AbstractIntroductionImpact noise is characterized by acoustic energy peaks that last less than a second, at intervals of more than 1s.ObjectiveTo quantify the levels of impact noise to which police officers are exposed during activities at the shooting range and to evaluate the attenuation of the hearing protector.MethodsMeasurements were performed in the shooting range of a military police department. An SV 102 audiodosimeter (Svantek) was used to measure sound pressure levels. Two microphones were used simultaneously: one external and one insertion type; the firearm used was a 0.40 Taurus® rimless pistol.ResultsThe values obtained with the external microphone were 146dBC (peak), and a maximum sound level of 129.4dBC (fast). The results obtained with the insertion microphone were 138.7dBC (peak), and a maximum sound level of 121.6dBC (fast).ConclusionThe findings showed high levels of sound pressure in the shooting range, which exceeded the maximum recommended noise (120dBC), even when measured through the insertion microphone. Therefore, alternatives to improve the performance of hearing protection should be considered

The Portuguese Project Management Observatory (PPMO), an initiative of the Portuguese Association of Project Management (APOGEP), is being developed by the University of Minho in partnership with other 17 Higher Education institutions. The main objectives of this research were to understand the tools and techniques most and least used by organizations, the use of agile methodologies, the maturity of each Project Management area, and success dimensions. The method selected for this study was a survey applied through an online questionnaire directed to Portuguese organizations. The results show that the most used Tools and Techniques are Kick-off Meeting, Progress Meetings, Project Work Description, Gantt Chart, and Activity List; and the least used are Monte Carlo Analysis, Decision Tree, Project Management Software for Simulation, Conferences for Bidding, and Parametric Estimation. Statistically significant differences were found between the use of various Tools and Techniques and factors such as gender, age, current position, education level, and activity sector. Agile methodologies are used in a large part of the respondents' organizations, however, no correlation was identified between the use of agile methodologies and the accomplishment of scope, time and cost of projects. The process identified as having the highest maturity is Definition of Activities in the Project Schedule Management area, followed by Project Execution in the Project Integration Management area, and the Schedule Development in the Project Schedule Management area. Customer Satisfaction is the KPI most used.- (undefined

CONCLUSÃO: vários conceitos estabelecidos para adultos são transpostos para a faixa pediátrica, o que é inadequado, podendo ocasionar graves conseqüências à saúde dos recém-nascidos e lactentes.INTRODUCTION: the nutritional needs and particularly, the energetic metabolism in childhood is a controversy in the literature. OBJECTIVE: to characterize the energetic spent at rest in infants with sepsis. METHOD: the database of Medline, SciELO and Lilacs was consulted. We used as search strategy the words: newborn and energy spent or sepsis in all fields. RESULTS: In the case of sepsis , the child presents immaturity of the enzymatic system, which limits the production of some aminoacids, such as cystein (cistationase enzyme deficit in preterm), taurine, gutamine and nucleotides as coline e inositol. This fact turns those nutrients conditionally essential for children. CONCLUSION: many concepts for adults are used in childohood, which is not correct and may cause several consequences to the health of infants

Background: Acute viral bronchiolitis is a respiratory disease with high morbidity that affects newborn in the first two years of life. Its treatment with physiotherapy has been highlighted as an important tool, however, there is no consensus regarding its effects on patients improvement. We aimed to evaluate the physiological parameters before and after the procedure respiratory therapy in newborn with acute viral bronchiolitis. Method: This was a cross sectional observational study in 30 newborns with acute viral bronchiolitis and indicated for physiotherapy care in a hospitalized Urgency and Emergency Unit. It was collected the clinical data of newborn through evaluation form, and we measured heart rate (HR), oxygen saturation (SpO2) and respiratory rate (RR). We measured the variables before physiotherapy treatment, 3, 6 and 9 minutes after the physiotherapy treatment. Results: There has been no change in HR, however, we observed a decrease in RR at 6 and 9 min compared to 3 min and increase in SpO2 at 3, 6 and 9 min compared to before physiotherapy. Conclusion: Respiratory physiotherapy may be an effective therapy for the treatment of newborn with Acute Viral Bronchitis
