The economy of Spain in the eurozone before and after the crisis of 2008

In common with the other periphery countries that joined the euro-zone in 1998-2000, Spain enjoyed ten years of economic prosperity, essentially debt-financed. The financial crisis of 2008 has revealed deep structural problems in the euro-zone, but also among Spain’s fiscally autonomous regions, which differ from the financial problems faced by the other European periphery countries. But the Spanish problems with de-leveraging suggest further difficulties for the euro-zone as it attempts to implement sterner budgetary controls over member states.autonomous regions; Balassa-Samuelson effect; de-leveraging; euro; sovereign bonds

FORMACIÓN CONTINUA DE LOS DOCENTES UNIVERSITARIOS

La universidad constituye el espacio de generación de conocimientos y el referente de desarrollo de la ciencia y la tecnología. En tales circunstancias, la responsabilidad de que la universidad cumpla con su misión reposa, en gran medida, en el desempeño de los docentes que ejercen la cátedra universitaria, su formación es el soporte de la innovación, transformación y producción de los conocimientos. En este sentido, la presente exposición toma como objeto de estudio la formación continua del docente, precisando como campo la formación investigativa del docente universitario. El objetivo es profundizar en los sustentos que sirven de base en la fundamentación de las categorías analizadas. Para el desarrollo de este documento, se consideró el método de investigación documental. Las conclusiones precisadas al término de este documento son resultado del análisis realizado por la autora

Soft Skills: A Comparative Analysis Between Online and Classroom Teaching

Currently the Spanish universities are making a great effort to effectively incorporate the development and assessment of generic skills in their training programs. Information and communications technologies (ICT) offer a wide range of possibilities but create uncertainty among teachers about the process and results. It is considered of interest to conduct a study to analyze the extent to which social skills like commitment, communication and teamwork are acquired by students and teachers. It seeks to ascertain the influence of the learning context, online or classroom training, in the development of these personal skills among the participants in the sample. For this study two universities have been chosen, Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (UDIMA) offering online training environment, and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) with classroom training modality. A total of 257 individuals, 230 students and 27 teachers have answered the survey called Evalsoft. This instrument was designed in the project with the same name by a research team from Universidad Complutense of Madrid (UCM). Some interesting conclusions can be highlighted: it is in the online context where there are higher levels of commitment and teamwork than in the classroom modality; teachers have higher social skills that students and these improve with age. Sex and the training program appear to influence these social skills

El uso de entornos virtuales como mediador del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje y de gestión del conocimiento es cada vez más común en las Instituciones de Educación Superior. Por este motivo, el presente documento tiene como objetivo diagnosticar la situación actual del uso de las Tic’s en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje en la Carrera de Ingeniería en Sistemas Computacionales de la Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí, mismo que se constituye en los primeros avances de un proyecto de investigación piloto que permitirá a la Carrera en mención, estar a la par con universidades de alto nivel y que posteriormente se extenderá a las 13 Carreras que oferta la Universidad. Para el desarrollo de la presente investigación se consideraron los métodos analíticos, sintéticos, cuantitativos y cualitativos, por cuanto se realizó un estudio bibliográfico - documental que permitió estudiar y analizar la bibliografía relacionadas al tema, de igual manera, se aplicó como técnica una encuesta on line a estudiantes de los diferentes semestres de la Carrera, que han brindado aportes sustanciales ante los requerimientos planteados
