Se busca conseguir una herramienta que permita introducir, de forma amena, en una asignatura basada en clases prácticas, los conceptos teóricos asociados a la asignatura

Analog controllers using digital stochastic logic

    Get PDF
Stochastic logic is based on digital processing of a random pulse stream, where the information is codified as the probability of a high level in a finite sequence. The probability of the pulse stream codifies a continuous time variable. Subsequently, this pulse stream can be digitally processed to perform analog operations. In this paper we propose a stochastic approach to the digital implementation of complex controllers. This is approach allows for the realization of the controllers, and A/D and D/A converters within a digital programmable device, leading to simple circuit implementations. A practical realization of a classical PID and nonlinear dissipative controllers for the series switching power resonant converter is presented

Stochastic logic is based on digital processing of random pulse stream. In this paper we propose a stochastic approach to the digital implementation of continuous time filters. The similarity between probability and Boolean algebras is exploited to obtain simple realizations. A design of a fourth order filter is presented

ASIC para sistemas de medidas ambientales

    Get PDF

Distributed microprocessor controllers using optic fiber network

    Get PDF
This work continues a previous project devoted to the supervision and control of electric motors in large industrial plants. This project consists in a set of microcontroller boards that communicate with a Global Control Card (GCC) The transmission of messages in the system is done using a optic fiber network. The GCC can be linked to a supervisory computer by a serial communication channel. A program processes the system schematics and authomatically generates the configuration files. This project has been realised in collaboration with INABBNSA (ABENGOA) and funded by the ATICA programme

Accurate and Wide-Field-of-View MEMS-Based Sun Sensor for Industrial Applications

    Get PDF
This paper describes the design, fabrication, sim- ulation, and experimental results of an improved miniaturized two-axis sun sensor for industrial applications, created by adapt- ing a technology used previously in satellite applications. The sensor for each axis is composed of six photodiodes integrated in a crystalline-silicon substrate and a layer of cover glass, which is used to protect the silicon and to hold the windows. The high precision is obtained by the subdivision of the field of view, which is ± 60 ◦ , with a resolution of 0.1 ◦ . Each region is controlled by an independent high-precision solar sensor. The sensor can be used for sun-tracking applications in a photovoltaic system, heliostat concentration plants, and lighting applications.Gobierno de España. MODASC: ASIC for mobile data acquisition systems using satellite communications

    Get PDF
MODASC is an ASIC that performs wide area mobile data acquisition using satellite communication to provide global coverage. This circuit provides two operation modes: an autonomous mode, that periodically establishes connection with the control center, and a slave mode, working as a peripheral connected to a general purpose micro controller. This experiment has been realized under FUSE special action in collaboration with SAINSEL

MKP1 mediates chemosensitizer effects of E1a in response to cisplatin in non-small cell lung carcinoma cells

    Get PDF
The adenoviral gene E1a is known to enhance the antitumor effect of cisplatin, one of the cornerstones of the current cancer chemotherapy. Here we study the molecular basis of E1a mediated sensitivity to cisplatin in an experimental model of Non-small cell lung cancer. Our data show how E1a blocks the induction of autophagy triggered by cisplatin and promotes the apoptotic response in resistant cells. Interestingly, at the molecular level, we present evidences showing how the phosphatase MKP1 is a major determinant of cisplatin sensitivity and its upregulation is strictly required for the induction of chemosensitivity mediated by E1a. Indeed, E1a is almost unable to promote sensitivity in H460, in which the high expression of MKP1 remains unaffected by E1a. However, in resistant cell as H1299, H23 or H661, which display low levels of MKP1, E1a expression promotes a dramatic increase in the amount of MKP1 correlating with cisplatin sensitivity. Furthermore, effective knock down of MKP1 in H1299 E1a expressing cells restores resistance to a similar extent than parental cells. stores resistance to a similar extent than parental cells. In summary, the present work reinforce the critical role of MKP1 in the cellular response to cisplatin highlighting the importance of this phosphatase in future gene therapy approach based on E1a gene

Diagnostic Accuracy of Anthropometric Markers of Obesity for Prediabetes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

    Get PDF
Introduction: Prediabetes is a significant public health concern due to its high risk of progressing to diabetes. Anthropometric measures of obesity, including body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), and waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) have been demonstrated as key risk factors in the development of prediabetes. However, there is a lack of clarity on the diagnostic accuracy and cut-off points of these measures. Objective: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of these anthropometric measures for their most effective use in identifying prediabetes. Methodology: A systematic review (SR) with metanalysis of observational studies was carried out. The search was conducted in four databases: Pubmed/Medline, SCOPUS, Web of Science, and EMBASE. For the meta-analysis, sensitivity and specificity, together with their 95% confidence intervals (CI 95%) were calculated. Results: Among all the manuscripts chosen for review, we had four cross-sectional studies, and three were classified as cohort studies. The forest plots showed the combined sensitivity and specificity for both cross-sectional and cohort studies. For cross-sectional studies, the values were as follows: BMI had a sensitivity of 0.63 and specificity of 0.56, WC had a sensitivity of 0.59 and specificity of 0.58, and WHtR had a sensitivity of 0.63 and specificity of 0.73. In the cohort studies, the combined sensitivity and specificity were: BMI at 0.70 and 0.45, WC at 0.68 and 0.56, and WHtR at 0.68 and 0.56, respectively. All values are provided with 95% confidence intervals. Conclusions: This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of BMI, WC, and WHtR in identifying prediabetes. The results showed variations in sensitivity and specificity, with WHtR having the highest specificity in cross-sectional studies and BMI having improved sensitivity in cohort studies
