Analysis of Genetic Variability of Yersinia pestis Strains (Medieval Biovar) Isolated in Natural Plague Foci of the Russian Federation and Mongolia

Carried out is the analysis of genetic peculiarities of Yersinia pestis strains (main ssp.), isolated in natural foci of the Russian Federation and Mongolia. Determined is the fact that strains of medieval biovar characterized by typical glpD1 napA2 rhaS1 genotype circulate in 7 out of 9 marmot and sandy-type foci. Strains of antique biovar characterized by glpD1 napA1 rhaS1 genotype prevail in the Trans-Baikal steppe foci. Y. pestis strains from Tuva mountain focus have similar genotype, which correlates with denitrification activity and absence of marker mutation of medieval biovar – single nucleotide substitution G→T in the 613 position of napA gene, and testifies to affiliation of these strains to antique biovar. Among Y. pestis strains isolated in Mongolia, identified are two atypical strains incapable of reducing nitrates but pertinent to antique biovar

Concerning Preventive Activities Providing Control over Morbidity Rates in Reference to Flue, ARVI, and Community-Acquired Pneumonia in the Amur Region in the Post-Flooding Period

It is supposed that after exposure to impacts of the large-scale high water on the background of chronic persistent stress, immune activity of the organism is decreased, which may lead to sanitary-epidemiological implications and contribute to morbidity rate increment as regards a number of relevant nosological entities among the population of the devastated territory. Statistically community-acquired pneumonias are still one of the key factors for infectious morbidity, hospitalization and mortality rate in the region. They are indicators for organization of medical assistance to the population. Therewith, evaluated has been morbidity rate in reference to acute respiratory viral infections and community-acquired pneumonias in the Amur Region for the past three years, assessed has been epidemiological situation throughout 2013. Morbidity rate as regards community-acquired pneumonias in the Amur Region over the surveyed period (2010-2013) has turned out to be two times higher than the national one, and 60-70 % - than that throughout the Far Eastern Federal district. In order to avoid distribution of the acute respiratory viral infections, flue, and community-acquired pneumonias and epidemic foci formation in the territory of the Amur Region in the post-flooding period, established is a complex of sanitary-anti-epidemic (prophylactic) and remedial measures. Besides of that, identified are the main areas of activities aimed at stabilization of the situation as a long term strategy

Safety and efficacy of intrarectal 5-fluoruracil in combined treatment of localized rectal cancer was investigated in this article. Our data supports safety, economical efficacy and simplicity of use of this method. It improves sphincter preservation rate in patients with distal rectal cancer, does not increase surgical mortality and morbidity, leads to high tumor regression rate, improves local control and decreases distant failure rate

Marrow hematopoiesis indices and lipoperoxidation content in the marrow of animals undergoing the emotional-painful stress

The article presents the results of experimental study of the emotional-painful stress effect on the number of indices in interrelation with the level of primary and secondary products of lipid peroxidation in the marrow. It is shown that 6-hour emotional-painful stress has caused the inhibition of eritropoieses in the marrow of experimental animals testifying the damage of their marrow tissue caused by it. The interrelation between marrow hematopoieses indices and indices of lipid peroxidation stress-realizing systems in marrow tissues of experimental animals has been revealed.В статье представлены результаты экспериментального исследования влияния эмоционально-болевого стресса на ряд показателей костномозгового кроветворения во взаимосвязи с уровнем первичных и вторичных продуктов перекисного окисления липидов в костном мозге. Показано, что в результате действия 6-часового эмоционально-болевого стресса наблюдалось угнетение эритропоэза в костном мозге у экспериментальных животных, что свидетельствует о повреждающем действии эмоционально-болевого стресса на ткань костного мозга. A first estimate of triply heavy baryon masses from the pNRQCD perturbative static potential

Within pNRQCD we compute the masses of spin-averaged triply heavy baryons using the now-available NNLO pNRQCD potentials and three-body variational approach. We focus in particular on the role of the purely three-body interaction in perturbation theory. This we find to be reasonably small and of the order 25 MeV Our prediction for the Omega_ccc baryon mass is 4900(250) in keeping with other approaches. We propose to search for this hitherto unobserved state at B factories by examining the end point of the recoil spectrum against triple charm.Comment: 18 figures, 21 page

SYNTHESIS OF HIGHLY-POROUS HONEYCOMBED CATALYSTS FOR PURIFICATION OF EXHAUST GAS

The project is aimed at synthesizing material from domestic raw materials in order to obtain a ceramic substrate for catalytic automobile converters for reducing the toxicity of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines. Materials with a cordierite content up to 70 % were obtained. Various types of alumina materials of the same dispersion were used. It was found that the maximum content of cordierite was obtained when corundum powders were used as an alumina-containing component.Проект направлен на получение материала из отечественного сырья в целях получения керамического субстрата для каталитических автомобильных нейтрализаторов систем снижения токсичности отработанных газов двигателей внутреннего сгорания. Получены материалы с содержанием кордиерита до 70 %. В работе использовали различные виды глиноземистых материалов одинаковой дисперсности. Установлено, что максимальное содержание кордиерита получено при использовании в качестве глиноземсодержащего компонента корундовых порошков
