First report of Leptonectes (Ichthyosauria: Leptonectidae) from the Lower Jurassic (Pliensbachian) of Asturias, northern Spain
Early Jurassic ichthyosaurs are well-known based on the abundant and exquisitely preserved European records of the Western Tethys. For example, faunas from Southern England and the Toarcian Posidonia shales of Holzmaden and surrounding areas (Germany) are known worldwide. However, between these areas there are still gaps and/or under-sampled localities from the northern coast of Europe. In recent years as a result of systematic palaeontological and geological explorations of Pliensbachian fossiliferous localities along the coast of Asturias (northern Spain), ichthyosaur specimens have been collected. One of them can be identified at lower taxonomic levels and it is referred to Leptonectes sp. These new findings highlight the richness of the fossil record of the northern coast of Spain and suggest that the abundance of Pliensbachian ichthyosaurs worldwide may have been underestimated.Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Muse

A Discrete-Event Simulation Metamodel for Obtaining Simulation Models from Business Process Models
Organizations need to be agile and fl exible to meet the continuous
changes. Business Process Management (BPM) is harnessing the continuous
changes suffered by organizations in the value chain and, therefore, in their
processes. Simulation models offer the ability to experience different decisions and
analyze their results in systems where the cost or risk of actual experimentation are
prohibitive. BPMN models are not directly executable nor is it possible to simulate
their behavior in various input parameters. This paper proposes the application of
model-driven engineering (MDE) to integrate the defi nition of business processes
with Discrete- Event Simulation (DES) as a tool to support decision-making.
We propose a platform independent DES metamodel and a set of rules, to automatically
generate the simulation model from BPMN 2.0 based business process in
accordance with previous metamodel.Ministerio de Economía y competitividad TIN2010- 20057- C03-02Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2010-20057-C03-03Junta de Andalucía TIC-5789Junta de Andalucía TIC-19
A Qualitative Study Exploring the Experiences and Perceptions of Patients with Hemophilia Regarding Their Health-Related Well-Being, in Salamanca
Hemophilia is a chronic, congenital/hereditary and X-linked disease, characterized by an
insufficiency of factors VIII or IX, which are necessary for blood clotting. Those affected by hemophilia
often suffer from particular psychosocial problems, both in the acceptance, coping, treatment and selfmanagement
of their disease and in their family and social relationships, which are often mediated by
these circumstances. The aim of this study was to explore the experiences of people with hemophilia
or their family members, of in a specific region of Spain, regarding the impact of having hemophilia.
Structured interviews were conducted and developed, using the studies of the World Federation of
Hemophilia and Osorio-Guzmán et al. as a guide, as well as a literature review of qualitative work
on hemophilia. Data were analyzed using a six-step thematic analysis. A total of 34 interviews were
thematically analyzed. The results showed that three key themes emerged from the data: (1) the
daily impact of having hemophilia, (2) uncertainty about the disease, (3) the role of associations and
(4) support from institutions. The results make it clear that the disease has a major impact on their
lives (work, family, leisure and personal environment). The main conclusion is that hemophilia has a
negative impact on the daily lives of patients, families and caregiversMinistry of Science, Innovation and Universities
