    New aspects in the study of Mari, Udmurt, and Komi-Permyak

    The present paper provides a brief overview of the state of the art of an ongoing research project, the Typological Database of the Volga Area Finno-Ugric Languages focusing on three case studies. The database is a collection of updated research material from three Finno-Ugric languages of the Volga-Kama linguistic area, namely, Meadow Mari (Finno-Ugric, Uralic), Udmurt, and Komi-Permyak (Permic, Uralic). The case studies cover both morphological and syntactic properties of these languages. The paper is structured as follows: in section 1, we introduce the aims of the project and give an overview of the key notions of the database. Then we examine three research topics that are discussed in the database. Section 2 gives an overview of the encoding and usage of predicative possessive constructions in Udmurt. Section 3 addresses the topic of person marking on nominal adpositions in Meadow Mari, Udmurt, and Komi-Permyak. Finally, we examine the feature of reduplication in all three target languages in section 4, then in section 5, we summarize our findings

    Post-Prior discrepancies in CDW-EIS calculations for ion impact ionization fully differential cross sections

    In this work we present fully differential cross sections (FDCSs) calculations using post and prior version of CDW--EIS theory for helium single ionization by 100 MeV C6+^{6+} amu1^{-1} and 3.6 MeV amu1^{-1} Au24+^{24+} and Au53+^{53+} ions. We performed our calculations for different momentum transfer and ejected electron energies. The influence of internuclear potential on the ejected electron spectra is taken into account in all cases. We compare our calculations with absolute experimental measurements. It is shown that prior version calculations give better agreement with experiments in almost all studied cases.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figure

    A little less interaction, a little more action: A modular framework for network troubleshooting

    An ideal network troubleshooting system would be an almost fully automated system, monitoring the whole network at once, feeding the results to a knowledge-based decision making system that suggests actions to the operator or corrects the failure automatically. Reality is quite the contrary: operators separated in their offices try to track down complex networking failures in their own way, which is generally a long sequence of manually edited parallel shell commands (mostly ping, traceroute, route, iperf, ofctl etc.). This process requires operators to be "masters of complexity" (which they often are) and continuous interaction. In this paper we aim at narrowing this huge gap between vision and reality by introducing a modular framework capable of (i) formalizing troubleshooting processes as the concatenation of executable functions [called Troubleshooting Graphs (TSGs)], (ii) executing these graphs via an interpreter, (iii) evaluating and navigating between the outputs of the functions and (iv) sharing troubleshooting know-hows in a formalized manner.Comment: 18 pages, 9 figure

    e+ee^{+}e^{-} pairs from a nuclear transition signaling an elusive light neutral boson

    Electron-positron pairs have been observed in the 10.95-MeV 00+0^-\to0^+ decay in 16^{16}O. The branching ratio of the e+^+e^- pairs compared to the 3.84-MeV 02+0^-\to2^+ γ\gamma decay of the level is deduced to be 20(5)×10520(5)\times10^{-5}. This magnetic monopole (M0) transition cannot proceed by γ\gamma-ray decay and is, to first order, forbidden for internal pair creation. However, the transition may also proceed by the emission of a light neutral 00^{-} or 1+1^{+} boson. Indeed, we do observe a sharp peak in the e+ee^{+}e^{-} angular correlation with all the characteristics belonging to the intermediate emission of such a boson with an invariant mass of 8.5(5) MeV/c2^2. It may play a role in the current quest for light dark matter in the universe.Comment: 6 page
