Este trabalho avalia a questão da influência da capacitação tecnológica, no que concerne a investimentos em P&D, sobre o desempenho exportador da indústria de software. Foram pesquisadas 488 empresas, pertencentes à base de dados da Secretaria de Política de Informática do Ministério da Ciência e Tecnologia (SEPIN/MCT). Revelou-se que o nível de investimentos em P&D não pareceu estar significativamente correlacionado ao desempenho exportador das empresas. Discussões acerca dessa constatação e sobre as perspectivas de competitividade da indústria brasileira de software finalizam este trabalho

The role of technological capability in software export performance of the brazilian software industry

Setores como o de software requerem organizações aptas a aplicarem suas capacidades tecnológicas. Apesar do fato de a capacidade técnica brasileira do setor ter gerado resultados reconhecidos internacionalmente, os incentivos dados a essa indústria não foram suficientes para permitir que o país atingisse as metas de exportação preestabelecidas. O objetivo deste estudo é verificar o papel que a capacitação tecnológica exerce sobre o desempenho exportador dos produtos e serviços de software. A expectativa inicial era de que o nível de capacitação tecnológica tivesse uma contribuição significativa para a expansão dos negócios internacionais e que fosse positivamente correlacionado a resultados de exportação. Para a análise, foram selecionadas 488 empresas integrantes da indústria brasileira de software, pesquisadas a partir da base de dados da Secretaria de Política de Informática do Ministério da Ciência e Tecnologia (SEPIN/MCT). A correlação entre capacitação tecnológica e desempenho exportador foi observada em aspectos referentes a ações de incentivo à capacitação e contribuição de novos produtos ao faturamento.Software activities demand organizations that are able to apply their technological capabilities. Recursos compartilhados: uma aplicação da visão baseada em recursos em um condomínio tecnológico no paraná

This paper is a result of a research realized in a condominium of technological companies. It intends to analyze the contribution of the shared resources to the generation of sustainable competitive advantage. The finds showed that the individual capacity of the companies, the differences of each kind of resource and the collaborative alliances are determinants for the competitiveness. The entrepreneurs were unanimous to confirm that all of the companies are more benefited in their competitive capacity than injured for a possible internal competition. Moreover, the analyze of the data suggests a intense relationship among the features of intangibility and dynamism of the resources, what can create opportunities during long periods and consequently generate sustainable competitive advantage for the companies members of the condominium.Este trabalho é proveniente de uma pesquisa realizada em um condomínio de empresas de base tecnológica e tem por objetivo analisar de que forma os recursos compartilhados entre as empresas no condomínio contribuem para a geração de vantagem competitiva sustentável para as suas empresas. A pesquisa descritiva em forma de estudo de caso utilizou dados secundários e primários para a análise, os quais revelaram que não são apenas as diferenças dos recursos e as capacidades individuais das empresas os determinantes da competitividade, mas também a existência de um ambiente e de relações de alianças colaborativas no uso dos recursos é parte da natureza competitiva de suas empresas. Os empresários das empresas participantes do condomínio foram unânimes em destacar que as suas empresas são mais beneficiadas em suas capacidades competitivas pelos recursos compartilhados, entre as demais empresas, do que prejudicadas pela concorrência interna possivelmente existente
