Simon's Unique Contribution and Its Relevant Theoretical Impact
This work intends to demonstrate the relevance and range of the contributions of Herbert A. Simon, as the pace of its ideas were useful as fundament to the development of many theoretical currents out of the mainstream. In this picture it will be highlighted, very briefly, examples in the post-keynesian theory and in the theory of transaction cost economics. The essay makes a brief review of how interesting Simon’s contribution started to be important for the pillars of the theories with different analytical branches, as well as discloses meaningful ruptures in the orthodoxy caused by this methodological fundament, bringing new dimensions to the debate between of schools of divergent thoughts.bounded rationality; rational expectations

Marketing of Agricultural Products in Alagoas: A Study of Marketing Margins and Price Transmission
This study aims to analyze the empirical results of marketing margins and price transmission of some agricultural products in trade fairs in the state of Alagoas, Brazil. Two agricultural products were used in this study: the curly lettuce and cassava (mandioca). These were sought to differentiate the marketing in various trade fairs in different regions, dividing these into the capital (Maceió and Rio Largo) and interior (Pão de Açúcar and União dos Palmares). The model shows that with the price transmission of the two products tested there is greater difficulty in passing on the producer price for retailers in the capital over the interior. Probably, this indicates that the shorter marketing channel within any influence on this result, for then there is the largest producer of direct participation in the process of formation of the final product price. Moreover, the greater perishability of lettuce influences the results significantly.marketing; marketing margin; transmission price

Desregulamentação e Migração da Cana-de-açúcar em Alagoas
The economic formation of Alagoas is strongly related to the sugar cane culture introduced in the colonial period. Initially, the sugar cane plantations and mills were installed on the state’s coast, in areas where the topography was more rugged, but the soil and hydrography were conducive to the cultivation of cane. Innovations by the sugar-alcohol sector enabled the planting of sugar cane in the tablelands, by making mechanization of the harvest feasible. This allowed the migration of cane plantations to these regions, releasing areas which are now occupied for raising cattle. This article makes a descriptive analysis of the interesting changes in the sugar-alcohol sector that allowed the expansion of sugar cane production in East Alagoas, but in a transition process that reveals the importance of analyzing disaggregated data of microregion, such as the specific edaphoclimatic characteristics and relevance of diffusion of technologies

Preference for Liquidity of Agents: An Analyse of Brasilian Case
This work is meant to show the relevance of the role of money in explaining regional
disparities. Points out that before the currency and the banks are incorporated theories of
regional development, had two views on regional development, founded on a convergence
of unequal growth and divergence in another, where the rates would become increasingly
unequal. The literature on the regional economy have given little attention to financial
variables and their role in regional development. In this context, the currency has received
secondary treatment in the analysis of the regional economy, perhaps in the belief of some
theorists in the neutrality of money in the long run, or others who have relied on the
assumption of perfect interregional mobility of capital. However, this perspective has been
changing in recent years, particularly in post-Keynesian agenda. Thus, we intend to
examine the behavior of the public regarding the preference for liquidity in the face of
regional characteristics and the financial instability and therefore demonstrate their
relevance to explain the differences in regional economic development. To analyze the
decision to demand money was used educational and behavioral aspects. The hypothesis
that there is a financial concentration in regions with a lower liquidity preference was
ratified. For this, the study was developed based on the analysis of units of the Brazilian
federation. The database of the Central Bank, and Datasus allowed the use of the formula
suggested by the literature pertinent to the them
A Comercialização dos Produtos Orgânicos na Feira Agroecológica de Maceió/AL: Uma Avaliação sob a Lógica da Teoria dos Custos de Transação.
The Theory of the Costs of Transaction disciplines that in a certain market there must
exist a flow of information, in way to propitiate a favorable atmosphere to the decrease
of the uncertainty and asymmetry of information that would avoid the fraud attitudes
and consequently the reduction of the transaction costs. In the organic agriculture the
certification formally established it is the only instrument that guarantees that the
product can really be classified as organic. This essay starts from the presupposition that
a solid institutional ambient can guarantee a reputation to the producer and the retail
companies giving to the consumer the faith in their words even without the presence of
a formal organic certification and reducing the transaction costs. It is tried to answer the
following inquiries: (i) can the transaction costs be reduced by the relationship of trust
among the producers/merchants to the consumers and retail companies and of the retail
companies for the consumers? (ii) will the consumer be able to, to have certainty that is
acquiring a product classify as organic, given there is an asymmetry of information in
certain situations and the actions opportunists' latent possibility? The conclusion was
that, the transaction costs regarding commercialization of the organic products of the
Fair Agroecológica of Maceió, they can be decreased having a favorable atmosphere to
attitudes opportunists, uncertainty and a high situation of asymmetry of information,
once the consumer possesses the faith that it is consuming a product of organic origin,
based on his/her trust relationship with the producers/merchants and of the support of
SEBRAE/AL corroborating the hypothesis that a solid institutional atmosphere should
reduce the uncertainties and to inhibit the practices opportunists on the side of the
agents
