    Get PDF
This article analyzes the importance and contributions of the Ninth Summit of the Americas -hereinafter Summit- held in the city of Los Angeles, CA from June 6 to 10, 2022 and its impact on an agenda for a better management of migration and development in a post- pandemic context. Also, the reflection of the work is aimed at evaluating the feasibility of the implementation of the migration pact signed at the Summit based on the public policy approach. The methodology of the article is based on an analysis of the viability of the policies, considering the governance and public policy approaches. The analysis is based on the main elements considered in the viability of a policy, especially the financial dimension, management and the central categories of governance for results, in particular, coordination, incentives, planning and policy evaluation. The effects of migratory flows during the pandemic have also been complex and varied. For example, the closure of borders and the suspension of asylum processing in the United States has helped to slow the spread of the virus and reduce the risks associated with irregular migration.

The southern border of Mexico presents great challenges and opportunities. It is an area of traditional coexistence and daily border dynamics. Despite not presenting a can be done traditional enemy; however, the interests of the United States have made organized crime activities, especially related to drug trafficking; as well as the transit of undocumented migrants is part of the Mexican National Security agenda. This paper proposes that only from a multidimensional and comprehensive approach is it possible to manage a border that takes people into account as human beings, beyond their citizenship.

First report of Leptonectes (Ichthyosauria: Leptonectidae) from the Lower Jurassic (Pliensbachian) of Asturias, northern Spain

    Get PDF
Early Jurassic ichthyosaurs are well-known based on the abundant and exquisitely preserved European records of the Western Tethys. For example, faunas from Southern England and the Toarcian Posidonia shales of Holzmaden and surrounding areas (Germany) are known worldwide. However, between these areas there are still gaps and/or under-sampled localities from the northern coast of Europe. In recent years as a result of systematic palaeontological and geological explorations of Pliensbachian fossiliferous localities along the coast of Asturias (northern Spain), ichthyosaur specimens have been collected. One of them can be identified at lower taxonomic levels and it is referred to Leptonectes sp. These new findings highlight the richness of the fossil record of the northern coast of Spain and suggest that the abundance of Pliensbachian ichthyosaurs worldwide may have been underestimated.Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Muse

The aza-vinylogous Povarov reaction between aromatic amines, α-ketoaldehydes or α-formylesters and α,β-unsaturated dimethylhydrazones was carried out in a sequential three-component fashion under mechanochemical conditions. Following extensive optimization work, the reaction was performed on a vibratory ball mill operating at 20 Hz and using zirconium oxide balls and milling jar, and afforded 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro- 1,5-naphthyridines functionalized at C-2, C-4 and also at C-6, in the latter case. This protocol generally afforded the target compounds in good to excellent yields and diastereoselectivities. A comparison of representative examples with the results obtained under conventional conditions revealed that the mechanochemical protocol affords faster Povarov reactions in comparable yields using a solvent-less environment

This study looked into time variable differences in the teaching competence “Time of motor commitment” in Classical Dance lessons accompanied by either recorded music or a pianist teacher. Fifty recordings of 89 students of a Higher Education Dance Conservatory were analyzed in their ballet lessons with both musical supports. The results show differences in the categories of “Task Time” and “Organization Time” according to the musical support used, showing longer “Task Time” and shorter “Organization time” in lessons with live music. Therefore, live music could provide more productive lessons with less loss of time. Are large water bodies able to act as sensors of global change? As accumulators of water and heat, some of their thermal characteristics might be altered by long term (decadal) hydrometeorological changes and thus may be used as indicators of the effects of global change on fluvial ecosystems. This work focuses on the effect of global change (climate change plus water quantity and land use changes) in the internal organization of Sanabria Lake, specifically in its thermal annual cycle. The existence of temporal trends in the thermal behaviour of the lake was investigated based on the water temperature profiles are available since 1986. Data analyses include the non-parametric Mann-Kendall trend test and the Sen slope estimate to evaluate long term and seasonal patterns of hydrometeorological and in-lake thermal variables. The main results surprisingly point to a net lake cooling that could be explained by a stronger thermocline and a weaker vertical transfer of heat to the hypolimnion during the stratification period. These results contribute to understand and quantify the effects of global change on Iberian freshwater bodies.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
