In this paper examines the role that acquires the History of Chemistry (HC) in training program chemistry teachers on didactic of science, who had as core the replica of scientific instruments and experiments of eighteenth century, when they studied the chemical change. The research methodology was inspired by action research, where teachers who participated in the training program were organized into a «Professional Development Community of Teachers (PRODEC)», which initially focused on the knowledge of chemistry (from HC) then they developed a more complex training in didactic of science
Strategies to enhance the 3T1D-DRAM cell variability robustness beyond 22 nm
3T1D cell has been stated as a valid alternative to be implemented on L1 memory cache to substitute 6T, highly affected by device variability as technology dimensions are reduced. In this work, we have shown that 22 nm 3T1D memory cells present significant tolerance to high levels of device parameter fluctuation. Moreover, we have observed that when variability is considered the write access transistor becomes a significant detrimental element on the 3T1D cell performance. Furthermore, resizing and temperature control have been presented as some valid strategies in order to mitigate the 3T1D cell variability.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
procediment a seguir, etc.

MILP-based heuristics for the design of rural community electrification projects
Wind-photovoltaic systems are a suitable option to provide electricity to isolated communities autonomously. To design these systems, there are recent mathematical models that solve the location and type of each of the electrification components and the design of the possible distribution microgrids. When the amount of demand points to electrify increases, solving the mathematical model requires a computational time that becomes infeasible in practice. To speed up the solving process, three heuristic methods based on mixed integer linear programming (MILP) are presented in this paper: Relax and Fix heuristics, heuristics based on a Corridor Method and Increasing Radius heuristics. In all algorithms first a relaxed MILP is solved to obtain a base solution and then it is used as a starting point to find a feasible solution by searching in a reduced search space. For each type of heuristic several options to relax and to reduce the solution space are developed and tested. Extensive computational experiments based on real projects are carried out and results show that the best heuristic vary according to the size of instances.Postprint (author's final draft
Laser-based surface multistructuring using optical elements and the Talbot effect
We present a laser based technique combined with the Talbot effect for microstructuring surfaces. The use of the Talbot effect is introduced as a solution to avoid damage of the periodic object used for micropattering different surfaces during the ablation process. The fabrication of two periodic objects (a mask and a microlens array) for micropattering surfaces and the identification of their Talbot planes is presented. A metal foil is ablated at distances corresponding to selected Talbot planes of the periodic objects. The setup allows us to design the desired pattern and the result is a multistructured surface with a high number of identical microholes, achieving a minimum diameter around 4μm. The different aspect of the periodic object working in direct contact and working at these Talbot distances is shown. These pictures reveal the advantages of working of using Talbot effect for a rapid, repeatable and no-contaminant multistructuring. Some industrial applications are illustrated. This work has been supported by the Consellería de Cultura, Xunta de Galicia/FEDER, Spain

Fe in P-doped basaltic melts: a Mössbauer spectroscopy study
The addition of P to a basalt causes a change in the environment of Fe. At low P contents iron is located in the glass structure and the Fe3+/Fe2+ ratio is about 80/20. Further addition of P causes a collapse of the glass structure related to a phase separation that triggers the crystallization of a more reduced iron-containing phosphate phase with a crystalline structure similar to that of stanfieldite, and Mössbauer parameters similar to those of the alluaudite group, together with the formation of a Fe3+-Fe2+ disordered phase. Their presence increases the viscosity of the melt.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
Laser Surface Microstructuring of Biocompatible Materials Using a Microlens Array and the Talbot Effect: Evaluation of the Cell Adhesion
A laser based technique for microstructuring titanium and tantalum substrates using the Talbot effect and an array of microlenses is presented. By using this hybrid technique; we are able to generate different patterns and geometries on the top surfaces of the biomaterials. The Talbot effect allows us to rapidly make microstructuring, solving the common problems of using microlenses for multipatterning; where the material expelled during the ablation of biomaterials damages the microlens. The Talbot effect permits us to increase the working distance and reduce the period of the patterns. We also demonstrate that the geometries and patterns act as anchor points for cells; affecting the cell adhesion to the metallic substrates and guiding how they spread over the materialThis work has been supported under contracts MAT2015-71119-R, Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, and ISCIII/PI14-01140/FEDER, Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Spain.
