Document type in the ISBN Statistics

    Get PDF
This paper studies the documental types used in the ISBN system of Spain and Argentina. It first describes how new technologies affect the registry of the book production of the publishing sector. Thereafter it considers the book’s definition of the legislation of both countries and the function of the national bibliographic control. Analyzes the statistic data of the Spanish and Argentine ISBN agencies about ebook production. Final remarks are related to the proposal of a new documental tipology for the registry of new formats and sources used in the digital publishing industry

Identificación de autores: Nombres y números

The identification of authors has a crucial role at the moment of information retrieval, also for the correct attribution of authorship of the works, the distribution of royalties for copyright concepts (DRM), and to facilitate interoperability among authors, consumers, publishers and cultural organizations such as rights management societies, libraries and bibliographic agencies. This presentation provides an overview of the bibliographic identification systems; studies the concept, objectives and characteristics of bibliographic identifiers (unique identifiers). Describes the International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI): its objectives and its administration. Explains their structure and their usefulness in the public identity disambiguation with respect to the individual author, variants in transliteration and linguistic variants. It concludes with examples of the ISNI and Virtual International Authority File (VIAF) databases

The objective of this study is to analyze the integration of mobile information services in academic libraries, to clarify the theoretical and methodological elements involved in the generation of innovative library services of information. The mobile information services in academic libraries are adopted by different user communities that frequent this type of libraries. Mobile devices make possible the remote consultation of digital information resources through the use of mobile applications generated or adapted by academic libraries. This phenomenon has led to the emergence of intelligent academic libraries, characterized by the technological innovation of processes and the use of mobile technologies to support academic activities and research in the universities. Reseña de Estándares del Sistema de Bibliotecas de la Universidad de Buenos Aires / Comisión Técnica de Estándares del Sistema de Bibliotecas de la UBA. Influence of temperature and UVR on photosynthesis and morphology of four species of cyanobacteria

During the late austral spring of 2009 we carried out experiments (4 days of duration) with four cyanobacteria species, Anabaena sp., Nostoc sp., Arthrospira platensis and Microcystis sp., to assess the combined effects of temperature and solar radiation on photosynthesis performance and morphology. Two experimental temperatures (18°C and 23°C, simulating a 5°C increase under a scenario of climate change) and three radiation treatments (by using different filters/materials) were implemented: (i) P (PAR, 400-700 nm), (ii) PA (PAR + UV-A, 320-700 nm) and, (iii) PAB (PAR + UV-A + UV-B, 280-700 nm). In general, samples under the P treatment had less decrease/higher recovery rates of effective photochemical quantum yield (Y) than those receiving UV-A or UV-A + UV-B. The effects of increased temperature were species-specific: At the end of the experiments, it was seen that increased temperature benefited photosynthetic performance of Anabaena sp. and Nostoc sp. but not of Microcystis sp. and A. platensis. Higher temperature was also associated to an increase in the chain area of Anabaena sp., and to bigger trichomes in A. platensis; however, no morphological effects were observed in Microcystis sp. In addition, in Nostoc sp. the increase in temperature counteracted the UVR impact on the reduction of the chain area. How these effects and mechanisms will affect the trophodynamics and production of aquatic ecosystems is still uncertain, but the specificity of the responses suggests that not all cyanobacteria would be equally benefited by temperature increases therefore affecting the balance and interaction among species in the water column.Fil: Fiorda Giordanino, María Valeria. Los nombres en Argentina a partir del nuevo Código Civil y Comercial

    Get PDF
The name is, at the same time, an attribute of personality, a right and a duty of each person. It is a constitutional right of identity and a duty of identification to the State. Regarding the forms of the names in Argentina, the law 18.248 of 1969 establishing rules for the registration of names of natural persons was abrogated by the Civil and Commercial Code of 2014, in force since August 2015. Based on the new Argentine Civil and Commercial Code, our objective is to consider the impact that these new uses will have on the activities related to the authority control at different levels of librarianship and in the cultural industries

Automated deployment and scaling of automotive safety services in 5G-Transformer

    Get PDF
There is a growing interest of verticals (in this case, the automotive industry) to reap the benefits of 5G networks. At the same time, there is a clear trend of the telco industry to under-stand their needs. These are also some of the main goals of the EU 5G-TRANSFORMER (5GT) project. This demo focuses on the need of verticals to dynamically deploy services at the edge and to adapt the vertical service to network operational conditions. In particular, it is presented the extended virtual sensing (EVS) service, which deployed on demand at the distributed computing infrastructure (i.e. in the network), complements sensing and processing functions running in the car to detect the risk of collisions and take appropriate action, even if there is no direct communication between cars. The stringent latency constraints imposed by the EVS network service leave a limited processing budget at the vertical service level. Since such processing time is correlated with the CPU consumption of a virtual machine running a VNF of the EVS network service, in this demo we also show how the vertical service exploits the automated scaling capabilities offered by the 5GT service orchestrator to deploy a new instance of the EVS VNF upon reception of a CPU consumption alert generated by the available 5GT monitoring platform.Grant numbers : grant TEC2017-88373-R (5G-REFINE) and Generalitat de Catalunya grant 2017 SGR 1195.© 2019 IEEE.
