Emerging trends on the topic of Information Technology in the field of Educational Sciences: a bibliometric exploration
The paper presents a bibliometric analysis on the topic of Information
Technology (IT) in the field of Educational Sciences, aimed at envisioning the
research emerging trends. The ERIC data base is used as a consultation source;
the results were subjected to productivity by authors, journals, and term
co-occurrence analysis indicators for the period 2009-2013. The productivity of
Computers & Education, and Turkish Online Journal of Educational
Technology-TOJET, as well as the preceding authors from Canada, have been
emphasized. The more used terms are the following: Information technology,
foreign countries, educational technology, technology integration, and student
attitudes. Researches performed here seem to have a largely qualitative
character, highlighting computers and internet as the mostly explored
technological objects. The largest subject matter trend refers to the
integration of IT in the higher education learning context, and its incidence
over the teaching methods
Midiendo la calidad de la informacion gestionada: algunas reflexiones conceptuales-metodologicas
The study, based on a documental classic analysis, presents conceptual and
methodological guidelines concerning the design of methodologies that help to
measure the quality of information that is managed in organizations. It is
described the process of information management and the importance of
implementing quality principles in it. There are exposed the four dimensions of
information quality as part of an indicators integration which characterize the
informational contents. There are defined each of the phases in the
methodological design to evaluate the information. There also are indicated the

From Geometry to Numerics: interdisciplinary aspects in mathematical and numerical relativity
This article reviews some aspects in the current relationship between
mathematical and numerical General Relativity. Focus is placed on the
description of isolated systems, with a particular emphasis on recent
developments in the study of black holes. Ideas concerning asymptotic flatness,
the initial value problem, the constraint equations, evolution formalisms,
geometric inequalities and quasi-local black hole horizons are discussed on the

The nucleosynthesis of heavy elements in Stars : The key isotope 25Mg
This is an Open Access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License 2.0, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly citedWe have measured the radiative neutron-capture cross section and the total neutron-induced cross section of one of the most important isotopes for the s process, the 25Mg. The measurements have been carried out at the neutron time-of-flight facilities n-TOF at CERN (Switzerland) and GELINA installed at the EC-JRC-IRMM (Belgium). The cross sections as a function of neutron energy have been measured up to approximately 300 keV, covering the energy region of interest to the s process. The data analysis is ongoing and preliminary results show the potential relevance for the s process.Peer reviewe
Natural selection on cork oak: allele frequency reveals divergent selection in cork oak populations along a temperature cline
A recent study of population divergence at neutral markers and adaptive traits in cork oak has observed an association between genetic distances at locus QpZAG46 and genetic distances for leaf size and growth. In that study it was proposed that certain loci could be linked to genes encoding for adaptive traits in cork oak and, thus, could be used in adaptation studies. In order to investigate this hypothesis, here we (1) looked for associations between molecular markers and a set of adaptive traits in cork oak, and (2) explored the effects of the climate on among-population patterns in adaptive traits and molecular markers. For this purpose, we chose 9-year-old plants originating from thirteen populations spanning a broad range of climatic conditions. Plants established in a common garden site were genotyped at six nuclear microsatellites and phenotypically characterized for six functional traits potentially related to plant performance. Our results supported the proposed linkage between locus QpZAG46 and genes encoding for leaf size and growth. Temperature caused adaptive population divergence in leaf size and growth, which was expressed as differences in the frequencies of the alleles at locus QpZAG46
