A traveling wave decelerator for neutral polar molecules
Recently, a decelerator for neutral polar molecules has been presented that
operates on the basis of macroscopic, three-dimensional, traveling
electrostatic traps (Osterwalder et al., Phys. Rev. A 81, 051401 (2010)). In
the present paper, a complete description of this decelerator is given, with
emphasis on the electronics and the mechanical design. Experimental results
showing the transverse velocity distributions of guided molecules are shown and
compared to trajectory simulations. An assessment of non-adiabatic losses is
made by comparing the deceleration signals from 13-CO with those from 12-CO and
with simulated signals.Comment: 10 pages, 7 figure

Freiburg RNA tools: a central online resource for RNA-focused research and teaching.
The Freiburg RNA tools webserver is a well established online resource for RNA-focused research. It provides a unified user interface and comprehensive result visualization for efficient command line tools. The webserver includes RNA-RNA interaction prediction (IntaRNA, CopraRNA, metaMIR), sRNA homology search (GLASSgo), sequence-structure alignments (LocARNA, MARNA, CARNA, ExpaRNA), CRISPR repeat classification (CRISPRmap), sequence design (antaRNA, INFO-RNA, SECISDesign), structure aberration evaluation of point mutations (RaSE), and RNA/protein-family models visualization (CMV), and other methods. Open education resources offer interactive visualizations of RNA structure and RNA-RNA interaction prediction as well as basic and advanced sequence alignment algorithms. The services are freely available at http://rna.informatik.uni-freiburg.de
A seguir, alguns tĂłpicos importantes mereceram tratamento Ă parte: a fome, o alimento e o domĂnio religioso, as descobertas europĂ©ias e a difusĂŁo mundial de alimentos, gosto e gastronomia.
Itâs in use at the Technische UniversitĂ€t Bergakademie Freiberg since 2011. In the future the app will be equipped with new and enhanced functionality. We aim to offer a generalized learning platform for all colleges, which is based on the bring your own device principle. Given the current state and scope of the project we will strive to connect OPAL to our platform, generalize the layout and interfaces, extend the functionality and develop a concept of multistage authentication. This white paper outlines the current state and introduces the new ideas of the myTU project
Scaling of spin relaxation and angular momentum dissipation in permalloy nanowires
We study the relationship between the damping (alpha) and the nonadiabaticity of the spin transport (beta) in permalloy nanowires.
alpha is engineered by Ho doping, and from the characteristics of the
current-induced domain-wall velocity, determined by high-resolution
x-ray magnetic circular-dichroism photoemission electron microscopy,
beta due to spin relaxation is measured. We find that beta scales with
alpha and conclude that the spin relaxation that leads to nonadiabatic
spin torque originates from the same underlying mechanism as the
angular momentum dissipation that causes viscous damping
Health-related quality of life (HRQOL) before and after treatment of genotype 1 (GT1) infection with elbasvir/grazoprevir (EBR/ GZR): results from the German hepatitis C registry (DHC-R)
Weight gain after interferon-free treatment of chronic hepatitis C â results from the German Hepatitis C-Registry (DHC-R)
Chronic hepatitis C can be treated very effectively with direct-acting antivirals (DAA) with only minor side effects compared to an interferon-containing treatment regimen. The significance of metabolic comorbidities after HCV cure is not well defined. This study aims to investigate short- and long-term weight change of patients receiving interferon-free antiviral treatment for chronic hepatitis C. The German Hepatitis C-registry (DHC-R) is a national multicenter real-world cohort. A total of 5111 patients were followed prospectively after DAA treatment for up to 3 years. Weight change compared to baseline was analyzed at end of treatment and at years 1, 2, and 3 after completion of antiviral therapy. Regression analysis was performed to identify baseline predictors for weight change. While there was no relevant mean weight change (â0.2 kg, SD 4.3 kg) at the end of antiviral treatment, weight started to increase during long-term follow-up reaching +1.7 kg (SD 8.0 kg, p < 0.001) compared to baseline at 3 years (follow-up year 3, FU3) after completion of antiviral therapy. 48%, 31%, and 22% of patients had a weight gain greater than 1, 3, and 5 kg at FU3, respectively. During follow-up, a body mass index (BMI) <30 proved to be the only consistent predictor for weight gain. DAA treatment is followed by a substantial weight gain (+3 kg or more) in one-third of the patients during long-term follow-up. Non-obese patients seemed to be most vulnerable to weight gain. The body compartment involved in weight gain as well as the mechanism of weight gain remain to be elucidated
