Phase diagram as a function of temperature and magnetic field for magnetic semiconductors
Using an extension of the Nagaev model of phase separation (E.L. Nagaev, and
A.I. Podel'shchikov, Sov. Phys. JETP, 71 (1990) 1108), we calculate the phase
diagram for degenerate antiferromagnetic semiconductors in the T-H plane for
different current carrier densities. Both, wide-band semiconductors and

Gate-controlled conductance through bilayer graphene ribbons
We study the conductance of a biased bilayer graphene flake with monolayer
nanoribbon contacts. We find that the transmission through the bilayer ribbon
strongly depends on the applied bias between the two layers and on the relative
position of the monolayer contacts. Besides the opening of an energy gap on the
bilayer, the bias allows to tune the electronic density on the bilayer flake,
making possible the control of the electronic transmission by an external

Viscoelastic model for the dynamic structure of binary systems
This paper presents the viscoelastic model for the Ashcroft-Langreth dynamic
structure factors of liquid binary mixtures. We also provide expressions for
the Bhatia-Thornton dynamic structure factors and, within these expressions,
show how the model reproduces both the dynamic and the self-dynamic structure
factors corresponding to a one-component system in the appropriate limits
(pseudobinary system or zero concentration of one component). In particular we
analyze the behavior of the concentration-concentration dynamic structure
factor and longitudinal current, and their corresponding counterparts in the
one-component limit, namely, the self dynamic structure factor and self
longitudinal current. The results for several lithium alloys with different
ordering tendencies are compared with computer simulations data, leading to a
good qualitative agreement, and showing the natural appearance in the model of

Shot-noise anomalies in nondegenerate elastic diffusive conductors
We present a theoretical investigation of shot-noise properties in
nondegenerate elastic diffusive conductors. Both Monte Carlo simulations and
analytical approaches are used. Two new phenomena are found: (i) the display of
enhanced shot noise for given energy dependences of the scattering time, and
(ii) the recovery of full shot noise for asymptotic high applied bias. The
first phenomenon is associated with the onset of negative differential
conductivity in energy space that drives the system towards a dynamical
electrical instability in excellent agreement with analytical predictions. The
enhancement is found to be strongly amplified when the dimensionality in
momentum space is lowered from 3 to 2 dimensions. The second phenomenon is due
to the suppression of the effects of long range Coulomb correlations that takes
place when the transit time becomes the shortest time scale in the system, and
is common to both elastic and inelastic nondegenerate diffusive conductors.
These phenomena shed new light in the understanding of the anomalous behavior
of shot noise in mesoscopic conductors, which is a signature of correlations

Geometrical resonance in spatiotemporal systems
We generalize the concept of geometrical resonance to perturbed sine-Gordon,
Nonlinear Schrödinger and Complex Ginzburg-Landau equations. Using this
theory we can control different dynamical patterns. For instance, we can
stabilize breathers and oscillatory patterns of large amplitudes successfully
avoiding chaos. On the other hand, this method can be used to suppress
spatiotemporal chaos and turbulence in systems where these phenomena are
already present. This method can be generalized to even more general
