Accuracy of impact broadening models in low-density magnetized hydrogen plasmas

International audienceThe impact approximation used in the modelling of Stark profiles is examined when a magnetic field is present. Motivated by tokamak plasma spectroscopy, we calculate line shapes and $S$-matrix elements for the first Lyman lines of hydrogen with two models proposed for retaining simultaneously Stark and Zeeman effects in the impact limit. An evaluation of the accuracy of the two approaches is made with the help of a numerical simulation

Anthracenediylidene derivatives: control of molecular and supramolecular architecture

In the context of new π-donor molecules, extended tetrathiafulvalenes have been widely studies for their use as components of electronically conductive charge-transfer materials. In contrast with the planar π -systems, we have focused our attention on extended tetrathiafulvalenes containing a conjugated anthracenyl spacer (anthracenediylidene derivatives). These TTF derivatives adopt a saddle-shaped conformation in the neutral state and a drastic change of conformation occurs upon oxidation to the dication species. Our main objective was to investigate the molecular and supramolecular architecture of these compounds. At the molecular scale, we synthesised cyclophanes by bridging the preformed anthracene tetrathiafulvalene system and studied their redox properties and crystal packing. We developed the chemistry of anthracenediylidene derivatives in order to direct the supramolecular architecture by secondary interactions (hydrogen-bonding, π-π stacking). Finally, we also investigated the incorporation of anthracenediylidene units inside dendritic structures in order to study the highly charged species formed upon oxidation

A spectral line shape analysis of motional stark effect spectra

We present here a kinetic model, based on the selectivity of excitation cross sections of Stark states in the parabolic basis. Redistribution due to ion-atom collisions among Stark states of level n=3 allow to calculate the population of Stark states. This model permits to improve significantly the agreement between measured and calculated MSE spectra

Thin Film Electrodeposition of Ir(III) Cyclometallated Complexes

Novel electropolymerizable Ir(III) cyclometallated complexes have been synthesized and characterized. In these complexes the cyclometallated ligands are either 2-phenylpyridine H(PhPy) or benzothiazole-triphenylamine H(BzTh-tpa), while the Ir(III) coordination sphere is completed by a Schiff base substituted with a triphenylamine fragment. A complete electrochemical study has been conducted on all complexes, in order to verify the feasibility of electropolymerization and to elucidate the role of the specific position of the triphenylamine moiety in the molecular structure. Homogeneous thin films of Ir(III) metallopolymers have been successfully obtained through electropolymerization process

Extraction d'informations sémantiques dans le DEM et le LVF

Le travail présenté ici se situe dans le cadre de l'élaboration d'un système de traitement automatique du langage (TAL), pour la détection automatique de relations de coréférence intra- et inter-phrases en français, plus spécifiquement pour le traitement des anaphores pronominales et des coréférences directes. Nous décrivons comment nous avons utilisé les ressources du Dictionnaire électronique des mots (DEM) et Les Verbes Français (LVF) pour en extraire automatiquement des informations sémantiques sur les noms communs, les verbes et les adjectifs, et comment ces informations ont ensuite été exploitées pour la détection automatique de relations de coréférences.The work presented here is part of the development of a natural language processing system (NLP), for automatic detection of intra- and inter-sentence co-reference relations in French texts, more specifically to identify pronominal anaphors and direct co-references. We describe how semantic knowledge has been extracted from the « Dictionnaire électronique des mots » (DEM) and « Les Verbes Français » (LVF) for nouns, verbs and adjectives; and how this information has been used for automatic co-reference/anaphora resolution

Mesoporous TiO2 Thin Films: State of the Art

Mesoporous TiO2 thin films (MTTFs), thanks to their particularly high surface area, controlled porosity, high flexibility in composition, and surface design, are promising candidates in different application fields such as sensors, self-cleaning coatings, lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), photocatalysis, and new-generation solar cells. This chapter is focused on the synthetic and post-synthesis aspects that can affect the TiO2 mesoporous structure and consequently the MTTF properties. In particular, after a brief summary of TiO2 properties, all experimental conditions to prepare MTTFs are reviewed as well as the main characterization techniques employed to study their physicochemical and photocatalytic properties. An overview of the main applications of MTTFs is also proposed, mainly focused on the use of MTTFs in sensors and LIBs

El espacio marginal como núcleo autorreferencial (retórico, compositivo, conceptual) en La pícara Justina

La pícara Justina de Francisco López de Úbeda offre une explosion de virtualités textuelles. La fragmentation constitue l’une des caractéristiques formelles fondamentales de l’œuvre, véritable corpus de poèmes, de textes en prose, de paragraphes conclusifs moralisateurs, de notes à la marge ; autant de formes d’écriture combinées entre elles en un puzzle singulier. Nous explorons les notes marginales en tant que fil d’Ariane dans le labyrinthe de l’œuvre. Son histoire éditoriale permettra d’apporter un éclairage génétique aux notes. La présence des marginalia dans toutes les éditions du livre place l’autoréflexion au centre de la composition rhétorique de l’ensemble. L’instance narrative qui produit l’ensemble des textes apparaît de manière multiple, comme en diffraction. L’effet de style que produit l’inclusion des annotations, partie intégrante de l’œuvre, invite par ailleurs à considérer leur motivation au second degré : elles constituent un reflet du caractère marginal de la substance narrative. Ainsi s’offre-t-elle au lecteur s’il se montre disposé à mettre en question le caractère linéaire de la lecture.La pícara Justina de Francisco López de Úbeda ofrece una explosión de virtualidades textuales. Una de las características formales fundamentales del libro es su fragmentación, ya que se trata de un verdadero corpus, compuesto de poemas, prosas, aprovechamientos, notas marginales, formas de escritura de diversa índole combinadas entre sí en un curioso puzle. La apuesta de lectura consiste en explorar los apuntes marginales como uno de los hilos de Ariadna en el laberinto de la obra. Un repaso a la historia y fortuna editorial de la obra permitirá una aproximación genética a dichas notas. La fijación editorial de los marginalia los acuña como fruto de un proceso autorreflexivo dentro de la composición retórica del conjunto. La instancia narrativa de la que emanan los textos parece múltiple y como difractada. El efecto estilístico de la inclusión de las notas como parte íntegra de la obra invita además a considerarlas como una motivación en segundo grado: las notas marginales son un reflejo de lo marginal como sustancia narrativa. Como tal se ofrece al lector, a poco que éste se preste a romper con una lectura lineal
