    Pengaplikasian 12 Prinsip Animasi Disney dan Motion Capture dalam Animasi “Gob And Friends”

    Di Surabaya terdapat studio yang memproduksi animasi bernama Hompimpa Animation Studio yang dilengkapi dengan teknologi motion capture untuk membatu proses produksi animasi. Animasi yang diproduksi oleh studio ini salah satunya adalah Gob and Friends. Serial animasi Gob and Friends merupakan serial animasi untuk anak-anak bergenre komedi. Gob and Friends pernah mendapatkan penghargaan dari Indonesian Film Trailer Awards (IFTA) pada tahun 2015. Animasi tersebut meraih dua penghargaan dalam ajang bergengsi tersebut. Penghargaan yang diraih antara lain sebagai Best Project Trailer dan Audience Favorite. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan dan mendeskripsikan proses pembuatan, karakteristik, dan pengaplikasian 12 prinsip animasi Disney  dengan motion capture dalam proses produksi animasi Gob and Friends.  Penelitian ini menjawab hubungan antara 12 prinsip animasi Disney yang telah menjadi acuan bagi sebagian besar animator dengan Animasi lokal asal Surabaya yang berjudul Gob and Friends dengan perangkat motion capture menggunakan kaidah yang terdapat dalam metode penelitian.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik dan proses dalam memproduksi animasi Gob and Friends, kemudian mencari relasi serta relevansi dengan 12 prinsip animasi Disney dan motion capture dengan mengumpulkan data-data dari Hompimpa Animation Studio sebagai kreator dari animasi Gob and Friends. Hasil dari penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tentang karakteristik visual delapan tokoh utama Gob and Friends. Animasi Gob and Friends  menjadikan 12 prinsip animasi Disney sebagai fundamental dalam proses produksi. Prinsip tersebut dikombinasikan dengan perangkat motion capture untuk produksi yang lebih cepat dan efisien. Karakteristik visual Gob and Friends dibuat dengan gaya kartun dengan visualisasi lingkungan khas Indonesia. Pengaplikasian 12 Prinsip animasi Disney dan motion capture yang saling terintegrasi dan saling mendukung membuat Hompimpa Animation Studio mampu membuat dengan kualitas gerakan yang baik dengan waktu yang relatif cepat.   Kata Kunci : Animasi, Motion Capture, Surabaya &nbsp

    Gob Well Flaring: Design and Impact Analysis

    Currently, over 30 U.S. Coal Mining operations employ a system of degasification to assist in reducing the emission of methane into their mine ventilation systems. All of these mines use vertical gob wells. This is an effective gob de gasification technique for U.S. longwall coal mining operations, particularly when prime movers apply suction to the wellheads (active gas extraction). In most cases mine operators discharge gas recovered from gob wells directly to the atmosphere. This practice poses safety and environmental concerns, and wastes a potential resource. In the U.S. there are no standards for equipping actively extracted or passive gob wellheads. Some states require safety measures such as flame arresters, backflow check valves, fenced enclosures and lightning protection, while some have no guidelines. Many gob wellheads in the U.S. operate as passive ventilation boreholes, some of which operate as open holes and are not equipped with any safety measures as all. Under ideal conditions, operators collect gas (methane in air mixture) directly at the gob wellhead for sale or on-site use. However, because of gob well gas production characteristics (gas quality and quantity), the necessary coordination between de gasification and mine ventilation systems, and because of the economics of commercializing this gas, coal mine operators commonly vent this resource and thereby emit a potent greenhouse gas. This paper presents a system of controlled gob gas flaring that would improve current gob wellhead safety and would encourage refined gob wellhead design and operating practices. It includes a conceptual design of a gob well flare that incorporates safety features and operating practices based on American Petroleum Institute standards. The paper concludes by summarizing the safety benefits, the global environmental benefits, and the potential financial benefits to mine operators of application of this system in the U.S

