    Penerapan Strategi Analisis Wacana Kritis Model Vandijk Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mahasiswa Menganalisis Prosa Fiksi Dan Drama

    The Students find difficulty when doing analysis of prose and drama in the “Prosa fiksi dan drama” course. The difficulties caused by the lack of prior knowledge possessed by the students. In addition, the approaches used in the analysis are the traditional approach. The results of preliminary observations made in the course at the first and the second meeting found results that the average student only understand as much as 35.89 percent of the total content of prosa (novels and romance) and drama scripts.Results and discussion with the students concerning the difficulties to understand the content of the discourse, is caused by: (1) an interest in reading the results of literature (prose and drama) is relatively less, (2) the time required to read prosa and drama discourse relatively long and boring), (3) the student don't have novels a that are required in the course of Prose Fiction and Drama. The reality are really concerned because that skill are required in the course regarding literature based approach. The strategy model Van Dijk Strategy used to overcome this problem.The purpose of this research is to improve and enhance the student's ability to analyze prose and drama by using the strategy of Critical Discourse Analysis model of Van Dijk. This research is action research using the model of Kemmis & McTaggart. In this model, there are four stages that must be passed by the students, planning, action, observation, reflection and re-planning. The students in this research are the second semester students of Indonesian Education Program which are taking the Prose and Drama course. The number of students were at least 39 people consisting of 17 men and 22 women. Performance indicators defined in this study was 85 percent classical completeness.The results of the study found that there is an increasing in the ability of students in reviewing the novel/romance and drama scripts. In the first cycle of performance indicator reached 66.66%. The second cycle performed Because the performance has not reached 85%. The students achieved the ability to examine novel/romance and drama scripts exceed the treshold of performance indicators. The result of the second cycle reached 87.71%

    Keberhasilan suatu produk di pasar, didukung beberapa hal penting, diantaranya kemasan. Peran penting kemasan pada sebuah produk yang akan dijual. Selain bisa menambah nilai estetika, desain kemasan juga bisa menarik perhatian sekaligus bahan promosi.Selain itu produk yang sudah memasuki proses kemas biasanya juga bisa bertahan lebih lama serta bisa melindungi produk dari bahaya kerusakan saat proses pendistribusian. Kemasan adalah pembungkus atau wadah yang biasa dimanfaatkan untuk mencegah atau meminimalisasi adanya kerusakan pada barang di dalamnya. Adapun definisi pengemasan adalah suatu proses memberi wadah atau pembungkus untuk suatu produk. Misalnya, melindungi dari sinar matahari secara langsung, kelembaban udara, oksigen, pemcemaran dari virus atau kumas, dan benturan. Pengemasan produk bisa digunakan sebagai media petunjuk bagi konsumen melalu informasi atau tanda yang terdapat pada kemasannya.     USB-C Power Adapter for DC House Project

    Despite the importance of electricity and the impact it has on our daily lives, many people around the world still live without this essential utility today. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), approximately 1.1 billion people in the world did not have access to electricity in 2017. The DC House Project at Cal Poly aims to provide electricity to people living in rural areas by directly utilizing DC energy generated from renewable or human powered sources without the need for DC-AC conversions. However, one significant issue is the lack of a standardized DC wall socket. Standards for AC wall sockets exist in different countries around the world making it simple for consumers to power their appliances and electronics. No such standard currently exist for DC power delivery to consumer devices. This makes DC power within the house inconvenient for consumers as there is no single plug that all their electronic devices can share. In pursuit of the DC House Project’s overall goal, our project is to design and build a USB-C Power Adapter for the DC House Project. The power adapter will interface with the DC House’s existing 48VDC infrastructure to deliver up to 100W at 20V to various electronic loads, such as laptops. Although USBC is a new and emerging technology, it is well placed to become a standard for DC power delivery. IHS technology projects that USB-C will be utilized in nearly five billion devices by 2021. Additionally, Apple vouched for the versatility of USB-C’s power delivery capability by replacing all of the ports on their current laptops, including the charging port, with USB-C ports. Thus, this project aims to standardize the wall socket utilized within the DC House Project and potentially other DC powered homes so that DC power can be as convenient for consumers as AC power

    Survei Tingkat Kepentingan Dan Penerapan Sumber Dan Siklus Material Dari Greenship Rating Tools Pada Proyek Konstruksi

    Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang telah menerapkan konsep green building yang ditandai dengan diterbitkannya Greenship rating tools oleh Green Building Council Indonesia. Greenship rating tools menilai suatu bangunan berdasarkan 6 aspek, yang salah satunya adalah sumber dan siklus material yang berkaitan erat dengan proyek konstruksi. Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana tanggapan pelaku konstruksi terhadap tingkat kepentingan dan penerapan dari poin sumber dan siklus material. Penyebaran kuesioner dilakukan pada pelaku konstruksi dengan jumlah kuesioner kembali sebanyak 53 responden (38 kontraktor, 6 konsultan, dan 9 developer). Metode pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisa mean, uji Anova dan Importance-Performance Analysis dari data yang berasal dari kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukan responden beranggapan bahwa poin sumber dan siklus material adalah penting, namun masih jarang penerapannya. Beberapa variabel yang menunjukkan hasil di bawah 2,50 ialah “Material Hasil Daur Ulang”, “Material Sumber Daya Terbarukan”, dan “Material Prafabrikasi”. Selain itu, ditemukan juga adanya perbedaan tingkat kepentingan dan penerapan antara beberapa variabel sumber dan siklus material

