    Automation of Vehicle Door

    Get PDF
In this paper, we have implemented the concept of automatic sliding door in public transport focusing on the safety of the passengers. The objective is to design a simple, effective and economic automatic sliding door system. Pneumatic cylinders, direction control valves and optical proximity sensor has been used to design the circuit

An Empirical Study of Branding Strategy at Dealer point for Selling of Car-a qualitative & systematic Review of Literature

    Get PDF
India is one of the world’s fastest growing automobile markets and is poised to become the third largest passenger’s car market by 2020 (Philip, L. 2016, Economic Times). The recorded sales growth of 4 wheelers like passenger car & utility vehicle has also risen up to 7.87 % and 6.25% respectively during April-March 2016 (SIAM, 2015-16). But what makes a car maker like Japan’s Maruti Suzuki and Korea’s Hyundai enjoys more than 67% of market share while others like US car makers Ford India and General Motors combined market share is just 4-5%(Philip,L.2016,The Economic Times). Sales in the North & East region have evidenced only 5%of changes in the FY16 which is comparatively lower than the west & south region (Khan,A.N,2016, The Economic Times). The Japanese car makers(Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu Motors, Nissan &Toyota) achieved an average of 48.01% of growth till July 2016 having a better stand from the Indian car makers (Hindustan Motors, M&M,M&S, Tata & Force motors) i.e. 6.74% (Autocar Pro News Desk, July 2016). In this study the researcher explored the factors affecting the satisfaction of prospective car buyers and existing car users at dealer point and facilitate dealer to create a brilliant “moment of truth” (Pioneered by JanCarlzon) when a customer encounter with company.(Madge, Davidson & Beaujean, 2006

Prevention of Casuality in Automobiles due to Air conditioners

    Get PDF
Now a day the rate of deaths are increased because of sleeping in the automobiles with Air conditioner. In our project we have proposed a concept to prevent the death during such situations. The causes of death are because of the presence of carbon monoxide and R134A [Refrigerant] in air conditioning. Here we are using two different gas sensors to measure the values of both the gases in safer levels. We are using Arduino to control the levels of gases which won’t cause any death. The control of gases is done by indication the people through alarm / buzzer at minimum level were people will be in conscious state and by opening the power windows at maximum level when they are in unconscious state

Modelling and Fabrication of Groundnut Separating Machine

    Get PDF
This project is mainly focused on design and fabrication of groundnut separating machine electrically powered by a 0.5HP motor. Farmers having large harvesting area can afford and use this machine. This separating machine is light-weight, time consume and low in cost. During the process of testing it was observed that majority of groundnuts were been separated without damaging the groundnut. Farmers and business -man start their business with less investment

Design and Manufacturing of Smart Braking System

    Get PDF
Now a days, vehicles have been developed a lot and reach its new margin; but yet accidents are mostly occurred by retard of the driver to stomp the brake or by the sloppiness of the driver or over speed or due to unpleasant weather. So our project points to emerge a system which can actuate the braking system automatically with the aid of high profile sensors with relay circuit and some more changes in conventional braking system which can actuate the brake automatically in emergency state. The brain of this entire set-up is Arduino microcontroller. The ultrasonic sensors are the vision of this system and stepper motor utilised for actuation. This system has been composed to depict the technological improvement in further. In future the actual model may be evolved based on its viability

Experimental Study on Behaviour of Clutch Plate Lining using Jute Fibre

    Get PDF
Clutch plates are usually made of cast iron and high carbon steels. The cast iron has high compressive strength, low tensile strength and low ductility. Clutch lining material is made up of asbestos. In order to obtain good life and more effectiveness and to reduce the cost of clutch plate, the new fibre reinforcement with clutch material is introduced. For the reinforcement with clutch liner material, jute fibre is selected. Due to the reinforcement of the clutch material, the properties has been improved. Then, the comparison of the properties and effectiveness of the new plate with the existing plate is to be done

Effects of Deep Cryogenic Treatment on Wear Resistance & Life of Nickel Coated Flywheel

    Get PDF
The influence of deep cryogenic treatment on wear resistance and life of nickel coated flywheel was studied. Nickel was deposited on to the flywheel workpiece by plating method. The nickel coated pieces were tested at various loads and speeds on a pin-on-disc apparatus, different loading conditions were used in order to compare the wear rate. The pin-on-disc gave ample results on the wear rate of the coating. Then the coated pieces were cryogenically treated at -196? at various time interval of 8,16 & 24 hours with constant supply of liquid nitrogen. Later the cryogenic treated specimen was tested for wear rates to compare the wear rate results to ultimately find the wear before and after cryogenic treatment. The microstructures of cryogenic and conventionally treated samples were analyzed. Additionally, transformation of retained austenite to martensiteplayed an effective role, i.e. improved hardness values

A TILTING ACTIVE AERODYNAMIC REAR WING FOR A RACE CAR

    No full text
Race cars always focus on achieving high speeds and high down-force. However, speed can be achieved be various ways by increasing engine power and reducing the weight of car but achieving high downforce and stability is quite hard. The idea mainly focuses on a mechanism which replaces a static rear wing with an active aerodynamic rear wing that will help to increase downforce and stability of car. By automation of this rear wing it’s made easy for a race car to take high speed turns as down-force is increased and stability of car is maintained

Design and Fabrication of Economic Motorized Wheelchair

    Get PDF
Wheelchair is the device which is mainly used for physically challenged people. In the earlier day’s wheelchair were existed manually and dependent on other person for the mobility. In case a patient who has challenge in using their hands for mobility, then he/she needs another person help for mobility. In the world of Engineering, the Engineers play a vital role in the development of the society and provide comfort in their lifestyle. With this as primary objective our project had evolved the wheelchair with automatic control

A Camless engine with electro hydro-pneumatic actuator

    No full text
Right now, Internal Combustion engines with am controlled valves have been the source of propulsion for cars and for over a decade. Automotive manufacturers constantly search for improvements in fuel economy and emission to meet the norms. So manufacturers always try to produce a better engine which consumes fewer resources and produce a high output. One of the vital focus areas in an internal combustion engine is the gas exchange process. The inlet of induction air and outlet of exhaust gases are governed by poppet valves, and in almost all ICEs the valve operation is performed by camshafts. But the engine can only be optimized for certain engine speed and load and significant efficiency increases can be gained if the valve timing could be varied. Camshaft-based variable valve timing (VVT) can be applied, but these systems are limited due to its mechanics and hence not fully variable. Another solution is to get rid of the camshaft altogether and use e.g. pneumatics or hydraulics to power a fully variable valve train(FVVT) that also is variable for each valve and cycle to cycle. To better optimize engine performance across the entire operating range through an electronically controlled pneumatic and hydraulic valve actuator (EPVA) system that allows completely variable lift, duration and timing. A functioning FVVT will help in improving the fuel efficiency and also reduces emissions. By using this fully variable valve train we can easily control the actuation, lift, and timing and valves resulting in better fuel consumption of engine and controlling the exhaust gases for better utilization of turbocharger
