Diffusion radius of muonic hydrogen atoms in H-D gas
The diffusion radius of the 1S muonic hydrogen atoms in gaseous H_2 targets
with various deuterium admixtures has been determined for temperatures T=30 and
300 K. The Monte Carlo calculations have been performed using the partial
differential crosssections for and atom scattering from the
molecules H, HD and D. These cross sections include hyperfine
transitions in the muonic atoms, the muon exchange between the nuclei and
, and rotational-vibrational transitions in the target molecules. The Monte
Carlo results have been used for preparing the time-projection chamber for the
high-precision measurement of the nuclear capture in the ground-state
atom, which is now underway at the Paul Scherrer Institute.Comment: 8 pages, 10 figures, 1 tabl
Indonesia’s Mental Health Services: Availability and Current Challenges
The deep deficits in Indonesia’s mental health care system seem to currently lack explanation. While Indonesia’s economic growth may outstrip even that of its neighbors, the country still appears to significantly lack parity in provided mental health resources. Due to the paucity in available information and studies on the topic, this paper seeks to inspect the issue directly through the use of direct interviews supplemented by available literature. Through the interviews of Indonesian self-identified patients, non-patients, and mental health care providers, it appears that the apparent weak state of Indonesia’s mental health care system stems from widely held cultural beliefs. More specifically, the intersection of social expectations, religion, and cultural superstitions impede both the willingness and ability of individuals to seek professional psycho-social support. Ultimately, these interactions appear to render a population that direly desires improved psycho-social support resources unable to articulate demands, leading to a slow development of available resources
Professionalism in residency training: A compilation of desirable behaviors and a case-based comparison between pathologists in training and practice
Professionalism is one of the most important competencies for physicians but is also the most difficult to teach, assess, and manage. To better understand professionalism in pathology, we surveyed practicing pathologists and pathology residents and fellows in training. We identified 12 key desirable attributes of professionalism. In addition, 8 case scenarios highlighting unprofessional behavior were presented, and results between pathologists in practice and in training were compared. No significant differences between attending pathologists and residents were identified in how these cases should be managed. Our study demonstrated remarkable concordance between practicing pathologists and residents as to what constitutes professionalism and how to manage unprofessional behavior. Our case-based approach can be a useful technique to teach professionalism to both pathologists in practice and in training
Ab initio potential energy curves, scattering lengths, and rovibrational levels of the He molecular ion in excited electronic states
We calculate accurate potential energy curves for a ground-state He ion
interacting with a He atom in the lowest-energy metastable electronic
state. We employ the full configuration interaction method, equivalent to exact
diagonalization, with results extrapolated to the complete basis set limit. The
leading relativistic and adiabatic corrections are included using perturbation
theory. We calculate rovibrational levels and spectroscopic constants of the
He molecular ion in excited electronic states for three stable
isotopologues. We predict the scattering lengths for ultracold ion-atom
collisions. The theoretical data are presented with their uncertainties and
agree well with previous results for the ground state. The reported results may
be useful for the spectroscopy of the He molecular ion in the excited
electronic state and collisional studies of He ions immersed in ultracold
gases of metastable He atoms.Comment: 18 pages, 6 figures, 7 table
Orion European Service Module (ESM) Development, Integration and Qualification Status
Following the very successful series of five Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) missions to the International Space Station (ISS) which were completed in 2015, ESA and NASA jointly decided to partially offset the European obligations deriving from the extension of the ISS Programme until the end of 2020 with different means. The selected barter option was a new development : the provision by ESA of the European Service Module (ESM) for NASA's new Orion human exploration spacecraft as part of the Exploration Mission 1 (EM-1). This development and production was entrusted to the prime contractor of the ATV, Airbus Defence and Space in Bremen, Germany

This text is a report on a survey conducted on a group of students of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan in December 2022. The authors wanted to obtain answers to questions concerning attitudes towards the law and political views of students of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The research used an anonymous, single-choice, audiotaped, supervised survey questionnaire with closed questions.Niniejszy tekst stanowi sprawozdanie z badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych na grupie studentów Wydziału Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu im.