    Molecular and clinical analysis of Ellis-van Creveld syndrome in the United Arab Emirates

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Ellis-van Creveld (EvC) syndrome is an autosomal recessive chondrodysplastic condition with clinical manifestations that include short-limbs and ribs, postaxial polydactyly and dysplastic nails and teeth. In about two thirds of patients, mutations in either <it>EVC </it>or <it>EVC2 </it>genes have been found to be the underlying cause.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>In this paper, we describe the molecular (DNA sequencing) and clinical analysis of six children diagnosed with EvC from four different families from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).</p> <p>Results</p> <p>All the children had the common clinical and radiological features of this syndrome. However, DNA sequence analysis of the genes shown to be involved (<it>EVC </it>and <it>EVC2</it>) revealed a novel splice site mutation (c.2047-1G>T) in intron 13 of <it>EVC2 </it>gene in one family. In addition, we confirm previous mutational analyses that showed a truncating mutation in exon 13 of <it>EVC </it>gene (c.1813C>T; p.Q605X) in the second family and a single nucleotide deletion (c.981delG; p.K327<it>fs</it>) in exon 8 of <it>EVC2 </it>gene in the third family. No mutations in the exons, splice sites or the promoter regions of either gene have been found in the index case of the fourth family who exhibited "EvC-like" features.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Given the small population size of UAE, our data illustrates further the molecular heterogeneity observed in EvC patients and excludes the possibility of a common founder effect for this condition in the UAE reflecting the current ethnic diversity of the country.</p

    Analisis Kebijakan Hasil Ujian Nasional Sma/ma Untuk Memetakan Tingkat Kompetensi Siswa Dan Mutu Penyelenggaraan Pendidikan Di Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah

    Penelitian Pemetaan Mutu Pendidikan pada Jenjang SMA dilaksanakan di Propinsi Sulawesi Tengah yang berlangsung selama enam bulan yaitu dari Juli sampai Desember 2011. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan kompetensi siswa SMA pada setiap mata pelajaran yang diujikan dalam Ujian Nasional; Mengungkap faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap rendahnya pencapaian SK/KD setiap mata pelajaran yang diujikan dalam Ujian Nasional; Menemukan model alternatif pemecahan masalah rendahnya pencapaian SK/KD setiap mata pelajaran yang diujikan dalam Ujian Nasional; dan Merumuskan model implementasi pemecahan permasalahan rendahnya pencapaian SK/KD setiap mata pelajaran yang diujikan dalam Ujian Nasional. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian replikasi yang terdiri dari 6 kelompok di tingkat kabupaten/kota dan 1 (satu) kelompok ditingkat Provinsi. Desain penelitian dilakukan secara kualitatif-deskriptif dan studi kebijakan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua SMA di Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Sampel SMA di masing-masing Kabupaten sebanyak 5 sekolah. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soft ware olah data hasil UN, tes pelacakan kompetensi guru, panduan interviu, kuesioner dan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis kualitatif dengan pendekatan teoreitik dan triangulasi. Desain model pemecahan masalah disajikan secara kualitatif-deskriptif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah: peta kompetensi siswa SMA yang pencapaiannya SK/KD UN tergolong rendah di Tingkat Provinsi. Faktor yang berpengaruh dalam pencapaian kompetensi siswa adalah kemampuan guru mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran, sarana dan prasarana yang belum memadai, dan pembiayaan sistem monitoring dan evaluasi di kelas. Model alternatif pemecahan masalah antara lain melalui optimalisasi peran MGMP yang berfokus pada peningkatan kapasitas guru dalam merencanakan dan melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran, Lesson Study, pendampingan penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran dan Bimtek penyusunan tes setara UN; dan Model implementasi pemecahan masalah mencakup kegiatan perencanaan bersama di Dinas Pendidikan dan revitalisasi peran MGMP dengan dukungan Perguruan Tinggi melalui pengabdian kepada masyarakat

    Fuhrmann syndrome and the Al-Awadi/Raas-Rothschild/Schinzel phocomelia syndrome are considered to be distinct limb-malformation disorders characterized by various degrees of limb aplasia/hypoplasia and joint dysplasia in humans. In families with these syndromes, we found homozygous missense mutations in the dorsoventral-patterning gene WNT7A and confirmed their functional significance in retroviral-mediated transfection of chicken mesenchyme cell cultures and developing limbs. The results suggest that a partial loss of WNT7A function causes Fuhrmann syndrome (and a phenotype similar to mouse Wnt7a knockout), whereas the more-severe limb truncation phenotypes observed in Al-Awadi/Raas-Rothschild/Schinzel phocomelia syndrome result from null mutations (and cause a phenotype similar to mouse Shh knockout). These findings illustrate the specific and conserved importance of WNT7A in multiple aspects of vertebrate limb development
