Glance on the Critical Role of IL-23 Receptor Gene Variations in Inflammation-Induced Carcinogenesis

In this chapter, we will discuss the importance of genetic variations in the IL-23 receptor (IL-23R) gene in driving the process of inflammation-induced carcinogenesis. By applying bladder cancer (BLC) as a model, we will focus on two contradictory genetic mutations within the receptor gene. The first one is enhanced by cancer and induces inflammation-induced carcinogenesis via up-regulating IL-23/IL-17 inflammatory axis. However, the other preventive one deregulates this inflammatory pathway by distorting the protein nature of the receptor, leading to block its binding affinity. During the process of carcinogenesis, cancer genetically inclines the balance towards the protumor, via over-expressing the IL-23R on the surfaces of immune-bearing cells, particularly tumor-associated monocytes (TAMs) and thus increasing the levels of pro-angiogenic cytokines IL-23 and IL-17

Facile synthesis of new pyrano[3,2-c]quinolones via the reaction of quinolin-2-ones with ethene-1,2,3,4-tetracarbonitrile

Synthesis of heteroannulated pyrano[3,2-c] quinolones was established starting from the reaction of 4-hydroxyquinolin-2-ones with ethene-1,2,3,4-tetracarbonitrile. Several conditions were carried out, and the corresponding product yields were illustrated. The neutral and non-polar condition was the best procedure for product formation. The structure of products was elucidated by NMR, IR, mass spectra, and elemental analysis. X-ray structure analysis was also used to elucidate the structure of the obtained products. The mechanism of products formation was also discussed.Peer reviewe

This thesis deals with problems of translating books from European languages into Arabic in modern Egypt (1830 - 1881). The study examined the issues involved in translation of the various fields, namely religious, ideological, political and juridical subjects, and the problems related to the material culture and the means of modern civilization. On the other hand the study is related to the technical and linguistic problems that arose during translation, and examined the issues of terminology, grammatical forms and phonetics, etc. This thesis involve six chapters are as follow : Chap. 1 - The problems of translation, on religious, ideological subjects. Chap. 2 - The problems of translation on political subjects. Chap. 3 - The problems of material culture translation. Chap. 4 - The problems of terminology. Chap. 5 - The problems of syntax. Chap. 6 - The problems of lexical borrowing.LYON2/BRON-BU (690292101) / SudocLYON-BIU-LSH (693872101) / SudocSudocFranceF

A simple, facile, and convenient practical method for the one-pot synthesis of pharmaceutically interesting 5,5`-(1,4-phenylenebis-(methanylylidene))bis-thiohydantoins via a three-component condensation reaction of terephthalaldehyde, α-amino acids and isothiocyanates had been developed. The S-alkylated derivatives 6a and 6b were obtained by the alkylation of the bis-thiohydantoins 4a with methyl iodide and/or benzyl chloride in a basic media. The molecular structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by their elemental analyses and spectral data (IR, 1H, 13C NMR and MS). The assignment of more stable Z- or E-isomers as the major form of 4a, 6a, and 8a was investigated by DFT calculations at B3LYP/6-31+G* level. Some of the prepared compounds were screened for their in-vitro antimicrobial activity. Compounds 4a, 6 b, 8 b and 8c exhibited low antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria Bacillus cereus. (5Z,5′Z)-5,5′-(1,4-Phenylenebis(methanylylidene))bis(3-benzyl-2-thioxoimidazolidin-4-one) (4b) exhibited good fungicidal activity against Fusarium oxysporum.</p
