Ébola in TChM: Diagnosis, Principles of Treatment and Economical Analysis
Investigación sobre etiología y tratamiento con MTC del ébola, especial referencia al entorno económicoIn this research we go more deeply into EVD, studying the Etiology and realizing a Differentiation of Syndromes according to the systems: Wen Bing, San Jiao and Han Shan Lun. Later, a Treatment for Prevention, Symptomatic/Acute, and Remission phases is proposed. Finally, we study the economic effects of the epidemic in the most affected countries by stressing the importance of preventive health care and international aid, looking at the usefulness of Medical Matter for its low cost especially in the affected societies (that probably they will return to be).Universidad de Málaga. Content and Meaning Constitutive Inferences
A priori theories of justification of logic based on meaning often lead to trouble, in particular to issues concerning circularity. First, I present Boghossian’s a prioriview. Boghossian maintains the rule-circular justifications from a conceptual role semantics. However, rule-circular justifications are problematic. Recently, Boghossian (Boghossian, 2015) has claimed that rules should be thought of as contents and contents as abstract objects. In this paper, I discuss Boghossian’s view. My argumentation consists of three main parts. First, I analyse several arguments to show that in fact, Boghossian’s inferentialist solution is not fully satisfying. Second, I discuss the matter further, if one accepts that basic logical rules are constitutive of meaning, that is, they constitute the logical concepts and the content of a rule is an abstract object, then abstract objects — like, for example, rules — could be constitutive of meaning. The question is whether conceptual priority is in the judgment or in the object and what theory of content is pursued. Grasping content as a matter of knowing how a word or concept behaves in inferences is not completely explicative. Finally, I contend that rules come to exist as a result of certain kinds of mental action. These actions function as constitutive norms. Logical rules are not abstract objects but ideal. What one construes as norms or rules of content may involve idealization, but this is because we share a language
On the centralizer of generic braids
We study the centralizer of a braid from the point of view of Garside theory,
showing that generically a minimal set of generators can be computed very efficiently, as the ultra summit set of a generic braid has a very particular structure. We present an algorithm to compute the centralizer of a braid whose generic-case complexity is quadratic on the length of the input, and which outputs a minimal set of generators in the generic case.Ministerio de Economía y CompetitividadFondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regiona
Analysis of errors in the automatic translation of questions for translingual QA systems
Purpose – This study aims to focus on the evaluation of systems for the automatic translation of questions destined to translingual question-answer (QA) systems. The efficacy of online translators when performing as tools in QA systems is analysed using a collection of documents in the Spanish language.
Design/methodology/approach – Automatic translation is evaluated in terms of the functionality of actual translations produced by three online translators (Google Translator, Promt Translator, and Worldlingo) by means of objective and subjective evaluation measures, and the typology of errors produced was identified. For this purpose, a comparative study of the quality of the translation of factual questions of the CLEF collection of queries was carried out, from German and French to Spanish.
Findings – It was observed that the rates of error for the three systems evaluated here are greater in the translations pertaining to the language pair German-Spanish. Promt was identified as the most reliable translator of the three (on average) for the two linguistic combinations evaluated. However, for the Spanish-German pair, a good assessment of the Google online translator was obtained as well. Most errors (46.38 percent) tended to be of a lexical nature, followed by those due to a poor translation of the interrogative particle of the query (31.16 percent).
Originality/value – The evaluation methodology applied focuses above all on the finality of the translation. That is, does the resulting question serve as effective input into a translingual QA system? Thus, instead of searching for “perfection”, the functionality of the question and its capacity to lead one to an adequate response are appraised. The results obtained contribute to the development of
improved translingual QA systems

Self-Dual codes from (−1,1)-matrices of skew symmetric type
Previously, self-dual codes have been constructed from weighing matrices,
and in particular from conference matrices (skew and symmetric). In this paper, codes
constructed from matrices of skew symmetric type whose determinants reach the Ehlich-
Wojtas’ bound are presented. A necessary and sufficient condition for these codes to be
self-dual is given, and examples are provided for lengths up to 52.Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación MTM2008-06578Junta de Andalucía FQM-016Junta de Andalucía P07-FQM-0298

Risk tasking behaviour and ownership in the banking industry: the Spanish evidence
This paper analyses the determinant of risk_taking in the Spanish financial intermediaries with special emphasis on the ownership structure and size of the different entities. On the one hand, the soecific legal configuration of Spanish Savings banks may lead them to differ from Commercial banks in their risk behaviour. In particular, they may make riskier investments. Nevertheless, other theories indicate that greater stockholder control in Commercial banks may induce them towards greater risk_taking in certain situations. In this paper we test these hypotheses with a dynamic pañel data model (1993_2000) for Spanish Commercial banks and Savings banks. We analyse whether differences in risk behaviour are related to different ownership structures or to other factors such as the size of the entity.Commercial banks, Savings banks, Corporate control, Ownership structure, Bank risk_taking
This paper examines the causes and consequences of colonial expansion launched in the African
continent with the capture and trading of slaves. It also studies the relations of this system with
slavery in the Arab world, and its repercussions in the European and American economies.
Differences of the slave system within the Arabic World during the last decades of the 18th century
and in the 19th and 20th centuries are also examined
