Literature of the Central European migration of the second half of the 20th century
In 1995, Sonja Hilzinger drew up a comparison
between the people who fled into exile during the national/socialist
period and the people who are currently recognized as migrants
today. She studied principally the living conditions of both groups
while affirming that her goal was not to compare them but instead
her objective was to highlight the differences between them and
underline the common points with a view to avoiding making the
same errors that had been committed in the past (Hilizinger. 1995:
68, 70). In a similar manner, Henning Müller holds the same opinion:
“that it is possible to draw a relationship between the experiences of
people in the past and the voices of today” (Müller. 1994: 12). Starting
from this approach we will attempt to take a deeper look at the
concept of the “exiled person” and the “literature of exiled people”.
Our objective is to explore both the points of similarity as well as
the divergences between what was once known as migration and the
then called literature of migration or the literature of exiled people,
its most recent physiognomy, and the way in which this evolution
has been produced
Being optimistic or pessimistic is a form of intuitive, premonitory thinking that is conditioned
by one’s personal experience. Some authors consider this attitude to be a subjective
construction relating to expectations generated, motivation and effort. Others authors
consider it to be a personality trait linked to life satisfaction and adaptive response to
context. For this study, 561 university students participated, with an average age of 20.31
years (±3.46). The instruments used were the Life Orientation Test (LOT-R) and the
Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The aim of the study was to determine the structure
of the LOT-R instrument, since many studies have questioned its unidimensional or twodimensional
structure, which compromises the instrument’s validity. Subsequently, it was
related to the SWLS through a Structural Equation Model. The results showed that the
two-dimensional model (optimism and pessimism) was the most appropriate (χ²/df = 4.36;
RMSEA=.072; SRMR=.044; GFI=.960; CFI=.979). Subsequently, the results described
above were related to the Life Satisfaction variable, which reinforced the theoretical model
proposed. Findings corroborated the double dimensionality of the LOT-R instrument,
with a positive relationship between optimism and life satisfaction, and a negative relationship
between pessimism and life satisfaction.
SWLS.
model bidimensional (optimisme i pessimisme) va ser el més adequat (χ²/gl = 4,36;
RMSEA = ,072; SRMR = ,044; GFI = ,960; CFI = ,979). Posteriorment, els resultats

Early Education Care from Its Practitioners to Achieve Sustainability
(1) Background: Early intervention professionals are involved in the reconceptualisation
of their service due to the exceptional situation caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, within the
family context and aware of the children’s needs, with an impact on their emotional well-being
to ensure sustainability. An analysis of their socio–emotional profile and training is increasingly
needed to face their professional development effectively; (2) Methods: In this study, 209 early
intervention professionals participated (n = 209), with an average age of 37.62 (±9.02). The following
instruments were used: Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), Wong Law Emotional Intelligence
Scale (WLEIS-S) and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9). The purpose of the study
was to examine the relationship between early intervention (EI) and engagement as predictors
of greater life satisfaction using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). (3) Results: There exists a
relationship between some dimensions of the instruments used (p < 0.01). The model obtained good
structural validity (χ
2 = 3.264; Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) =.021; Goodnessof-Fit Index (GFI) = 0.991; Comparative Goodness of Fit Index (CFI) = 0.999; Incremental Fit Index
(IFI) = 0.999). Subsequently, the results described above were verified through Bayesian statistics,
thereby reinforcing the evidence provided; (4) Conclusions: Findings highlight the importance of
providing professionals with emotional tools and strategies, from the educational context, in order to
carry out their activity effectively and ensure the sustainability within the current situation, while
remaining fully engaged
INTRODUCTION. The direct involvement of professionals who carry out their activity with people with Intellectual Disability can generate a high degree of stress and emotional exhaustion. The objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between emotional intelligence and dispositional optimism in processes of professional Burnout. METHOD. One hundred forty-four subjects participated in this study, belonging to the Andalusian Association of Organizations in favor of people with Intellectual Disability (Spain). The following instruments were used: Life Orientation Test Revised, Trait Meta-Mood Scale-24 and Maslach Burnout Inventory. The reliability of the scores of each instrument (Cronbach’s alpha and Omega coefficient), correlation between the scores in each of the dimensions, an analysis of differences of means (Student’s t and ANOVA) based on the sociodemographic variables considered, is analyzed as well as a model of structural equations to determine the effects and relationships established by the different constructs under study. RESULTS. The results showed the positive relationship between some of the dimensions of burnout (emotional fatigue, personal fulfilment), emotional intelligence (repair) and dispositional optimism (p<.05). An analysis was performed using structural equations, concluding that the indicators with the greatest regression weight are the Burnout variables (depersonalization) and negatively (personal fulfillment). DISCUSSION. The discussion examines whether findings from the study follow the current trend in research conducted in this field. Among the main contributions of this investigation project is the fact that it is one of the first studies where Emotional Intelligence, Burnout and Dispositional Optimism in professionals of non-formal education of people with Intellectual Disabilities are included.INTRODUCCIÓN.
