, therfore, it is our responsibility as engineers to develop and apply techniques that ensure their optimal operation. There are several maintenance techniques, including condition monitoring which uses vibration and electrical data from motors/generators to diagnose faults. The objective of this work is to develop a computational model of an induction motor based on the winding function technique to model electrical and mechanical faults. This is the first step in order to proceed with a most comprehensive project about condition monitoring of induction machines under fault based on signal processing analysis. Keywords: faults, induction machines, winding functio

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

The objective was to describe the food security programs implemented by the government of the State of Mexico, for the construction of citizenship during the period 2006-2011. In relation to food security programs, the contributions of Urquía, (2014), Torres, Herrera, Vizcarra and Lutz, (2015) among others were used. The term construction of citizenship was based on the premises of Foucault (2000), Bovero (2002), O`Donnell (2010) and Damián (2019). The research was descriptive, with a field design. The conclusions revolve around a weak generation of active citizenship relationships as a result of these programs

A simple and cost-effective method for cable root detection and extension measurement in estuary wetland forests

This work presents the development of a low-cost method to measure the length cable roots of black mangrove (Avicennia germinans) trees to define the boundaries of central part of the anchoring root system (CPRS) without the need to fully expose root systems. The method was tested to locate and measure the length shallow woody root systems. An ultrasonic Doppler fetal monitor (UD) and a stock of steel rods (SR) were used to probe root locations without removing sediments from the surface, measure their length and estimate root-soil plate dimensions. The method was validated by comparing measurements with root lengths taken through direct measurement of excavated cable roots and from root-soil plate radii (exposed root-soil material when a tree tips over) of five up-rooted trees with stem diameters (D130) ranging between 10 and 50 cm. The mean CPRS radius estimated with the use of the Doppler was directly correlated with tree stem diameter and was not significantly different from the root-soil plate mean radius measured from up-rooted trees or from CPRS approximated by digging trenches. Our method proved to be effective and reliable in following cable roots for large amounts of trees of both black and white mangrove trees. In a period of 40 days of work, three people were capable of measuring 648 roots belonging to 81 trees, out of which 37% were found grafted to other tree roots. This simple method can be helpful in following shallow root systems with minimal impact and help map root connection networks of grafted trees

Ener-Habitat: A Cloud Computing Numerical Tool to Evaluate the Thermal Performance of Walls/Roofs.

AbstractEner-Habitat is a cloud computing numerical tool designed to evaluate the thermal performance of building envelope walls/roofs. It solves the time dependent heat transfer equation in one or two dimensions with convective boundary on the inside and periodic outdoor temperature, solar radiation, and convective boundary condition on the outside. All the needed data is introduced through a Graphical User Interface. First, the user defines if the evaluation is for a constructive system (CS) composed by only homogeneous layers or for a CS that contains one no-homogeneous layer. A homogeneous layer is composed by only one material and has no air cavities in it. A no-homogeneous layer is composed by two or more materials or has air cavities in it. The user selects a city of Mexico where the evaluation is performed, the time period (typical day of month or annual evaluation), the type of CS (wall or roof) and the condition in which the CS is evaluated (air-conditioned or non-air conditioned). If the user selected a CS composed by homogeneous layers, Ener-Habitat can compare up to five CS at once and it last a couple of minutes, for CS with a no-homogeneous layer, the numerical analysis takes some hours, and the user can evaluate only one CS at once. Up to now, Ener-Habitat can evaluate three types of no-homogeneous layers. The materials and dimensions of the layers, and the solar absortance of the outdoor surface must be defined. When the CS is evaluated considering an air-conditioned room, with constant indoor temperature at the comfort temperature, the reported parameter is the energy per unit area per selected period needed to keep the room at the comfort temperature and the best CS configuration is the one with the lowest value. When the CS is evaluated considering a non-air-conditioned room, one of the reported parameters is the heat transfer through the CS per unit area per the selected period. In this case, the best CS configuration is the one with the lowest value. Three examples are presented, the first two include homogenous layers and the last one a constructive system with one no homogeneous layer
