Tuning phase-stability and short-range order through Al-doping in (CoCrFeMn)100-xAlx high entropy alloys
For (CoCrFeMn)Al high-entropy alloys, we investigate the
phase evolution with increasing Al-content (0 x 20 at.%). From
first-principles theory, the Al-doping drives the alloy structurally from FCC
to BCC separated by a narrow two-phase region (FCC+BCC), which is well
supported by our experiments. We highlight the effect of Al-doping on the
formation enthalpy and electronic structure of (CoCrFeMn)Al
alloys. As chemical short-range order (SRO) in multicomponent alloys indicates
the nascent local order (and entropy changes), as well as expected
low-temperature ordering behavior, we use thermodynamic linear-response within
density-functional theory to predict SRO and ordering transformation and
temperatures inherent in (CoCrFeMn)Al. The predictions agree

Reliability of ankle brachial index in patients with neurological deficits on ischemic episode of the limbs following Burgers exercises: open labelled clinical trial
Background: Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality and is an important marker of subclinical coronary heart disease. In some studies it has been found that surgical intervention alone or physical training alone does not provide good results. Aim of the study was to assess the reliability of ankle brachial index in patients with neurological deficits on ischemic episode of limbs following Burgers exercises.Methods: It was an open labelled clinical trial. Total 35 patients of both male and females were included in this open labelled clinical trial. Two measuring technique ABI and VAS, one exercise program, unsupervised home exercise program and patients advice was part of procedure. Intervention was given at 1st day, 3rd month and 6th month.Results: The study proves that VAS, ABI showed statistical significant difference when analyzed between 1st day to 3rd month, 1st day to 6th month and 3rd month to 6th month with ‛ p ’ value <0.0001.Conclusions: Physical therapy in the form of Burger’s exercise with life style modification is significant in improving quality of life in the form of reducing severity of claudication pain and improving walking distance. Therefore the present study concludes that ABI is a reliable, simple, safe and standard gold diagnostic tool in assessing ischemic episode of the limbs in patients with neurological deficits following burgers exercises.
Enhanced photoelectrochemical response of 1D TiO₂ by atmospheric pressure plasma surface modification
In this paper we demonstrate the use of atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) to functionalize the surface of hydrothermally synthesized vertically aligned TiO2 nanorods (TNRs) for photo electrochemical (PEC) application. The TNRs functionalized with the atmospheric pressure He-plasma showed relatively higher crystallinity, improved light absorption, and change in the morphology with additional surface area, leading to an enhanced photocurrent density than that of the untreated. Achieving the PEC performance on par with the best in the literature, this APPJ treatment is shown to be a promising technique to obtain better functionality with TNR kind of materials and many other nano-micro systems for various applications such as PEC hydrogen generation
Caprellids (Crustacea: Amphipoda) from India
The caprellid fauna of India is investigated. A
total of 538 samples (including algae, seagrasses, sponges,
hydroids, ascidians, bryozoans, encrusted dead corals, coral
rubble, fine and coarse sediments) were collected from 39
stations along the coast of India, covering a wide diversity
of habitats from intertidal to 12 m water depth. A new
species (Jigurru longimanus n.sp.) is described, and figures
of the 11 valid species reported so far from India are given
together with a key for their identification. No caprellids
were found in sediments from the northeast (16–208N)
coast of India while they were abundant in the southeast
and west coast. Decreases in salinity due to river discharges
associated with lower values of oxygen, higher water
temperatures and lower nutrient inputs along the east coast
could explain these differences in caprellid composition
between the two coastlines. Significantly, lower abundance
of caprellids in India, as in other tropical ecosystems, is
probably related to the lack of species belonging to the
genus Caprella, which reach very high abundances in

Design and Manufacturing of Smart Braking System
Now a days, vehicles have been developed a lot and reach its new margin; but yet accidents are mostly occurred by retard of the driver to stomp the brake or by the sloppiness of the driver or over speed or due to unpleasant weather. So our project points to emerge a system which can actuate the braking system automatically with the aid of high profile sensors with relay circuit and some more changes in conventional braking system which can actuate the brake automatically in emergency state. The brain of this entire set-up is Arduino microcontroller. The ultrasonic sensors are the vision of this system and stepper motor utilised for actuation. This system has been composed to depict the technological improvement in further. In future the actual model may be evolved based on its viability
Green synthesis of magnesium oxide nanoparticles and their antibacterial activity
1210-1215Nanotechnology has prospects of opening new avenues to fight and prevent diseases using atomic-scale tailoring of materials. As the nano revolution emerges, it is imperative to develop “nano‑naturo” links between nanotechnology and green domains of the nature. The present investigation describes the mangrove Rhizophora lamarckii’s property of synthesizing magnesium oxide nanoparticles . The newly synthesized magnesium oxide nanoparticle morphology is nanohexagonal and spherical. The particles range in dimensions between 20 and 50 nm and are crystalline in nature. The functional groups of the mangrove, amine, and alkane are found to act as reductants and stabilizers. The newly synthesized MgO nanoparticles are found to have potent antibacterial activity