This study attempts to provide evidence of the relationship between emotional intelligence
and resilience, with optimism vs. pessimism as mediating variables of life satisfaction. The
sample included 403 university students. The average age was 20.86 (SD= 2.56). In relation
to gender, 84.61% were female and 15.39% were male participants. Information was collected
by means of four tools: Wong Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS-S), Resilience
Scale (RS-14), Life Orientation Test Scale Revised (LOT-R) and Satisfaction with Life Scale
(SWLS). Regarding the association between Emotional Intelligence and Resilience, a statistically
significant relationship was observed. Besides, positive relationships were found between
optimism and satisfaction with life; while a negative association with pessimism was noted.
The results indicate that students with a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience
have higher scores in optimism and life satisfaction. Moreover, the structural equation model
showed that Emotional Intelligence and resilience are able to predict higher life satisfaction
directly (β= .19, and β= .26, respectively), but they may also mediate through optimism. This
mediation effect did not appear with the pessimism factor. Finally, the practical implications of this study underline the need to promote emotional intelligence and resilience education
programmes to improve personal well-being.
Asimismo, se encontraron relaciones positivas entre el optimismo y la satisfacción con la vida;
Research Plan of the University of Granada. Title of the project

Analysis of the Pre-Service Teachers’ Academic Stress Based on Their Self-Concept and Personality
Self-concept is a key factor in any teaching–learning process in pre-service teachers. However, it could be negatively affected by academic stress, which is constituted by stressors, stress
symptoms, and coping strategies. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between
academic stress and self-concept in this population. This was a descriptive, correlational, and crosssectional study. The sample consisted of 1020 university students in education degrees. In relation to
sex, it was found that 75.78% were women and 24.21% were men. The following instruments were
used: Self-concept Form 5 (AF-5), the Big Five Inventory-44 (BFI-44), and the SISCO Inventory of
Academic Stress. The results indicated that academic stress increases and self-concept decreases as
studies progress; likewise, most of the students perceived high levels of stress. It was concluded
that academic stress is inversely related to self-concept in pre-service teachers, a fact that should be
taken into account in their initial training. Social-emotional factors and neuroticism have a decisive
influence on the future teachers’ academic stress
Self-Concept As A Regulatory Element Of Academic Procrastination Among Pre-Service Teachers
Most research analysing the relationship between self-concept and procrastination in the academic environment has tried to identify those associated factors that concern how the individual perceives him/herself, the acquired competences and coping skills in terms of the academic results obtained. However, a positive self-concept may be one of the most important elements in achieving adequate personal, emotional and social functioning. The present research aims to provide evidence on the value of self-concept as a regulator of academic procrastination, based on the partial least squares (PLS-SEM) path model approach. A total of 723 pre-service teachers participated in the study. The distribution of gender were: 569 females (78.10%) and 154 male (21.90%), with a mean age of 22.32 years (±5.50). The instruments used were: Self-Concept Questionnaire Form (AF-5) and Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA). The results showed that self-concept is significantly related to academic self-regulation and inversely related to procrastination. The practical consequences suggest preventing through structural strategies those psychosocial factors for the acquisition of competences related to self-concept as a transversal measure in the improvement of self-regulation, procrastination and academic performance of pre-service teachers