One of the animation produced by studio is Gob and Friends. Gob and Friends animated series is an animated series for kids with slapstick comedy genre. Gob and Friends get an award from Indonesian Movie Trailer Awards (IFTA) in 2015. The animation get two awards in the prestigious event. Among other awards as the Best Project Trailer and Audience Favorite. The purpose of this research is to explain and describe the manufacturing process, the characteristics, and the deployment of 12 principles of Disney animated with motion capture animation production processes in the Gob and Friends. This study answers the connection between the 12 principles of animation that Disney has become a reference point for the vast majority of local origin with animation animator Surabaya entitled Gob and Friends with motion capture device using the rules contained in research methods. This research used a qualitative approach to describe the characteristics and process in producing animated Gob and Friends, then look for relationship and relevance between the 12 principles of Disney animation and motion capture by collecting data from the Hompimpa Animation Studio as the creator of the animation of the Gob and Friends. The results of this research describe the visual characteristics of the eight main characters of Gob and Friends. The animation of the Gob and Friends made the 12 principles of animation Disney as fundamental in the production process. These principles are combined with motion capture device for production faster and more efficient. The visual characteristics of the Gob and Friends made in the style of the cartoon with the visualization environment typical of Indonesia. Deployment 12 Principle motion capture animated and integrated with each other and support each other to make Hompimpa Animation Studio capable of making quality with good movement with a relatively fast.   Key Words : Animation, Motion Capture, Surabay

    Modelling of Gob Inertization with Nitrogen

    The paper deals with a modelling of nitrogen distribution throughout gob so that the effect of inertization could be measured. The model takes into account flow transient character, methane liberation and different locations for nitrogen injection. Computer modelling, reflecting mathematical models is done by a specially created computer programme NITRO_ GOB, which allows dealing with different parameters of air leakage, of coal waste distribution as well as of gas picture in the gob before inertization. Effective evaluation of the most important parameters - injection place and nitrogen volume- on gob gas picture is illustrated under typical cross-section profiles of gas concentrations in gob depth and also under oxygen reduction in hazardous zones throughout gob surface. Thus the two aerodynamically linked parameters for object inertization control - place of injection and nitrogen amounts, can be studied. As a result of modeling, some changes in injection technology are suggested, leading to improvement of nitrogen distribution in SPONCOM hazard zones

    The Metallo-β-lactamase GOB Is a Mono-Zn(II) Enzyme with a Novel Active Site

    Metallo-β-lactamases (MβLs) are zinc-dependent enzymes able to hydrolyze and inactivate most β-lactam antibiotics. The large diversity of active site structures and metal content among MβLs from different sources has limited the design of a pan-MβL inhibitor. Here we report the biochemical and biophysical characterization of a novel MβL, GOB-18, from a clinical isolate of a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen, Elizabethkingia meningoseptica. Different spectroscopic techniques, three-dimensional modeling, and mutagenesis experiments, reveal that the Zn(II) ion is bound to Asp120, His121, His263, and a solvent molecule, i.e. in the canonical Zn2 site of dinuclear MβLs. Contrasting all other related MβLs, GOB-18 is fully active against a broad range of β-lactam substrates using a single Zn(II) ion in this site. These data further enlarge the structural diversity of MβLs

    Modeling The Effect Of Barometric Pressure Changes On Spontaneous Heating In Bleederless Longwall Panels: Preprint

    Barometric pressure changes affect air density, leading to change in the mass of the gas in the gob. When the barometric pressure decreases, the volume of gas in the gob expands, while the volume of gas contracts when the barometric pressure increases, causing the gob to breathe out and in. Although the concept of gob breathing is simple, its effect on spontaneous heating of coal in the gob area is not clear. In this study, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were conducted to model the spontaneous heating of coal in longwall gob area under measured barometric pressure changes. A single longwall panel using a bleederless ventilation system was simulated. If there is no barometric pressure change, the intake airflow rate is equal to the return airflow rate. When the barometric pressure changes, these two airflow rates are no longer equal, and the difference between the two airflow rates represents the airflow rate the gob breathes in and out. The effect of inflow and outflow of gas on the potential spontaneous heating in the gob was investigated using the CFD model developed in our previous study. The effect of barometric pressure changes on the spontaneous heating was found to be dependent on the gob permeability and the coal oxidation rate.     Coupling Simulation Model Between Mine Ventilation Network and Gob Flow Field

    Many numerical simulation studies of coal spontaneous combustion have focused on the leakage flow field in the mine gob. However, most of these studies isolate the gob from the mine ventilation system, failing to consider the effects of air leakage on gob boundary conditions. A novel model coupling the mine ventilation network (MVN) and gob flow field (GFF) has been developed to simulate the overall mine ventilation system. The concept of network boundary node was proposed and the corresponding air flow rate balance equations were developed based on the node pressure method for MVN calculation and the finite element method for GFF simulation. These equations, containing the rate of air flow not only from the branches but also from the gob, revealed the coupling relationship between 1D MVN and 2D/3D GFF. An iterative solution technique was developed to solve the coupling model, which has been incorporated into a program i-MVS. An illustrative example with coarse mesh is used to verify the stability and convergence of the model. Results of an application case show that the coupling model has sufficient precision and the developed software is efficient in implementing the computations
