Neuroqueer Literacies in a Physics Context: A Discussion on Changing the Physics Classroom Using a Neuroqueer Literacy Framework
Life experience, identity, the relationship between ourselves and the world
around us among others, all affect and shape how we, as scientists, construct
knowledge. Neurodiversity, the diversity of minds, is an interesting concept
when keeping this in mind. Being neurodivergent, or neuroqueer (the viewing of
being neurodivergent as a queer thing, along with the intersection of
neurodiversity and queerness), means having non-neurotypical ways of perceiving
and interacting with the world, and especially of creating knowledge about the
rules and regulations, both natural and societal, that govern it locally and
broadly. Neuroqueer physicists, therefore, have unique non-normative ways of
doing physics, the study of the rules (which is done societally) which govern
the natural world. It is imperative that, when teaching neurodivergent
students, we encourage and support this non-normative way of thinking about
physics, and help them do physics in ways that they will be successful, and
support the development of Neuroqueer (Scientific) Literacies, from Kleekamp's
and Smilges's works on literacy. We here present a brief overview of Neuroqueer
Literacies and how to apply them in the physics classroom.Comment: 8 pages, 1 figure. Submitted to The Physics Teache

Object oriented design and programming for experiment online applications---Experiences with a prototype application
The increase in the variety of computer platforms incorporated into online data acquisition systems at Fermilab compels consideration of how to best design and implement applications to be maintainable, reusable and portable. To this end we have evaluated the applicability to Object Oriented Design techniques, and Object Oriented Programming languages for online applications. We report on this evaluation. We are designing a specific application which provides a framework for experimenters to access and display their raw data on UNIX workstations that form part of their distributed online data acquisition system. We have chosen to implement this using the C++ OOP language. We report on our experiences in object oriented design and lessons learned which we will apply to future software development. 14 refs
Review: proteins c-Myc and Myc-nick as potential targets for the melignant melanoma treatment
Malignant melanoma is the most aggressive and life-threatening skin cancer with increasing incidences over the past decades. Despite accounting for only 4 % of all skin cancers, melanoma confers 80 % of skin cancer induced death. The underlying cause of melanoma progression and metastasis is poorly understood.
Myc is a very strong proto-oncogene and it is very upregulated in many types of cancers. c-Myc protein is a transcription factor that activates expression of many genes. It drives cell proliferation, plays a very important role in regulating cell growth, apoptosis and differentiation. High c-Myc expression is associated with tumor metastasis and poor prognosis in human melanoma.
Full-length c-Myc is converted into Myc-nick by calcium-dependent on cytosolic proteases that are members of the calpain family. In connection with the key role of the cytoplasmic protein Myc-nick in the autophagy activativation, increasing the resistance to chemotherapy and overall survival of tumor cells, it can be a target for treatment tumors under the conditions of c-Myc overexpression. That fact that the expression of Myc-nick increases the survival of cells after UV radiation can indicate the key role of the Myc-nick in tumorogenesis of melanoma cells

In 2009 at the University Clinic of the Odessa National Medical University with minilaparoscopic and single-port technology we have operated 47 patients with cholelithiasis. 26 patients were performed minilaparoscopic cholecystectomy, 21 β laparoscopic cholecystectomy using a single laparoscopic access. All surgical interventions had no intraoperative complications. In 5 patients because of anatomic difficulties in removing the gallbladder, we were used to installing an additional trocar in the epigastric region. Time used for interventions ranged from 30 to 130 minutes. Patients were hospitalized after the surgery from 1 to 4 days. Technically, the performance of single-port laparoscopic cholecystectomy was more difficult than the traditional laparoscopic or minilaparoscopic operations due to lack of conditions for the quality triangulation, visualization of anatomical structures in the area of operation and the small angle between the operating instruments. Particular attention was devoted to adequate closure of the abdominal wall defect after installing the port. Pain after use minilaparoscopic surgery was significantly less than with traditional laparoscopic approach. The intensity of pain after single-port operations, was comparable with that of conventional traditional laparoscopy. At follow-up of patients during the first months after surgery separated complications were not observed, marked by a beautiful cosmetic effect. 8 months after surgery 1 patient was diagnosed trocar-site hernia after a single port laparoscopic cholecystectomy.Π‘ 2009 Π³. Decisive rule experimental studies to detect objects on the background of nhe earth surface using polarization differences of radar signals
The task of stationary and moving object detection against the background of the underlying surface (earth) by radar means becomes relevant. A decision rule is being developed to detect objects against the background of the earth surface using the polarization differences reflected from the earth and the objects of radar signals, represented as a measurement vecto
Cognitive Impairment in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a risk factor for the development of cognitive impairment, when unsatisfactory glycemic control is associated with glioma biomarkers and changes in neuronal integrity. Given some limitations in the performance of neuropsychological testing, it is important to indicate specific markers of brain damage

Horizontally scaling dCache SRM with the Terracotta platform
The dCache disk caching file system has been chosen by a majority of LHC experiments Tier 1 centers for their data storage needs. It is also deployed at many Tier 2 centers. The Storage Resource Manager (SRM) is a standardized grid storage interface and a single point of remote entry into dCache, and hence is a critical component. SRM must scale to increasing transaction rates and remain resilient against changing usage patterns. The initial implementation of the SRM service in dCache suffered from an inability to support clustered deployment, and its performance was limited by the hardware of a single node. Using the Terracotta platform, we added the ability to horizontally scale the dCache SRM service to run on multiple nodes in a cluster configuration, coupled with network load balancing. This gives site administrators the ability to increase the performance and reliability of SRM service to face the ever-increasing requirements of LHC data handling. In this paper we will describe the previous limitations of the architecture SRM server and how the Terracotta platform allowed us to readily convert single node service into a highly scalable clustered application

The developed algorithm is based on the consideration of development peculiarities for these signal
